Re: Space

"Well Mos Espa is out of the way." Anakin replied.

"Anakin, we've discussed this," Obi-Wan said.  "We don't have time to look in on personal matters."

Re: Space

Senthil blinked his bulbous eyes, realizing he had just stepped into something private.  "Oh, well I'll leave you two to work out the details of where we land," Senthil said, bowing respectfully and then quickly exiting the cockpit.

Re: Space

"Why don't you go ahead and show me more of the ship," Kit Fisto said to Sara.

"Gladly," she replied and the two exited the cockpit.  A'raan followed Senthil but stopped in the hallway.

"The nightmares about my mother are every night," Anakin shouted.

"Dreams pass in time-"

"How often do you have these dreams?" EDI asked, interrupting Obi-Wan who looked at her in surprise.

"I'm afraid this is a personal matter could you-"

"Two weeks, all night," Anakin stated.

"They're just dreams."  Obi-Wan protested.

"Respectfully, Master Jedi, I disagree," EDI said.  "A repetitious dreams may be normal but with this frequency it is unheard of.  According to my calculations, the likelihood that this is a Jedi vision are high."

"Visions through the Force come during times of meditation," Obi-Wan explained.  His posture and tone indicated that he was uncomfortable with EDI disagreeing with him.

"Scans indicate that brain activity during sleep is not terribly dissimilar to brain activity during meditation."

Obi-Wan shifted uncomfortably.

"Sara has said we are only here so she can trace the signal.  I suppose there would be time for you to check in on your mother."

Re: Space

When A'raan stopped, Senthil did too, though he felt guilty listening in.  "I knew Anakin was taken when he was older, but I didn't realize he knew his mother," Senthil whispered to A'raan.

Re: Space

"Makes sense I suppose," A'raan replied.  "Should he be so attached to her, though?  It sounds like he's letting it get in the way of his duty."

Re: Space

"Of course he shouldn't be so attached," Senthil chided.  "She's just one person.  We're sworn to protect the galaxy.  Still," Senthil pondered, "it's an interesting case, joining the Jedi at such an advanced age."  Senthil had never really thought about it, having never met his family.  The only person he was even slightly attached to was his master, but he would never let his concern for Master Fisto interfere with his duty--he knew Master Fisto wouldn't want him to.  But he wondered what that kind of emotional feeling must be like.

"I guess that kinda means we're not the best judges of the situation," A'raan said, a mixture of confusion and surprise on his face.

"Yeah," Senthil agreed solemnly.  Then, snapping out of his reverie, added "It's none of our business anyway.  If anything needs to be taken care of, Master Kenobi will take care of it."

Re: Space

The rest of the trip to Tatooine was fairly uneventful.  After the kerfuffle Kit Fisto and Sara rejoined the rest in the cockpit where Senthil could almost sense Anakin's anxiety.  Soon they were landed and Sara got to work on their advanced communications array.

"Anakin, I'm sorry I wasn't more...open-minded about your visions," Obi-Wan said as Anakin readied the small speeder-bike that was stored aboard the ship.  "And I do hope you find your mother."

"Thank you," grumbled Anakin then he drove off.

Re: Space

Knowing that he wouldn't be of any help setting up the communications array, Senthil asked A'raan if he wanted to spar.

"We can sharpen each other," Senthil said lacing his words with positivity.  Then, just to make sure A'raan knew Senthil had his support, he added, "Just so you know, I don't agree with the way Dark Woman trains you, despite her supposed success rate."

A'raan didn't reply but took off his outer robe, drew his weapon, and saluted.

Senthil similarly retrieved his lightsaber, saluted and took a strong two-handed grip on his lightsaber, igniting it to reveal its aqua-blue blade.

Despite being more than ready A'raan was able to lunge before Senthil could make a move.  Fortunately for Senthil, he was able to move just in time to dodge A'raan's hasty attack.

Re: Space

A'raan recovered his composure, gripped his lightsaber with both hands and swung, attempting to use his superior strength to his advantage.  The tactic worked and the blow was enough to nearly knock Senthil off his feet, fortunately their lightsabers were set on training mode or the attack would have severely hurt Senthil.

"Well done A'raan, I think you'll be ready for your next pop quiz," Senthil complimented as he deactivated his lightsaber and put it away.

Continued in Tatooine.

Picking up from the Tatooine thread.

As Senthil completed his exercises he noticed that Anakin was standing in the doorway to the turbolift, watching him.

Re: Space

A little bit embarrassed that he had been thus bested in front of the more experienced Padawan, Senthil nevertheless decided not to take anything away from A'raan.  "What do you think Anakin?  Will A'raan be able to meet his master's demanding expectations?"  And then, after swallowing a bit more pride, "And any tips for me to be able to keep up?"

Re: Space

"A'raan needs to worry less about his master and more about himself.  They're not not always right and his is far too brutal.  Reminds me of when I was little on Tatooine."  Anakin looked distant for a moment.  "The Jedi should be more virtuous.  They should reign her in.  They let injustices go and offer platitudes in their place.

"As far as you're concerned, don't worry about what others think of you; everyone wants to mold you into that they want you to be.  Find what you do best and pursue it, even if it's not what your master wants."
