"Yeah, that was her.  Pretty fancy flier, huh?" Applebloom chuckled.  It was kinda weird coming across somepony who didn't know about Rainbow Dash already.

She bid farewell to Miss Cheerilee, her calligraphy set and papers carefully rolled and packed away in her backpack as she left the school house with Bumblebee to meet Sweetie Belle and Applebloom outside.

"Rainbow Dash's contest?" Xing inquired, a bright look coming to her face. "Oh... yes! I would... like very much to go," she replied after a second. "Rainbow Dash is... really cool! I would like to see... what she has in store for... for her... um... contestants." She stood beside Applebloom and turned to look at Seafoam and Bumblebee with an inviting smile. "You two should... come with us. I'm sure it will... will be lots of fun!"

"Shoot!  Ah say why not!" Bumblebee giggled, smiling at Xing Ming's invitation to her, "Rainbow Dash is always cool to watch.  Hey, maybe we can get a snack while we watch the race?  Like they do at sporting events?"

"It would be wonderful.  She seems to love the feeling of 'flight'.  You could see her joy at living." She blinked a little. "Let's go!"

"Awright then~!  Let's go, everypony~!"  Applebloom chirped.  She was equally hopeful for a good show as she was for finding Scootaloo.  Surely their friend couldn't help but be drawn to something like that?  Frankly, she wouldn't be surprised to find the little Pegasus competing just to get the chance to hang out with Rainbow Dash for a while.

The girls quickly gathered their bags and trotted off for the path back into town, leading the way for the sake of those who didn't know.

Xing happily followed Applebloom, waving Bumblebee and Seafoam after them.

Bumblebee smiled at Seafoam, buzzing excitedly off the ground on her small wings, "C'mon.  Ah'll stick close to ya, just in case.  It's tough bein' new." she nodded

Day 8?

Seafoam dove at the schoolhouse door.  She refused to be late.  he might not be the best student but late was "bad".  Late meant the current turning on you. Latemeant lives that could have been lived not being so. That was late meant.

"ACK!"

Late also meant that others became targets for those trying not to be late!

Said target was a bumblebee-yellow pegasus mare... who by odd circumstance was named Bumblebee

And she was currently seeing a couple of stars.

"Guh?"

"Ouch!"  Even the sky was out to hit her today.  She paused suddenly, since when was the sky yellow.

"Oh miss Bumblebee. Are you alright?"  She hurried to help the fallen filly to her feet.  "I'm really sorry."

Bumblebee shook his head to clear it, "Ah'm fine!  Ah'm fine! Honest!" she smiled, "Are You okay though, is yer tail on fire or something?" she asked with a chuckle, wondering what the hurry was about

"I was going to be late for school.  I still might be."  She bounced a little on her hooves.  Worried about her friend but equally about the all important getting to school on time.

"One thing Ah know about Miss Cheerilee is that bein' late only becomes a problem if it happens a lot." She said, gently putting a comforting hoof (she hoped) over Seafoam's shoulders

"An'sides... we got like a minute or so.  As long as we're in the schoolhouse or the class room she won't call us Late." Bumblebee said

She smiled, opening the door for the both of them and trotted in with her new friend, "Now, let's get our rumps in gear."

"Yes. Yes of course."  She trotted in alongside Bumblebee, and her mind strayed a little, thinking about the 'book report' She just had to visit this 'library' she had heard about.  Maybe there would be a book she could report on.

"So umm have you always lived in Ponyville? Sorry if you have said already."

"Nah it's fine" Bumblebee smiled, "If'n it helps I'm horrible at names most times." she said, trying to 'even the field' as it were.  "Ah mostly lived in Ponyville all my life, but I wasn't born here.  We moved here shortly after Ah was born.  Mah Dad retired an' stuff." she shared as they walked.

"What did they do? Mom is semi retired, she misses her friends a bit, even though dad said he would take  care of me if she wanted to go and see them."

"Momma's a homebody, then and now." Bumblebee smiled, "Hadta take care of my big bro Goldbug.  Daddy was a police pony in Fillydelphia before he retired." she smiled


Today -was- a school day, wasn't it?



(ooc: also, sorry for taking so long, I guess I meant to post and got distracted then forgot x_X)

"Police pony, that must have been fun!"  Then she thought about it, worried ponies sitting anxiously, wandering if their dad would be coming home, if he would be alright.  She shivvered a little.  "Then again perhaps not."

She paced forward, craning her head around classroom corners "Where is everyone? Today must be a school day because I was at school yesterday."

Seafoam was really getting scared. There was no-one in any classroom and now she had even lost sight of dear Bumblebee who had been so kind to her. She paced back and forth up the corridors, poked her head into every room, and now she was getting really scared, and she couldn't find the front door.  Today was a school day, she was sure, dad hadn't mentioned anything, but then he had been in a rush. But the more rooms she checked, even the rooms marked no entry, made her more scared than ever.  Only after several more empty rooms did she realise she was lost.

Almost instinctively, she was checking every patch of shadow, looking for a defensible position and trying to make herself as small as possible as she moved, she explored classrooms by hiding under the desks, and any subtle change made her pause.

"Seafoam!" Bumblebee called out, trotting up quickly, looking worried, "Ah'm so sorry Seafoam Ah thought ya were right behind me." she pressed against the pony in apology, hanging her head.

She was nervous too and took comfort in leaning agianst the pony as much as she was trying to help calm Seafoam down.

"Ah think we should go.  I haven't seen nopony here."

Seafoam eeped a little, but soon calmed. "It's ok."  She had found the friendly face, or rather the friendly face had found her.

"Yes. Let's go."  She moved shoulder to shoulder with her friend. "This 'book report' would Miss Merriweather allow us to report on one we wrote? I'm thinking the Tale of The Scary Empty School."  She smiled a little.  "I don't know about you, but going outside or splashing in the lake sounds appealing right now."

Bumblebee giggled, "Ah think you're a little hungry.  Miss Merriweather runs a diner here in town."

She made her way towards the main door with Seafoam, "Ah'm not sure Miss Cherrilee would though.  It'd be interesting to try." she giggled again

She thought about Bumblebee's words, yes she was a little hungry.  She giggled that she had got her schoolteacher muddled up.  It really did not seem like there was anyone else about.

"Yes, let's go.  We can genuinely say we checked thoroughly."

Bumblebee giggled, nodding, "Sure thing!"

She walked with Seafoam out of the schoolhouse, making sure to lock up after they left to make sure that they couldn't be blamed for anything.

Then, off to Summer Song Cafe!
