Re: Rainbow Dash's Home
BEGIN DAY TWO!!
-----
Rainbow Dash just managed to jump onto the hanging ladder as the lava flow reached her and flowed underneath. "Phew! That was a close one!" She looked around and saw the bright and searing lava flowing further down the corridor and finally coming to a stop with a splash against some carvings in the stone wall. Dash sighed and frowned a little. She had been looking forward to studying those closely. But the trap they had accidentally sprung had changed that. Oh well, at least they had what they came for.
"Are you okay, Rainbow Dash?" a voice called from above. Higher in the ceiling of the stone structure, a hole was cut in which a certain yellow pegasus wearing a pith helmet peered down. "Do come along now, Rainbow. We can't keep the King of Aldeers (Algiers) waiting, now can we?" she said with a smile. In her hands was a large scepter covered in gold and gems.
"Right behind you, Daring Do!" Dash said with a smile and quickly made it up the rest of the ladder. "Alright, now do you remember the way out?"
Daring Do chuckled. "My dear, I always know the way out. See here on the floor? I've made some marks and--"
Thunk.
"Did you hear that?" Dash asked, eyes wide in surprise.
"Yes, I did. It--"
Thunk!
"It sounds like it's getting closer." Daring Do put the scepter in her saddlebags and looked around, seemingly ready for a fight.
Thunk!
"Get ready, my young assistant. We'll need to fight our way out."
Thunk!
Rainbow Dash swallowed hard. "I'm right beside you, boss! Let's do it!"
THUNK!
----
Rainbow Dash awoke with a surprised snort as the sound jarred her from her dreams. She had the foam cowboy hat over her face to block out the light coming through her window, but sadly it could not block out the sound. It continued every other second, must faster than in her dream. Dash groaned and rose from her bed with a loud stretch. "What the hay is that noise?" she asked herself and flew up through a tunnel to the highest point on her house to get a good look around. Following the sound, she spotted Applejack far below chopping wood.
"Is she always up this early?" she wondered to herself before looking to see the position of the sun. "Bucking early in fact. Still, got that challenge later on, today! Might as well get ready for it."
Not really having any patience to prepare herself a breakfast, she darted out of the house shortly after, spiraling down towards Sweet Apple Acres.
