Merri's doing pretty well, but the issue has been work.  Still looking at 80 hour weeks as a writer for games (with management that doesn't understand how anything works).

It's hard to come home after that and write for anything.  Especially when so much lore revision and such is necessary to make the game fit the show canon after so many drastic changes since its inception (from two or three princesses to five, including Twilight Sparkle).  Ultimately, a line has to be drawn somewhere, obviously, but still.  That's a great deal of work to start this up again, and hard to do after 80 hours of ANYTHING, let alone writing.

I agree. The episode set up a possible location, the reveal that they could be redeemed / weren't all evil (The Drizzt effect) and a massive amount of existing prejudice and racial stereotyping against them from even the Mane Six.

At this point, given their inability to ignore the above, i'd be surprised if it wasn't going to be her. She even got a (flashback) scene, and it's been a LONG time since she last got screentime.
