Re: The Summer Song Cafe
"Yeah, you can blame the big minty cream puff over there for the pricing. Don't get her started talking about mark-ups and gouging tactics in Canterlot - she'll talk your ear off." China rolled her eyes a bit as she nodded over at Merriweather across the cafe. Minty, perhaps, but the imposing, battle-scarred mare sure didn't look like a cream puff by any measure. In the meantime, China quickly refilled Darkmoon's glass and then just left the pitcher there for good measure, letting her help herself - water was free anyway, of course.
"Well, you picked a good place to make a new start for yourself then. Ponyville's got it all. Scenic countryside, quaint locals, at least two Princesses at any given time, an unpredictable spirit of pure chaos... oh, and Discord too." the slim Unicorn had to chuckle at her own joke even if Darkmoon wouldn't get it. Once she met Pinkie Pie, she'd understand. "Anyway, gimme a few minutes and I'll get your orders on out one at a time. Can't have you starving to death waiting for the plates to all come out at once."
If Darkmoon had the desire to continue chatting, she'd find China still within earshot. There was a large serving window in between the kitchen and the dining area, so even as the waitress set about getting orders cooked up, she was still wholly within conversational range. Of course, once dishes loaded up with food started hovering their way out to Darkmoon, odds were she wouldn't be interested in chatting much longer. Not when she had delicious treats wafting her way - thick cut toast with fresh butter and preserves, zesty yogurt mixed with a variety of chopped fruits and honey, a simmering bowl of pale, savory broth loaded up with a medly of finely sliced autumn veggies and squash... and that was just to start!
