Fellow citizens of the Terran Alliance,
The is your President speaking.  I am pleased to announce that a new era in our history is about to begin!  Brave and intrepid pioneers are even now ensuring peace and security throughout our worlds.

As you are aware, we are beginning to recover from the evil alien attack on our beloved Alliance.  To aid in that recovery, I am asking these courageous fleet captains to assist in that very purpose.  Specifically, they have been tasked with several missions:

1.  Secure the spacelanes for interstellar commerce and relief efforts.
-Many of you are still suffering from the after-effects of the war, and it is my goal to bring prosperity back to the Alliance.
2.  Identify the source of the alien threat and neutralize it.
-This dastardly enemy must not be allowed to strike again.
3.  Continued exploration for the purpose of colonization.
-As our people continue to grow, we must have habitable worlds for living, for defense and for progress.

Citizens, I ask you to please assist these fleets and their captains.  They are acting on my behalf and for the good of the entire Alliance.

The President of the Alliance passed away this morning.  We ask all Alliance worlds to please schedule a moment of science for the man who held humanity together while the Zura were driven off.

As El Presidente had no formal vice-president, so the order of succession is unclear.  Rest assured, citizens, that it will be dealt with in a legal and fair manner.

We ask all of humanity to remain calm and orderly during this uncertain time.

Please also disregard all rumors regarding foul play - these will only hurt the unity of the Alliance.
