Re: Solisand

Sanjar draws his scimitar with a slow, almost afterthought, motion as his expression shifts from one of grim determination and resentment to plain confusion and misapprehension.  Silently then he stands with his eyes flitting between each of those present, friend and foe alike, as they act.  Yet it is plain that the import of those actions is somehow lost on him, and he arrives at no decision of his own.  Instead he visibly grows more and more frustrated with his lack of understanding.

Re: Solisand

In reply to Sanjar Zand (msg # 687):

With the realization that the time for discussion has passed, the time for action must begin.  Sometimes you have to take down a target who you don't feel deserves it. Eyeing Solisma's transformation, Tanek decides he doesn't want any of part of that yet and sets his sights on the little Bakru before him.

With a heavy heart, his thrust starts out a little off, but a quick hardening of his emotions and a shift of the feet brings it true.

09:44, Today: Tanek Sanasin rolled 87 using 1d100. Spear attack (72).
09:45, Today: Tanek Sanasin rolled 59 using 1d100. Spear attack (72) Luck Point.

SA of Impale if granted.

09:48, Today: Tanek Sanasin rolled 7,5,2,9,1 using 1d20,1d8+1,1d2,1d8+1,1d2. Spear damage and loc.

Hits the 7 for 7 damage, 10 if impale.

Re: Solisand

In reply to Tanek Sanasin (msg # 694):

Rhaskos throws his javelin, but he is clearly panicking and it flies wide - the woodsman is deeply unsure of the situation he finds himself in.

Tanek and Khordan decide that it is best to make a firm strike, level the odds and then worry about the consequences...

Tanek's spear thrusts into the middle of the tiny child-like form of the Bakru, and as it pierces the 'skin' that appears to be a weave of twigs and vines it meets less resistance than he would have imagined. The Bakru looks disappointedly back at him, but seems entirely unhurt. A moment later Kordan's spear gives the little guy a blow to the head. The big man with his mighty spear cannot elicit even so much as 'ouch'.

The only thing that may changed the situation is that the Bakru (SIZ3) is now impaled on the end of Tanek's spear...

Turn 3

What you all up to then? Who has actions left?

Re: Solisand

Given his current cognitive disability I don't think there is very much that Sanjar can do other than standing staring at everyone trying to make sense of what is going on.  And failing.

In game terms I suppose he will hold any/all actions for defense with his scimitar.

We await Orinastron's next move - but what is clear is that where a few moments ago there was an otherworldly but essentially rather alluring feminine form of Solisma the nymph - is now a HUGE wall of earth and dirt and rocks. She's transformed into an earth elemental, and a big one at that.

OOC

This looks rather dire!  Ori has no luck points left, little to speak of in the way of spells and must put faith in his sword

/OOC

Seeing the Bakru skewered like a marshmallow on the end of Tanek's spear, Ori steps closer to the terrifying, roiling wall of boulders and dirt and drives his sword deep into it.

22:58, Today: Orinastron rolled 13,5,3 using d100,d20,d8. Sword (70), Location, Damage

Well it is a hit.

*dink*

Ah well - everyone now probably guesses that their two foes are not especially vulnerable to normal weapon damage...

Sanjar can have a Willpower test as his first action next round since this wall of earth and rock is about to engulf the party. Others may think about using their evade skill - or generating a SE that may get them out of trouble for a moment or two.

Re: Solisand

In reply to Kordan Mardahar (msg # 710):

Tanek simultaneously experiences elation and dread. A slight thread of relief passes through him at the thought that he may not be able to kill the small creature.  Simultaneously, his heart drops into his stomach and his bowels clench at the realization that what should have been a true strike appears to have passed harmlessly through the structure of the Bakru's body.

With that, Tanek will retreat back towards Sanjar. If the Assabian still looks senseless when he gets there, a little love tap with the hoplite should return his senses. "Hsst! Sorcerer, your arrogant words have gotten us into a right fix, close your slack jaw and figure something out or it doesn't look like any of us are long for this world!"

Sanjar's turn comes after Solisma's. But on balance, worth noting that in Gnome form it may be possible to outrun her if you can get beyond combat range.

Re: Solisand

In reply to Simulacrum (msg # 713):

OK folks - I think everyone is in effect looking to try and flee this fight.

Orinastron comes first, and the right action to declare is Change Range, hoping Solisma does not burn an action to prevent the move or attack. If Ori succeeds in the Change Range move he can use the next action to run for it (or otherwise reassess the situation)
