"Captain, it's wonderful to see you again." Captain Komad finds herself smiling as well, but she's all too tempted to salute even though she's not wearing a cover.  After all, she just came from teaching a class, and she looked more like a business woman than an old soldier.  The most telling was the way she marched more than walked, even if it was just a minor holdover from teaching the recruits, herself.

"I'm doing fine these days, really, only thing I have to complain about is it's a little boring." The dark green skinned Twi'lek does finally sit down, more than a little glad that the General is still alive with all she's been through, "Just trying to keep myself fit and not get too soft when the roughest thing I have to deal with is a spoiled brat of a student who thinks her daddy can buy an A.  How are you doing these days, C- ah...it's General now, isn't it?"

Garza listens attentively.  "Yes, yes, General Garza.  Weird, isn't it?  All those times I thought we'd never make it home, but here I am.  I admit, I remember thinking, 'If only I were in charge, things would be better.'  Nowadays, I'm in so many meetings I don't have time for anything else.  Oh, but I'm blathering.  I know you say you're bored, but how is teaching, really?  No offense, but it's not something I would have ever guessed you'd do."

Seely laughs, "I didn't think I'd do it either, but, one of my Sergeants reminded me about the educational incentives, and I made good marks.  It's sorta like when I first joined the military all those years ago; I didn't know where I was going, and look where I ended up.  Anyway, to actually answer your question, I like it.  I didn't think I'd go from teaching new recruits up at the Recruit Depot to teaching young intellectuals about the war and galactic history."

Your former NCO begins with a soft smile, "I can only imagine.  It is so good to see you, I wish I had more time.  But-"

Garza is interrupted by a knocking at the door.

[Private to Seely Komad: "Come in," she calls out, obviously a little flustered.  She noticeably takes on a regal, authoritative composure.]
[Private to Serina Ryo: The official summons from Republic High Command still in your hands, you find your way to the meeting room.  You knock, and are answered by a woman's voice, "Come in."]

"If either of us had time, we wouldn't be meeting like this, would we?" Seely spoke quietly as the knocking broke up the moment, before taking a similarly proper posture.  The two females were as steely and formal as they needed to be, though the professor wasn't really dressed to need to be so formal.

Serinda walks through the Senate buildings halls holding the datapad with the information she was given. Though Coruscant is her homeworld this palace is far from the Coruscant she grew up in herself and she can't help but feel a slight resentment to these people and their extraordinary wealth. While people down below are suffering and dying from malnutrition. But she takes a deep breath to calm herself and push those thoughts aside. It's the way of the galaxy and now isn't the time to fight that battle.

She choose to wear her combat jumpsuit, and carefully braided her hair into a ponytail. The datapad held tightly into her left hand, slightly awkwardly since she's always been right handed. But she's started favoring her left lately.

Arriving at the designated room she knocks on the door and enters when told to come in, taking in the two others in the room and giving them a polite nod, briefly considering a salute as well, but the atmosphere doesn't seem quite right for it.

"I was told to report to you Ma'm?"

Seely watches the new arrival, but ultimately lets Garza run her show.  After all, this one could be anything from a common soldier to an officer near the General's level.  The short Twi'lek returns the offered nod, but does nothing else on first sight.  No reason to be alarmed unless this individual is really not expected by the General.

"Yes, Sergeant Ryo, come in, take a seat.  Please shut the door."  The old general had stood when Serina stepped in, but sits back down as the younger woman enters.  When everyone has settled down a bit, she introduces you two to one another.  "Sergeant Ryo, this is former Lieutenant Seely Komad.  Seely, this is Sergeant Serina Ryo, combat medic from the 401st Infantry."

Serina nods and closes the door before having a seat and giving the twi'lek woman a respectful nod.

"It's a pleasure to meet you"

Then she turns her attention back to general Garza

"The message didn't indicate what you wanted to see me for?"

"A pleasure, Sergeant Ryo." The nearly middle-aged Twi'lek turns towards the General similarly, "Forgive me, General, but I must express my curiosity as well.  It must be something serious to be so sudden, I presume?"

Garza sighs in response, and stands, addressing both of you at once.  "I have...been asked, by an old Jedi friend, to create a special ops squad."  She bows her head a little as she continues, her voice revealing some measure of...shame?  "Seely, I wish our reunion could have come under better terms, but we're re-enlisting you.  You'll be Captain, though forgive me, things are a little tight so there won't be much ceremony.  Sergeant, you'll be reporting to Captain Komad's squad effective immediately."

Seely stands, staring at the General.  There's a fair measure of shock in her expression, for a moment, but years of dealing with people, military and otherwise, have taught her to never be on the back foot for too long.  Even when the news hits you like a truck and destroys your life, you can't let it keep you stone silent for long.

Her face was as steely as it would need to be to please the sternest and least caring of officers, let alone the one before her, "I understand, General.  I don't need a ceremony to do my duty, though you must forgive me if I'll want to see and hear some very thorough briefs. I can't speak for the Sergeant, but I understand that we don't have a choice but to do this as best we can.  For the Republic."

She refrained from saluting, but only for her lack of a cover.

On the inside she wanted to scream, both in excitement and fury.  She knew the military could call her up any time it wanted and she had wanted it for the longest time, but she had a life now...and it was gone.  The Republic needed her and she knew that was her charge, however, but her feelings didn't care about duty.  She'd be taking a little extra time training tonight to beat out this stress...

Serina looks at the general in some surprise and stands up, realizing this 'is' the proper moment for a salute.

"Yes Ma'm!, sergeant Serina Ryo reporting as ordered then"

Even as she does so she wonders what this special ops squad is meant to be about if the Jedi are involved. Hopefully that doesnt mean it involves Sith too, but it probably does Serina decides with a grim look

Garza returns Serina's salute, and promptly raises a hand like a conductor quieting an orchestra towards Seely.  "You'll be briefed tomorrow, at 0900 hours.  However, I...don't know what the briefing entails.  The Jedi in question is being decidedly unrevealing about his plans, but-" she interrupts herself, inhaling and weighing options for words, "Well, I owe him a favor.  I really hate having to do this to you, both of you."

She backs away from the table a bit, reaching under it to retrieve some datapads and one holoprojector.  "Your fellow squadmates are...well.  I'll let you come to your own conclusions about them.  There are reasons behind the choices, trust me, but I can't devulge yet."  Before dealing with any of the equipment in front of her though, she presses a button on minicomputer on her wrist.  "Bring 05 in, please," she says into it, transmitting the message to someone ostensibly outside the room.

The door is opened again, and a few mechanical whirs greet your ears as a droid steps in, followed by a young man who is probably some sort of technician.  He salutes, awkwardly, before powering the droid on and introducing it.  "This is battle droid EAS-05, our fifth iteration on the Sith combat routine programming."

[Private to EAS-05: Your memory allocated, circuits engaged, you take in your surroundings and are introduced to your new commanding officer, Seely Komad, and her commanding officer, General Garza.  You do not yet recognize Serina.  The technician you've been working with, Davin, stands beside you, looking you over as he speaks.]

"A droid?  They are a capable sort." Seely doesn't really know the technical aspects or which particular iteration EAS-05 is derived from, but she knows that another blaster pointed down range could be all the difference.  A droid specifically made to combat her enemies is a friend of hers, as long as its programming holds and its parts don't get worn away.

She can't help some amusement, though, "I think they'll take more convincing about me than I will about them.  The young and tough ones always want to challenge the leader, especially when she's this short.  I'll try to bring 'em all back alive for you and your friend, General."

"That's why we're calling upon you, Komad," Garza replies with a brusque nod.

EAS-05's lit up as the main systems were powered.

"Beginning system diagnostics...  Complete.  All systems and sub-systems are operational."  EAS-05 runs through its internal checklist quickly and begins scanning the surroundings.  General Garza was one that had been entered into its memory, as had Seely Komad.  EAS-05 did not have any record of the other one.  Its gaze settled on Davin. "Technician Davin, have I been reactivated to fulfill my primary function?"

Serina turns to study the droid intently, but her expression turns to a frown and she glances between both Seely and Garza.

"How is a droid going to take on the Sith?"

The technician nervously looks to the General, who beckons him to continue.  "Y-yes, number 5.  Er, no, not right now.  You're being introduced to your squad."  he then salutes again, his hand at entirely the wrong angle, and departs.

Seely shrugged her shoulders, "I guess by pointing a blaster down range and shooting them, Sergeant, same as the rest of us.  Unless he's one of those highly specialized melee droids I heard about."

"How very disappointing."  EAS-05 muttered as Davin left.  Turning to its squad, EAS-05 introduced itself as Davin said was to occur.  "Greetings.  I am the final unit of the Experimental Anti-Sith droid series, Unit Five.  Designation: EAS-05."

"The EAS series are designed to engage Sith hostiles in close quarters combat in order to disable, disrupt, or... Break them."

"It's an experimental unit, one we've kept under wraps but plan to put into production and use should the need arise.  The way things are going, it won't be long before we're at war again, and we need to be prepared.  Sith are too great a force multiplier for us to allow them to go unchecked, and the Jedi are not able to be everywhere at once."  Garza sits back down, and waits for the two women at the table to do the same.  "Unit Five, you may join us over here if you wish.  Sit or stand as you like."

"Again, Sergeant Ryo and Unit Five will be under your direct command.  This will be Republic Special Forces Squad, codename Guardian.  With the three of you," she says, passing out datapads with dossier files open, "will be these individuals."

The dossiers include a great deal of relevant, and even some irrelevant, information on the aforementioned people.

First are two Jedi, scheduled to arrive in Coruscant just before the briefing begins tomorrow.  A young human man, Duran, with blond hair and what you recognize as a padawan's braid, and Shanda Rell, a Miralukan woman in robes.  These two have very little information provided, but Jedi probably don't get around to doing much during peacetime.

Additionally, and far more interesting, are the dossiers on the other two individuals: criminals.  The first, Hector Terrachova, a near-famous human man, apparently responsible for a number of crimes including but not limited to coercion, bribery, smuggling, impersonation of a government official (which looks difficult given the man's questionable taste in facial hair), and starship theft.

The latter is a human woman, Oriana Cy'Kast, who was working for another smuggler, Kai Marigg.  She's got a similar laundry list of crimes listed, humorously including parking a starship in a politician's backyard.
