Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

[Private to Oriana Cy'Kast: "++You know what?  If they want us gone, then gone we shall be.  Buckle up, both of you.++"]  Leveling the ship out, Hector dropped it down just enough so he could catch a view of the situation himself.  The very fact that the Sith still had her lightsaber - and had defended herself - was proof that she could not be trusted.  He wondered if the others would catch on to the fact that they were still in danger around her.

"++Since the brave Captain is so adamant, enjoy your stay on Corellia, all of you.  Hopefully the company doesn't sour your vacation.  One last bit of advice - do not trust a word the Sith say.  You're better off putting a bolt through their heads than listening to them.  I guarantee it.++"
With that said, he swung the ship around, pointed it at the sky, and pushed the throttle to full, leaving the planet behind.

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

++She's a slave Duran, it'll be up to the council what her future is, chances are she'll be allowed to return to her people if she wants to, but ultimately getting a bunch of force users that don't want to be Sith is what this mission is all about. We have an informant in contact in the manor to find the rest. I can't say who the informant is or who the force users are over an open comm but lets just say that there's a damn good reason the council and the republic would want them extracted.++

Shanda looked back down on Rathik and inclined her head, "Yes the informant is one of your fellow Sith looking after her own interests. Personally it sounds like a trap but thus far the information provided about you and your apprentice was accurate so perhaps the rest isn't so much vapor."

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

++If I don't see any of you three in this life, may the Force be with you.  Captain Komad, out.++ With that, she switches her comm link so she will only hear chatter from her ground team.  The last thing they need is for their enemy to attack again while they are distracted with a pointless argument among people who are finally leaving.  Besides, telling their enemy how they are going to restrain her is just as foolish as letting her handle that lightsaber freely.

Seely let Shanda handle the rest, here, though, preferring to keep her blaster trained on the Sith.

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

Rathik watches the unfolding events transpire, her arms locked in Easy's grip.  As the ship leaves, conversation becomes impossible for a moment above the engine's roar.  Once that's done, she continues scowling, her unnervingly pupil-less eyes glaring from behind hair that had spilled into her face.

She scoffs.  "I've got little to say to you.  Finish me."

Shanda would take the Siths saber looking at it with curiousity. Her gaze lifted to regard Rathik and Easy. "You can let her go, if she really wanted to fight you we'd be fighting right now. We don't need to move our arms to use our powers." Shanda slipped her hands, each holding a deactivated lightsaber, into her robes arms. "The choice is your own Rathik, you can come with us. I can't speak for the others but your actions have spoken volumes about your intent. For now we have a mission to get back to."

Glancing to Seely she inclined her head, "Commander, shall we head back in?"

Rathik's expression contorts into one of bewilderment.  "Is this some kind of trick?  Who are you, what are you even doing here?!"  Her fists remain clenched, but she retains control of herself.

"We're just a few people that you never saw, Sith.  That's all you need to know unless you want to talk further." Seely keeps her blaster pistol raised, "Unless she wants to talk, Shanda, we're going inside and she's heading in the opposite direction."

"That is understood, Jedi Shanda." EAS-05 complies with Shanda, as it seems inline with what Seely would order in this situation.  It releases Rathik and rises to its feet.  Rathik did not seem to be a threat any longer, so EAS-05 lowered the importance termination down below a minor but slightly pressing need.

It turned to Seely, giving a brief report on its status. "Commander Komad, several secondary systems were damaged and had to be taken offline during Sith Wikk's first onslaught.  I will require repairs in order to maintain combat effectiveness."

Shanda sighs lifting a hand to rub the recesses of absent eyes beneath the strap of fabric she wore. "Come Rathik, we'll talk as we walk. And its no trick." Shanda would fall into step behind the other and keep beside Rathik, "Who we are is rather obvious, as for personal introductions I'm Shanda. Why we're here is still being enlightened but it seems it was the will of the Force as well as Republic orders that we come here and help people as best we can."

Chuckling she looked skyward, "Though the mission has gotten a good degree more challenging since the Commander ordered our escape off planet. I'm not too worried, a way will present itself." Smiling the Consular tilted her head slightly to regard Rathik, "Though I'm sure the Commander is more concerned with who you are and why we are currently not at each others throats. I have a glimpse of why but I think Commander Seely would rather hear the whys straight from your own mouth."

Seely nods at Easy, keeping her eyes on the Sith.  If she had wanted to shoot and just finish it, she would have done it a long time ago.  She backs off just a little bit, giving her foe the room to flee if she so desires it.  Otherwise, she's more concerned with heading toward their objective...

Serina glares at the other members of her now greatly reduced team. But her eyes are even colder towards the Sith.

"You're far too trusting around these Sith. You don't really think they are above sacrificing one of their own in order to infiltrate our own operation? In a single day we've now met two Sith who are looking to be our friends instead of our enemies. Those are some maddeningly steep odds. At the very least one of them is lying, and more then likely both are."

She switches her blaster pistol to her left hand so she can carefully and slowly stretch her right one.

"Nothing good ever comes from striking a deal with Sith. Did you consider that we may be doing the Sith's dirty work? We do all that work finding the 'precious cargo'. And then when we're ready to leave they swoop in and take it to Korriban"

EAS-05 passively followed the others back to the manor, staying at Seely's side and reviewing the battle that had just finished.

"I disagree with part of Sergeant Ryo's assessment.  Sith Imperius is the only Sith that has asked for assistance.  Sith Rathik has not extended any such request." EAS-05 spoke up, deciding that a correction of Serina's concerns was called for.

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

As soon as Rathik hears Easy refer to the other Sith Lord her bewildered expression takes one step towards being a permanent fixture.  She mouths the name silently, her eyes darting from one person here to the next.  "What in the stars is going on here?  Are you implying you're here at the behest of a member of the Dark Council?!"

She shakes her head furiously, reasserting herself again.  Turning her voice downward, she eyes Shanda as she continues, "You have dishonored me enough.  Strike me down now or return my weapon so we may resume combat."

"We did speak to a member of the Dark Council, that much is true.  Surely you trust your own Council more than loyal members of the Republic have any cause to, or maybe even a Sith can't trust a Sith." Seely speaks firmly, keeping her blaster pointed in case the Dark Jedi decides to start a fight right here and now (without her weapon, perhaps).

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"We're here at the behest of the Republic and the Jedi Order. It just so happens that one of this Dark Council is mixed up in this." Shanda chuckled softly glancing at Rathik sidelong, "And as our companion Serina mentions she's most likely the one playing us false. You can help uncloud the mystery of this situation if you choose. Does Darth Imperious truely have a daughter on this planet that is currently unaligned with the Empire?"

Unfolding her arms to reveal the siths lightsaber still in her grip, "As for returning your weapon, that may come to pass if needs warrant it. But we jedi don't condone summary executions. As I've said Imperious told us about your status within the Sith, likely as a measure of good faith or to lull us into a sense that she's telling us the complete truth. Or perhaps the situation is as she says and there is a group here that does not wish to be Sith that we should similarly liberate." Tucking her arms back in her robe sleeves she looked at Rathik with a smile, "In the end the situation is about how you want to live Rathik. You don't strike me as suicidal. Returning your weapon now just so you can die in battle seems honorible but why? So you can die like a good little pawn to Sith Masters that don't give a damn about your existance?"

Shanda chuckled and shook her head, "Personally I think you should live. If only to spite your former Masters and freeing yourself from thier chains of hatred and deceit. If not, you are welcome to do as Commander Seely initially suggested...walk away from us. Return to the invasion fleet and whatever awaits you there. Having a choice might be strange for a slave, but there it is, and only you can make it Rathik."

"I have no reason to trust anyone consorting with Jedi, though your Republic wallows in decadence.  The only reason I do not strike back even now, even though you may as well be spitting in my face, is that I've no desire to go back to my superiors, such is the extent of my failure.  So you will tell me the meaning of this," she says, slowing her speech to be plain and clear, "or we will resume hostilities."

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"As far as I'm concerned, if you can hold off on trying to kill us or getting us to execute you, you can hear the words from your own Dark Councilor's mouth.  If any word at all she has spoken through her hologram projector is true, she cares for you just a little bit more than the rest of the Sith do, but I can't promise you half as much lenience if you insist on fighting us.  You can be more than a pawn of the Sith or another casualty in this invasion.  You can go and live your own life...however you want, but I know that I will not be joining the dead this day...and none of those under my command will be doing so, either."  Seely trusts her eyes and her blaster to put Rathik down if she does anything hostile.  It's hard to negotiate effectively while pointing a blaster, but she hopes that the Dark Jedi will listen to reason.  Even though she has to take steps to be ready to kill this Dark Jedi, she knows that Rathik is more useful alive...for now...

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"Apparently Darth Imperious has a daughter she doesn't want seen put through whatever training you Sith go through along with a bunch of other force users. As I say we really don't believe a Sith Lord is doing this out of some mercy or soft feelings for her own blood. Is why I ask you if you know of her family status, since she spoke of you it would not hurt to see what you know of this Darth Imperious." Shanda rolled her shoulders, "She claimed as a token of good faith that you yourself didn't really want to be Sith, that you were a slave. While your apprentice was unturnible, there was a chance that you would welcome freedom from your Masters. Personally I had hoped both of you redeemible but Wikk forced his becoming one with the Force."

Shanda looked at Rathik evenly, "Now we're heading back inside to get the location of this 'daughter' and the others. So the meaning of this is an offer to prove your own desire for freedom. You can help us, come with us or you can go your own way. If that is to resume hostilities with us immeadiately such will be your choice." Tilting her head slightly Shanda spoke softly, "But throwing your life away is not honorible. Perhaps personally you can view it as such but I can't say, I know little of your people and thier ways. To me it just seems a waste."

"You clearly don't understand.  I was chosen.  I live by the Sith code: The Force shall set me free!  This daughter you speak of, whoever she is, will learn the same.  We work to defeat the tyranny of the Jedi, those who would seek our extinction for having different ideas, for seeking freedom.  What are my trials against that?  If my previous suffering does an ounce of good to that end, what does it matter?"

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"If the Force has set you free, then why are you standing before us, confining yourself to one course of action?  If you were free, why would you need to obey the Sith and stand here, ready to throw your life away when you've got so many years left?  What does killing for them get you but more and more bitter and angry at the world, and further trapped in their stupid hierarchy of whoever can betray and enslave the most of their underlings?  I don't know if the Jedi are any better, when you get down to it, and I don't really care: I've heard more than my fair share about them falling for that Sith nonsense, but I've got one by me that doesn't want you to die in a cage that the Sith built for you.  You're not free, you're trapped," Seely says, staring intently and fighting the urge to raise her voice, "You have the keys to the cage now.  It doesn't matter what anyone else choose now but you, make a choice: free yourself and live whatever way you damn want to, away from the Sith and their poodoo, or die inside that cage they built for you!"

Her blaster shakes as she shouts out those last few words.  The only reason she held her voice low this long is because Rathik seems just a little smarter than some of her hopeless students...

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

Shandas arms lifted motioning to the skies with the hand that held her own saber listenign as Seely spoke then adding her own thoughts, "It is amazing how the one with eyes is more blind than the one without. Rathik, look to the heavens above us, whose fleet is that descending upon this formerly neutral world? Whose freedom is being oppressed? Whose extinction is being sought by whom?" The Consular chuckled sadly slipping her arms back together into her sleeves, turning her head to regard Rathik directly.

"You akin your suffering as if you were a martyr. So had we done nothing and allowed Wikk to blast you with his power while you tried to defend him that would have been an honorible death hrm? To throw your life away so the apprentice can become the Master." Shanda smiled softly exhaling slowly, "And if you were so sure oh chosen warrior of freedom, that the Sith cause is of purity and honorible intent why did you surrender? Why not force us evil Jedi and republic to finish you as you are so prompting us to now? Because deep down you know the Sith way is filled with piles and piles of gundark poodoo. If you truely believed that you were fighting the just fight you would have gone down fighting out there on the field."

"But you didn't. You deactivated your saber and let yourself be taken. Even now you look for justification to prove to yourself that that choice was wrong. Hoping that we'll say something to validate your Sith Code and let you continue to your 'honorible death'." Shanda unfolded her arms the hand crossed before her towards Rathik opened revealing the Siths saber in the palm of her hand. "Then take your weapon oh martyr and die a senseless death for a group that could care less. By showing mercy and openness I sought to prove your misgivings wrong, mere words will not sway you Rathik, so take your blade and strike me down. Here's your chance to slay one more tyrannical jedi before you yourself join the force. But at least the one who has actively sought your extinction will be gone first right?" Shandas gaze turned evenly towards Rathik.

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

Without seeming to move a muscle, as soon as the weapon appears, Rathik pulls it through the air, but only halfway to her.  It hovers in the air there, spinning slowly.  [Private to Shanda Rell: The two sides of the Force storm within this Sith as you watch.]

Her scowl returns, her red eyes flaring in anger, and for the first time you see the muscles in her neck tense...this woman looks quite physically powerful.  "This planet wallows just the same.  No amount of supposed neutrality can rectify centuries of this madness.  Imperial rule brings order and organization to such chaos; we liberate them.  Through us, I believe they will grow strong.  Do not mock what you do not comprehend."

She relaxes again, but brings herself to her full height.  She's tall, too, as you noticed before.  At least a head and a half above Seely, anyway.  Her weapon still dangling in the air, she continues, "But I will listen to what you have to say.  I will subject myself to your poison, that I may grow stronger as a result, if you are so insistent on sparing me."

The Chiss pulls her weapon out of the air and clips it to her belt in the same fluid motion.  Glaring at Seely for a moment, she moves forward, walking into the building's entrance, which was never shut.

As the group moves back into the reception area, you note that the adjoining elevator shaft appears empty; the turbolift must be on a different level for the moment.  Jutnam is nowhere to be seen, it's probable he went deeper into the structure when the fighting started.
