Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"Easy, lead the way back to that comms room." Seely stays more than a few steps away from Rathik as they move.  The others are likely being wary in their own ways, but she's not letting her guard down until Rathik is gone.  They're likely to encounter more Sith down here...she has a feeling...

"Yes, Commander Komad." EAS-05 moves ahead of Seely and overtakes Rathik's pace, "If you would follow me, Sith Rathik."  It continues to the turbolift, leading the group over the walkway and down a hallway, finally reaching the meeting room.

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

Shanda kept pace with Rathik, after all she was the one to return the Siths saber. A risk perhaps but one that seemed to have worked. Looking around by the lift entrance Shanda looked for an intercom or similar device to call for the lift.

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

There is a simple panel there.  Pressing it causes a number of noises to issue forth from below.  It's on its way up.

After about a minute, the platform is there.  Easy leads the way down to the floor you were on previously.  You note the number of floors you pass which could all be separate production facilities, or serve other purposes.  Rathik spends the time with her arms folded, leaning against a hand rail.

When the lift slows and stops, you go back through the walkway and find yourself at the meeting room door.  However, it's locked.  Jutnam had opened it for you before.

Seely takes a moment to look around for any panels that might function as intercoms.  Other than that, there are two universal lockpicks nearby (though she wouldn't ask the Sith for hers first)...

You don't see anything that could be used as any sort of communication from here.  Knocking is a bit archaic in this age, but it could work?

Seely looks at the door, then at the Sith, and then just decides to knock.  You only die once, right?

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

Seely's knuckles make a thin clacking noise against the metallic doors.  Shortly thereafter, with a hiss and a thunk, the door slides open, and Jutnam's there, in a frightened pose.

"Oh, you're back.  I ran back down here once you started fighting the-" his voice catches as his eyes meet the Chiss' blank red ones, and he gulps.  "...the Sith..."

"We're back.  Mission got complicated, can we talk to your boss?" Seely explains, putting her blaster back in the direction of the one woman who deserved it right about now.

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"Uh, er, allow me to check..."

Jutnam nervously skitters over to the console and keys something in.  A brief few moments later and there, on the holo, is Eiman Ussol.  "Yes, Jutnam, what is it?" asks the businessman you remember from Orth's briefing not so long ago.  His full profile is that of a relatively well-built man in fancy clothing.

"Mr. Ussol, ah, your visitors are back?  I believe they have some further words for you."

Rathik sighs and folds her arms again, shifting her weight from one leg to the other.

"Ah, yes, let me speak with them," the human man replies, smiling.  "And go get something to calm yourself.  I'll not have such squeamish behavior from you."

Jutnam obeys, relief washing over him like a raging waterfall.  As he departs, the door immediately closes.  "Please, sit down," offers the holographic image.

"Forgive me, but some of us are more comfortable standing, I'm sure." Seely briefly looks at Mr. Ussol as calmly as she can, refusing to sit while she has to keep watch on the Sith, "Now, maybe you can explain just what is going on?  This situation has a few of us on edge, and well within justification."

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

Shanda shook her head looking apologettically at Rathik before taking a seat herself reaching up to lightly rub her forehead, between Wikks assaults and probes to the over use of her abilities her headache was in full force now. Taking the opportunity to relax a moment she tried to center herself while keeping aware of the discussion.

Rathik returns Shanda's look with a sneer, remaining where she is near the end of Seely's pistol.

Regardless of whether or not you sit down, Ussol continues, "I'm glad you've made it back."  The image flickers, becoming the Darth's image as before.

"I see you've made a friend," she says plainly as two pairs of Sith eyes meet over the holo.

"A very tentative new friend.  Still believes in that line of rot you Sith feed your followers." Seely is more on guard this time, especially now that it's revealed that Ussol and the Sith are the same.  Last time, she was moved by that stuff about the daughter and Force Sensitives.  Now, she has a crazy psycho standing next to her and ready to fight...

Shanda sighed softly glancing sideways at Seely, then up to the image of Darth Imperious studying the hologram lightly before returning to the relaxation exercises she needs to refocus her ability.

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"A moment, Rathik," the Darth begins, raising her index finger toward the Lord.  Looking to the lot of you then, she casts her forearms out to her sides in a pseudo-shrug.  "And do you fault her for it?" she asks.  "Take your child away from her home, tell him peace is a lie, and beat him until that's all he knows.  Beat him to within an inch of death, until blood soaks his pores and his skin is flayed.  Beat him until he learns to do  the same to others to simply remain alive.  Do you fault him for committing atrocity?"

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

Serina follows the others to the chamber and listens to the conversations the others are having. She doesn't agree, but in truth it seems counter-productive to argue the point. Seely will decide their course of action. And getting drawn into some kind of heated debate will only cause them to loose more time.

She doesn't take the offer to sit, but puts her back against the wall, and keeps her blaster close at hand. Only deciding to speak up with the dark council member's image re-appears.

"There is plenty of blame to go around. We all have the responsibility to re-evaluate the teachings of our parents when we grow up. Then there is the responsibility of a parent to teach children the right things. And the responsibility of a society to ensure children are kept safe from unfit parents. In your example all three would be guilty."

She glances between the two Sith and then looks at Seely.

"With the Sith invasion force on it's way to the planet, do we really have time to discuss these little riddles?"

"I'll fault someone based on the actions they do, and I'll fault the group that feeds them rot and makes them do those things.  I don't have time for a philosophical debate; what's wrong and right is what will be done or undone, now." Seely nods at the Sergeant.  Time is of the essence.

"You live in it for enough time, and right and wrong can easily be flipped on their heads.  Sith are living proof of this."

"And may I remind you that the 'invasion' was over before it started.  Corellia was made Imperial through subterfuge; what you saw was a show of force to bring over anyone who still needed convincing.  It will take more than the lot of you to do anything about this planet."  She looks about for a moment, eyes bouncing between each of you, doing a head count.  "There was another among you.  I trust all is well?"

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

She isn't here to be right or wrong in the case of arguing; she'd rather just find out what this Sith manipulator wants her people to do.  The noose is about to tighten...

"The others left the planet.  He went with them, and circumstances dictated that some of us would say," Seely says, "And I think Sergeant Ryo is more concerned with the fact that our lives are forfeit, as we have been and are standing on a Sith occupied planet.  All is as well as it can be."

Imperius sighs softly, barely audible over the comm.  "At this point then, what would you like from me?  Are you willing to help, or shall we consign these children to their death?"

She pauses for a brief moment, and before any of you can respond, she also asks, "And what are your plans for Lord Rathik?"

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"As far as I'm concerned, she can do whatever she wants.  She's free to go back to the Sith, or to try (and fail) to murder us, or to go any other place she wants to.  If she wants to moisture farm on Tatooine, I'll buy her charter passage and buy her a good bottle of vintage to boot!" Seely glances at the member of the Dark Council, "As far as I'm concerned, here's what we want: secured transport to a Republic system, preferably Coruscant, for the children and ourselves, and some guarantee you won't simply have us shot and snatch the children when we've held up our end.  Maybe if it was just my life, I could just trust you and be fine if you stabbed me in the back later, but I've got teammates to look out for, and those children are more souls that depend on my actions..."

She doesn't expect much, but she knows that she can save the children from being taken by the Sith in a more radical fashion if they are completely and utterly betrayed at the end of this.
