Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

The Sith places one hand on her hip, and strokes her chin thoughtfully with the other.  "I suppose you could hijack the ship they're taking the sensitives in, but that would require some subtlety.  Do you know where your friends are headed?  I assume you're having them send word for help."

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"They could be going any particular place; we never called for a fallback point before we got down here, and they wouldn't trust us enough to tell us where they're going." The Twi'lek shrugs, "A hijacking is dangerous, but no less dangerous than anything else here.  Do they already have the Force Sensitives rounded up?"

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"Just checking to see if you've ruled out your previous transport as a way off-world.  This means more work on the part of both of us, and a greater degree of trust.

"No, I don't believe they'd have been able to round them up that quickly.  But I will need time to see what I can find out, to machinate some workaround to your current predicament.  Could I ask you to step outside while I speak to your 'tentative' friend in private?"  She points casually toward Rathik when she says the Chiss' name.

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

Seely deliberately pauses, giving her allies (Jedi and otherwise) a moment to voice any objections they might have.  She stays absolutely silent and keeps her lips as flat and indifferent as she can.

Personally, though, she expects this to be where the betrayals really will begin.  So far, it's been a lot of her and her own showing trust and being led along.  The Dark Jedi haven't given them much trust to go on...

Shanda rose from where she sat turning from the projector and moved towards the exit silently her arms folded in the robes sleeves as usual. Her head tilted somewhat as if looking back over her shoulder, "Lets give them some time."

Ushering yourselves out, Rathik calmly closes the door behind you.  You're on your own in the hall outside the room for now.

"I hope you're right in trusting them this far, Shanda...I don't think even the Force could give me so much courage." Seely keeps her eye on the door, hand on her blaster.

Serina follows the others with a look of stunned disbelief and shakes her head. Despite her attempts to keep her feelings at bay, they can't help but slip out in the form of sarcasm.

"Sure let's give them some time alone to talk, why not give em my credit account password too, oh and some secret republic battle plans"

She sighs and takes a deep breath, then places her ear against the door to see if she can hear anything through it.

"I don't like it either, but I think we're up the creek without a paddle already," Seely whispers.  Her attention is focused on the hallway.  Enemies that may linger nearby in the shadows, or perhaps the sounds of the conversation inside the meeting room, if they'd carry this far through the steel.

Seely Komad rolled 16 using 1d20+8. Perception.

The door is designed to be a barrier to sound.  Neither of you can hear anything beyond it.

"Commander Komad, what is the contingency plan if we are betrayed by Sith Imperius and Sith Rathik?" EAS-05 asked, finishing its review of the previous combat situation.  It agreed with the opinion that the Sith were not to be trusted and it still desired to crush Rathik.

Seely looks around for cameras and other listening devices before speaking, "We escape and steal our own ship.  If there are Sith Sympathizers on the planet, then there will be craft still left over on planet.  If Darth Imperius is being straight with us...I'd be surprised, but I also don't know if we can even fight her...or if they're listening to us right now.  Our back up plan is one hundred percent inspiration; we haven't had time to scout out an escape route or a spare ship."

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"I'm rather positive that Rathik is being given instructions for this little mission of thiers." Shanda spoke up with her back to the door, if she wanted to eaves drop she had a few techniques to slip quietly and undetected into the room but it would likely just be a waste.  "And its not about trusting them Serina. I know what they are. There's just no reason to get worked up over it for the moment. Is like my objection to leaving Oriana and Hector with the ship. They're smugglers and didn't want to be here to begin with. I could easily have continued counter arguements against leaving both on the Skyfisher but I trusted in Hectors word."

The Consular turned glancing towards the door with a soft smile, "Rathik is currently projecting mixed feelings. Our words earlier pierced her armor. It's not enough to turn her yet, but it is a beginning." She smiled lightly and rolled her shoulder, the sleeve of her robe drawing back slightly to reveal her own saber still clutched in her hand before the sleeve once more ruffled down to conceal her hand, When...or if we are betrayed the counter-plan is the same one that would have occured above, I will draw focus upon myself and you can either help or retreat as the situation warrants."

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"At least I knew we could trust them for one thing; running.  Criminals always run from their problems or make other people, more honest people, suffer for their gain.  We have to face the problems, because that's what people like us always do.  I just hope they contact the Republic, and ensure that there won't be anyone caught off guard by this.  If they do that much, they've performed the most crucial part of this mission for us," Seely states, watching the door and raising her blaster.

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"I do not understand, Commander Komad.  You were the one who argued for their retreat even after Smuggler Hector brought the Skyfisher back to recover us." EAS-05 was puzzled by Seely's remarks, "Why are they cowards for following the orders you gave to them?  Why do you doubt that the order to contact the Republic would go unfulfilled?"

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"They're not cowards for following my orders.  They're cowards for their choices in life.  Lots of us, Easy, worked and followed the rules and suffered for it.  They didn't, and that's why they were imprisoned before this mission," Seely resists the urge to glare so she can keep her eyes on the door, gritting her teeth instead, "As far as why I'm worried about that?  Their ship could still be shot down, especially with the Sith fleet overhead.  I don't like them, but I don't want them dead."

She stares at the door, gripping her heavy blaster with both hands.

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

It is not long after Seely nearly crushes the grip of her gun that the door slides open again, seemingly by some remote activation.  Inside, the room is as it was, but you do not immediately see Rathik.  Imperius is still there on the holo...

Poking your head inside, you see Rathik sitting in the corner.  Her head is hung over her chest, her eyes closed, and her arms and legs are sort of forward, as though she pushed herself into that position.

"She will be all right," is the Darth's response to an unspoken question.  "It's a ritual I learned from a Jedi, actually.  Well, former Jedi.  She's too unstable to travel with you, and so I put her into a bit of a contemplative rest."

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

[Private to Shanda Rell: The light side of the Force covers Rathik like a thick, shiny blanket.]
"It's...an admittedly unpredictable ritual, but she's unaware of her surroundings until the Force is done with her.  We should get back to the task at hand.  The Force sensitives have not yet been 'rounded up,' as it were, but the search has begun.  I am afraid I do not have the means by which to get you there in time to rescue them before they are found.  However," she says, replacing her image with that of a map of the area, "the manor does have a connection to the Selonian tunnel system.  It should allow you to get there unmolested, provided you do not rouse too much ire from said Selonians."

The map zooms in on the manor, and turns into a three-dimensional cross-section of the underground, centered on your current location.  "My associate Mr. Becc can show you the way to the entrance.  It was stumbled upon during the construction of this complex."  The map follows along what you assume to be the cavern.  "It's a bit of a hike, but we can furnish you with supplies from the manor if needed.  In case you hadn't noticed, we're in a bit of a heavy production phase."  A bright dot follows the cavern, and as it goes, a distance tally increases.  It looks like you've got about 80 km of traveling to do, assuming you take this route.

"After the caverns though, you'll find yourself right beneath one of Coronet's rocket trams, which you can commandeer to get to the spaceport.  If your friends can get word to the Republic, I will do what I can to get you some help on that front."

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"All right, if you have any grenades, we could definitely put those to use.  I have a feeling we're going to need to clear out tight spaces in a hurry, if it comes to a fight in the spaceport." She looks to the others, "Anyone have experience dealing with Selonians?"

The Dark Jedi has a plan, and it's not the worst plan in existence.  Still, there's not much of a reason to trust anyone on this planet.  Even if their strange hostess speaks kindly, those kind words won't mean much when the blaster bolts start flying.  The Selonians, hopefully, won't attack the second they notice Republic soldiers, too...

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"Grenades won't be a problem, but the manor can most likely provide you with anything else you might need as well, especially in the armaments department.  And to assuage your concerns with Selonians, they're non-native to Corellia.  Evolved from rodents, sort of, but are bipedal.  They are fierce proponents of freedom, and are probably already combatting Imperial movements and supply lines.  Just make sure you prove you're not Imperial."

Re: Chapter One:  In a Manor of Speaking

"That'll be easy enough.  Between the Jedi, two Republic soldiers, and a droid that exists to kill Sith," Seely says, "I don't know what the others are going to need, but if this place is sorted in armaments, we should be able to make do."

Failing all else, she wants to be armed to the teeth if the Sith are certain to betray them...

In requisitioning/grabbing from the manor, Seely will attempt to get a blaster rifle for herself, a few spare power packs, and a few grenades.  She'd naturally attempt to assist in the securing of anything else people might want.

Serina checks the power pack on her blaster pistol and shrugs.

"I've had some experience with rodents but eh... No, not with any intelligent ones anyway. Don't think I need anything beyond what I already have"

As much as she still thinks this whole thing is ill conceived, she'll be glad to be out of this place and be doing something, even if it is to meet rodents.

"We can try to convince them, but I'm starting to wonder who we're working for myself"
