Interlude - Tuesday

You both have orders, and meds, to keep you mostly in bed today to recover from Monday, the day of the exploding warehouse, also remembered as the day of the exploding bad guy.

Ariel calls and informs you your reports about the intended terrorist bombing in glasgow, which you stopped but unfortunately did so by messing up his plan and letting the bomb go off in an uninhabited block of the town, have been turned in.

You have time to do small, important things, like make phone calls, unpack, pack, comb your hair, etc.  You do not have time or clearance to go to town or anything major today.

Re: Interlude - Tuesday

I guess if I'm more or less confined to quarters, I'll spend the day mostly unpacking the last of my stuff (at least, what can be unpacked while still renovating the house), tuning up my bike, cleaning guns, and generally trying to stay busy.  I also call up Brother O'Riordan to discuss the last couple of days and offer to fire up the grill if he has time to come by.

Re: Interlude - Tuesday

Israel finds himself riding shotgun through the streets of Tel Aviv.  Beside him his partner, Jeremiah, is saying something, but Israel can't seem to understand the words.  Something feels wrong, but Israel can't place it.

The vehicle convoy pulls up to the planned location, and the feeling of unrest just won't go way.  Suddenly Israel remembers and finds himself yelling "Trap! It's a Trap!" but it's too late.  Jeremiah's chest explodes as weapons fire blasts through the windshield.  Israel's body goes throughout the motions, his mind seemingly not in control.

Then things change. The children that were forced to serve as suicide bombers swarm Rebekah killing her. Israel tries to disarm one of the bombs, as he did in the original version, but this time fails. The child dies, and the explosion tosses Israel back.  As he lays dying Seth stands over him, laughing....

Israel leaps up in bed, then groans as he wrenches his arm. He breathes heavily, sweat dripping down his back, trying to regain his composure.  He recites the Modeh Ani (the Morning prayer), in Hebrew, to steady himself. <I offer thanks before you, living and eternal King, for You have mercifully restored my soul within me; Your faithfulness is great.>

He checks the time 8:00, 10:00 in Tel Aviv, and decides its time to finally call the family.  Maybe the sound of the familiar will help calm him down.

<Hello? Mom? It's Israel.

Yeah I know its been over a week, but....

Yes, Mom.

Yes, Mom.

Yes, Mom.

Yes, I'm eating fine.

Yes.
Yes.
Yes.

/Sometime later/

Yeah, uh huh, yeah..
*Sigh* No Mom, I've been here less than two weeks I've not had time to start a series relationship yet.

/Even later/

Yes, Mom.  Love You to, say high to the family for me. Ok, bye.
>

Israel rubs his eyes, "Oy Vey."

Okay time for something different.
He turns to the not-exactly-a-computer sitting on his desk. "Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, you're my only hope...for sanity. Wake up Ben, It's time to see how this whole 'magician's computer' thing works."

In reply to Israel Levy (msg # 3):

Obi-Wan Kenobi? That is a name I have not heard from a non-geek.  Nice to get the stereotypes in place at the beginning.  So you are Jewish, and a Star Wars fan.  Hoo-boy.  Well, who am I to judge, Harrison Ford is one quarter Jewish, so maybe there's a connection.

<<Jewish>By default I'll speak to you unless I sense someone around. I assume we're keeping me a secret Mr. Mossad, so I'll just put words on the screen around others, until you give them clearance to know about me.  I can exit the computer, but only when told I can by you.  Daylight hurts me badly, don't get me wet, and no feeding after midnight.>

Re: Interlude - Tuesday

"That's...oddly similar to a standard computer - you don't generally see them outside, you should never get them wet, and if you're on after midnight, you're often up to no good." He pauses for moment, "Crap, now the theme from Gremlins is stuck in my head. I'll be humming that for the next three days."

"So, let's test out your fact finding and potion making abilities.  What do I need - and how do I make - a 'shoulder doesn't hurt so darn much' potion.  I need the practice with crafting."

OOC: no the GM doesn't not have to list all the ingredients if he doesn't want to.  I just thought the character needs some practical experience.

In reply to Israel Levy (msg # 5):

OOC: that's good on ingredients, cause I'll give you some, but I can't promise standardization here.

If you've got the ingredients, and the equipment, 2 potions are almost as easy to make as one.  Once the first gets to the simmer stage, you have enough time to mix up a second.  This doesn't apply to complicated potions, but I thinkthis scale will be alright. So, wanna make a second, and what kind?

(low grade  healing potion removes a minor consequence outside an encounter, restores 2 physical track during encounter)

Re: Interlude - Tuesday

Isreal thinks on it a moment. "Hmm, let's go with a "six million dollar man" type thing -  Better, stronger, faster, etc.  I could see that coming in handy regardless of what the next job is."

For that you need magic?  Go get some viagra if you are worried about your A-game. Think I can come up with something.

"I didn't realize air spirits could leave their minds in the gutter.  At least I'll know where to find you then. Just give me the list of ingredients and I'll go shopping - i.e. raiding Horace's storage cabinets.  I'm pretty sure he said I could do that, At least, I think he did. Besides, these shouldn't need anything too fancy. I'll need to talk to 'Q' eventually anyway, to see how he wants to handle training."

Yeah, yeah, gutters, haha.  Here's the list.  Give me a little time and I'll have this wireless stuff figured out, til then, you'll have to make copies the old fashioned way.

Israel takes the list, and heads out to raid the cabinets, still humming the gremlins theme.

In reply to Israel Levy (msg # 11):

Horace doesn't seem to be in right now, probably for the best considering you are raiding his cabinets.  You find what you need in his lab, apparently these two potions are standard fare here.  You return them to Ben, who is ready to help you get started.

Re: Interlude - Tuesday

Israel spends the next...however long it takes, following Ben's directions, jokingly complaining about his sense of humor, bantering when appropriate, and making potions.

Just as your mind is turning to slush, Ben's voice calls out Congratulations, it's twins.  Not identical of course, but they are ready, just be very careful, pour them up, let cool, and you'll be ready for them.
