Re: Review
In reply to Israel Levy (msg # 4):
There is a file on Sergei's desk, a quick scan reveals the file contains details of your past missions, which makes sense considering this meeting is to review past missions and what all you've done.
Otherwise the desk is nice, but austere. No pictures of family, no plants, just a calendar, and a place to hold pens and pencils.
(based on roll) You notice two things: Firstly, Sergei's office has 2 walls, the other two are clear, it being set into a corner of the basement. On one wall is a world map with various pins, thread, and markings. It is behind his desk so he can swivel the chair and stare at it. To the left is wooden bookshelf. Next to the bookshelf is a cork board with memos and pictures. You recognize some of the faces as missing people, some are Bad Men.
On the bookshelf is a book that has obviously been read recently, and not pushed all the way back in. You notice little things, like dust and the signs of cleaning. Cobwebs form, he wipes, but there's tell-tale signs if you are a highly trained, semi-paranoid, observant former member of a group like, say, Moussad.
Cursory examination shows it to be a copy of The Gulag Archipelago, by Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn. The spine is oddly formed and won't push in evenly. You notice a lot of A.S.'s books. (I'm going to need a roll or you pointing out an interest in Russian lit. to know if he has all, or what's missing.)
Also present are manuals on protocols for multiple law-enforcement agencies. When they talk about doing things by the book, he has them. All of them.
The other thing you notice in the room is a magical presence. Several, actually, from different locations. This is cursory, focusing will tell you more about stror concentration, location, etc. 2 sources on the bookshelf.
