Israel is in a fairly good mood this morning. Is the past few weeks he has rescued his sister, cleansed his family's former home, helped the spirit of his aunt move on, uncovered family heirlooms, rescued Jehuti Jr., "Thor stomped" a vamp, smashed villains with construction equipment, and provided some minor assistance in Jacob killing his family's nemesis. From his perspective, things are going pretty good. He does make a note to have Ben begin to do some research on Death curses, but Israel is riding high, and therefore confident they'll be able to take care of Jacob's problem.
Ruth:
There you two are! The others were called in early for something. And I'm suppose to go talk to the boss after you two, alone. She is obviously a little nervous about this prospect.
"
Don't worry kid, he doesn't bite...as long as he's already had breakfast, at least." Israel jests as he heads to the office. He adds with a wink before leaving. "
Besides, he usually saves the KGB torture for your third or forth meeting at least."
In the office:
Sergei:
"Director Bres also wanted me to add the importance of a smooth win on this one. No multinational military operations. No explosions or people, and for God's sake not a teenager, run over with a steamroller, no forests exploding in the middle of town. This case came from word of mouth. The chief heard what we can do, and you did it well, more or less, and he is trusting us to help now.
Israel jokingly grumbles under his breath. "
Never let us have any fun..."
Sergei:
"One last thing. Agent Levy, I am about to inform your sister of an appointment with a representative of the Wizard Council...the meeting is generally not done with relatives present, though I can arrange for me or Wizard Horace to be there if it would make you feel better.
"
I'm not really worried about it. The council and I are generally on good terms right now and as far as I know Ruth hasn't actually used any powers yet - so there has been no chance to piss off the higher-ups. Horace is more apt to get into an argument with their rep, since he's never really hid his disdain for the council, and, no offense, but I think you still scare the crap out of Ruth, so I doubt that would make things any more comfortable. If you want to keep an I on things from a distance though, I wouldn't complain."
Jacob Williams:
Sir, if we're supposed to keep this job low key, how 'bout I go into the school undercover? I figure a believable cover would be for me to pose as a substitute teacher, especially if it's Physical Education or whatever the equivalent is in Scotland or the U.K.
"
Williams as a P.E. teacher? Oy, I feel sorry for that class. Just what all the lazy Highs School kids want...a drill instructor," Israel says with a smirk.
Sergei:
Levy, you may want to question parents, if Williams has the school covered, or use his cover to help investigate the school. I trust the two of you to know what you are doing, and will supply what support you need. Speaking of which, if you need, consult with Horace, he might be able to help you whip up a token or spell to help. That's what I pay that old skin flint for after all.
"
Sounds good. I'll take a company vehicle and head to the parent's house, get their side of the story, and see if I can surreptitiously get some hair samples or the like and throw together a general tracking spell."
Israel has the skills to do create a decent tracking skill on his own, but I'll grab any helpful ingredients from Horace. I'll also take his help on whipping up a couple of potions if possible - a stimulant potion and an escape potion. Kidnapping cases are time sensitive - I don't want to have to spend a lot of time sleeping, hence the stimulant. The escape potion is to make sure one of us can get her out of wherever she is being held without having to worry about troublesome things like walls and doors.
