Character Creation

This is how character creation will work in this game:

1. Establish your character concept. I am looking for well thought-out, believable, compelling characters with both depth and room to grow - not just in their abilities and experience, but in their personas and inner caliber. I want this Epic to be an inward journey of self-discovery, growth and change for each character as much as an outward journey across the stars.

2. Select appropriate Upbringing, Apprenticeship, Early Career and Extra Stages from the Character Histories section of character creation in the 2nd ed corebook. These stages will serve as guidelines only - ignore the stats and tallying of points, focus on the concepts of the actual life-stages themselves and what they entail for your character's background.

3. Select any Blessings, Curses, Benefices and Afflictions appropriate for your character concept and background - irrespective of point-costs and presumed system mechanics. Focus on just the concepts and traits themselves as they relate to your character rather than how they might influence the dice.

4. Send this information to me in your private access threads (the threads in which each of you originally requested access to the game). Rather than actually writing up your character sheets and assigning numbers to stats, simply list the following:

- Character Concept: (minimum of a few short paragraphs, preferably more)
- Upbringing: (selected stage)
- Apprenticeship: (selected stage)
- Early Career: (selected stage)
- 1st Extra Stage: (selected stage)
- 2nd Extra Stage: (selected stage - if applicable)
- Final Touches: (Blessings, Curses, Benefices and Afflictions)

5. After reviewing all this, I will work with each of you to finalize your characters and generate character sheets for you using my custom system. From that point on, you will each have the option to either be involved in the system mechanics side of the game (making dice rolls, declaring combat actions, etc) or forget all about the dice and the rules and your stats and leave that stuff to me behind the scenes.
