For clarity, what is going on is our "prologue".

Its going to be a simple-ish combat to see how much of the rules you understand. Remember, we are using The Last Gasp (Pyramid 3/44) which means knowing how much AP each action costs as well as Conditional Injury (Pyramid 3/120). Please have a copy of at least The Last Gasp so you know how much each action cost. Use General rules and FAQ for the cost of movement.

Do note! what ever numbers you see in The Last Gasp, multiply it by 4 for the actual cost. For example, taking a melee attack maneuver cost 1 AP in the article, but for this game it cost 4 AP.

Even though it cost more, it doesn't change the ratios since you also have 4x the amount of AP the book suggests (AP = HT, you all have AP = 4HT). This is due to you the cost of movement. Constant moving up to Move/2 costs 1 AP per turn.

It’s a bit to keep track of, but I’m excited to try the rules. I’m thinking of copy/pasting a few things into my sheet so I don’t forget or have to dig through books. :)

They may be close enough for you to attack them, but as I said, they are not close enough to attack you. Thus, making that parry roll not needed.

If there is any confusion with what is going on, read the golden notes at the end of my posts. That will tell you specifically what is happening. As you see, the only thing that happened was the npcs moved and the enemies moved 1 hex closer.

When they attack, I will make sure it is listed clearly that they are attacking and who they are attacking.

So, I will need you to update your post Jin Lee to fix that you did not parry an attack. I will let you use the same roll to do what you wanted, but please make it clear what maneuver and modifications you are using and put it in small green at the bottom as noted in the General rules and FAQ second post.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Just realized we are not tracking Action Points (AP).

Everyone update your posts by adding in small green the following:

RT:
AP:

Accumulated Wounds:

RT is your Robustness Threshold, Daemon is the only one with 7 while everyone else has 6.

AP should be in X/X format, Jann is the only one with 40/40 while everyone else has 48/48.

Accumulated wounds is where you would list what wounds you have sustained and where, as so:

Accumulated Wounds:
Left Arm, Minor Wound (-3)
Right Leg, Major Wound (-2)

I will update Jann's posts since they have not been on.

Forgot to track AP from last round. Lemme be sure I’m counting correctly:

AP cost listed in Pyramid 3-44 is x4, so the cost of moving from prone to kneeling is 8 AP? And Fast-Draw would be 4?

Good catch, I didn't notice 3/44 separated the change postures into 4 levels.

We will assume you were sitting up already due to the commotion before you decided to start getting ready to fight. So its only 4 AP for changing from sitting to kneeling for you.

Correct on the cost for fast draw, 4 AP.

So in total:

First turn cost you 4 AP (change posture).
Bringing you to 44/48.

Second turn cost you 4 AP (Fast Draw). Changing from kneeling to standing cost no AP when taken as the "step" portion of your move (basic 364).

Bringing you to 40/48.

You also have 8 AP to spend for defense only for the turn since you took AoD.

AP only recovers when you take a recovery action per 3/44 as well as what is stated in the General rules and FAQ last post:

"If you move no further than your "Step" in a turn and do nothing else, roll vs HT to recover AP on your next turn."

Recovery actions give you 4 AP plus 1 AP per point by which you make your HT roll.

Jin, a wait that does not trigger is not turned into a do nothing, granting a HT+4 roll, but only a HT roll to recover AP.

Ok, that sounds fair. I just had to ask the question.

I would like to subtly try to increase the light here, using magic to make the fire glow very brightly. This being the first time I am using magic in this game, could you please walk me through it? What do I declare, and what do I roll?
