1.0 Roadkill and the "Hostage Tour"

Exerpt from an article in a music magazine;
   In all the world of music there has never been such a controversial group as Road Kill.  First, these young musicians attained overnight superstardom through the design of their manager Damon Falmier.  Now rumor has it that Road Kill has aquired super powers.  Wether this is true or just some publicity stunt what is certain is that Road Kill is not satisfied with fame and riches.
   Road Kill has been running rampant on a criminal spree.  It is reported that Road Kill was involved in a robbery and the kidnapping and attempted murder of the popular boy band YVT on a live tv broadcast in Kansas City, Mo.  Then there was their highly publicized robbery at Wave-Tech Industries.  What is Road Kill planning?  Are they a band or criminals?

Exerpt from a newspaper article;
   It is confirmed by authorities that explosives were found at the last "Hostage Tour" event staged by the band Road Kill.  Details were not released, though Homeland Security is thinking about adding Road Kill to the Terrorism watch list.

Exerpt from "Road Kill Watch" bulletins on the evening news;
   Rumors are rampant on where the next "Hostage Tour" event will be staged.  With only an hours notice, stations all over the country are on alert to send news crews to anywhere.  Road Kills Facebook page has been swamped with hits.  Where will the next one be?

   Heading to Marshall Auditorium, an older venue in east portland, you hear on the news that the local authorities are hesitant to interfere because of the threat to the civilians..."But what of the CMF.  They are loose supers.  Will they interfere?  Will they cause a massacre?  Are the bombs real? Only time will tell."
  Arriving, you begin to notice a police prescence, then you begin to find the street parking full.  At Marshal Auditorium you find the streets around the location in chaos.  Teens and young adults are everywhere, many sporting "I survived the "Hostage Tour"" shirts being sold by vendors.

What do you do?
Please respond in private lines for now?

Re: 1.0 Roadkill and the "Hostage Tour"

   Roadkill is a villianous Heavy Metal Band who became famous about a couple of years ago.  Their first couple of tours were normal, well as normal as a heavy metal band tour gets.  The "Hostage Tour" is different.  Being wanted by the police, Roadkill uses the power of the new media (Facebook, Twitter, etc...) to hold "impromptu" concerts.  They typically rent a venue (a concert hall, stadium, etc...) under an assumed name, rig the place to explode and then Twitter/Facebook the location and time.  Their fans, vendors and the media have an hour or 2 to arrive before the concert starts.  This leaves the police with not enough time to respond.

Re: 1.0 Roadkill and the "Hostage Tour"

The music starts to play a slow ballad, and all the normals begin to sway in unison to the music.  Screech (instead of the usual lead singer) begins to sing, but there is massive feedback and suddenly something unusual happens.  A triangle of energy appears with the vertices being 1 of Screechs keyboards, a kid in the crowd and Boomers guitar.  As Boomer and Screech immediately manipulate their equipment, the kid seems to burst with energy which creates a vortex in the middle of the covered orchestra pit in front of the stage.  What appears to be a wormhole opens and closes and a young woman in strange clothes appears.  Oddly, only a few members of the audience react to this, most just keep swaying to the musics beat as if hypnotzed.

The small woman stood there. Her skin was frostbitten in places, but she didn't seem to mind. Slowly, her skin healed and she looked around trying to make sense of all the chaos all around her. Assaulted both by all the noise and the crowd about her, it was all she could do to just stand there like a statue.

There must be a mistake. This cannot be where I was to be sent. MONO thought.

With the crowd in a hive state of mind and the LT. not liking it.   Gunny will suggest that we get to the front of the stage as soon as possible. (Actually between the front of the stage and the mosh pit.)   He'll further suggest that we either put the ship in hover above the spot for quick embarkation or extraction from the arena.   With this idea in mind, Gunny will prep to repel down into the crowd.

     With the outburst of flame, multiple (eyes?) will focus in on Flashpoint with a look of...(well, you probably can't tell)
     "Oh! Massive metabilized pyrokinetic energies.  You humans never ceases to amaze me."
     Pointing toward the glowing triangle infront of the stage with a psuedopod, tentacle thing.  "So how would you like to deal with that materializing inter-dimentional Worm-Hole?"

Re: 1.0 Roadkill and the "Hostage Tour"

Flashpoint regards the floating biomass. Wormhole? I don'tknow what that means. But explosives I DO know. Even though the wires have been disarmed, the explosives can still be set off by a number of energies. I'd best remove the explosive materials before that can happen. And besides, the hole in space has already closed.

OOC:Assuming here that we can see what is going out in front of the stage,of course. Didn't seem likely from the setup as written.

What....are you? the flaming woman asks as she works to remove the explosive charge.

Re: 1.0 Roadkill and the "Hostage Tour"

Reaching up to the edge of the pit, MONO pushed herself up into a somersault and landed on the stage in defensive mode. Completely confused at what was happening, she wanted to find a higher ground to defend herself. The crowd seemed wild. Could they be worshipers in some form of strange trance? Could this be some kind of ritual that she should stay out of?

Re: 1.0 Roadkill and the "Hostage Tour"

   A couple of Roadies (humanoid robots) approach MONO from both sides of the stage and try to grab her (miss) while the lead singer says, "Babe, I know we are hard to resist, but Roadkill doesn't share the stage.  I can give you a private show at my hotel room."  Again, the audience should respond to such an obvious innuendo, but just keeps swaying to the music.  He turns to the audience, "People of Portland, the Freedom Revolution starts here.  Go, show the Man they can't keep youth oppressed anymore."  As one, the crowd turns and starts leaving, chanting "Down with the man..."

"Please forgive.. am from far away." MONO did her best to understand what was going on around her. It appeared these people of the land of Port were in some great struggle against someone, "Who is this man you mean to fight. Those citizens you command seem very loyal but not equipt for battle. Send me instead if you must. Do not throw away innocent lives."

  Seeing the new creature pop into existence in a style that he had only read in sci-fi books. Durablast is curious how it happened and heads to the stage to see if he can find out how it occurred by the creature that is now on the stage.
  Durablast will using his radio to scan frequencies to see if there is a transmitter and attempt to jam it.  If not, look to see if he can get near the sound techs board to cut the wires.

Gunny will superleap onto the stage in between the two roadies and knock them over.   He'll say, "Charge", as he is doing this.   If he can't do this then he will rush the crowd and play bowling with them.

Re: 1.0 Roadkill and the "Hostage Tour"

Feeling the so called 'Insanity Song' MONO took offense to it. "That was not nice. Don't do that again." Closing the very short distance, MONO struck Heavy Metal with a light strike to his chest. She wasn't sure what his defenses were and tried to take it easy.

MONO rolled 11 using 3d6. Martial Strike that hits DCV 8.
MONO rolled 16 (with 6 body) Possible Damage. Putting her DCV at 10

In reply to Tony (msg # 18):

Flashpoint responds Baby, you have NO idea how hot! With that, she sends out a sheet of red-hot plasma, which wraps itself around Boomer and his guitar. The flames lick against his skin, and show no inclination of burning themselves out.

13:28, Today: Flashpoint rolled 14 (with 3 body) using 3 with the Hero (Champions) system. OCV 8 vs Boomer w/Immolation. Hits DCV 5

13:27, Today: Flashpoint rolled 5 (with 2 body) using 3 with the Hero (Champions) system with rolls of 2, 1, 2. 3d6 EB Fire,Penetrating

Attack does 2 BODY, 5 STUN Penetrating. Unless Boomer has hardened defenses, at least 2 Stun gets thru. The attack will burn him for 5 phases.
