Toirneach Lann:
In reply to GM (msg # 739):

If it is safe, lann wraps a piece of wet cloth round his mouth and a thick piece of cloth from his bedroll round his gauntlet before picking up the scroll and opening it. Can he read it?

Carefully unfolding, the apparently perfectly safe ancient parchment, Lann sees that it carries a strange diagram.

It is divided into four square segments, one beside the other, above each segment is a symbol he does not recognise and on each panel are three small rectangles in an triangular pattern. On the last segment there is also a larger rectangle at the bottom-centre of the panel.

It seems to be very old...surprisingly it has not perished completely given the great age of the complex...as for the meanings of the diagrams/symbols...he can only guess.

Colm leans in to look at the helmet, it is, as it appears, a plain full face helm composed of an oily looking metal.  It is unlike any modern helmet he has seen...

Gale who so far stood slightly behind with a look somewhere between fearful to boredom perk up at the mention of a great artifact "Any chance to know which is which... it would be great to add to your epic ballad... do you want me to add you wrestled this helmet from some underworld horror?"

Gale was not sure putting the helmet was such a good idea but since Colm ment to place the helm on himself and Colm was vastly smarter than Gale, according to Colm, Gale decided he must know best.

He readies his shield.

Colm places the helmet over his head with tensed arms....the others watch carefully....nothing notable happens.

Lann is waving an old piece of vellum in front of his face..

"Yes, more adventures truly, but they have waited, undisturbed for centuries and wait a little longer for us mortals.  We have torn three unearthly entities from our realm of existence, one day they may prey on our descendants...  I think that is quite an accomplishment for one day."

Kores might not be dripping blood anymore but he's not dressed for a formal occasion with dried blood everywhere....

In reply to Kores Varias (msg # 760):

Following Kores lead the rest of the party, some reluctantly, decided to withdraw from the underworld.

They moved back through the torn down brick wall and along the corridor, whose rivulets again ran with bright 'blood'...though less than before.

They made their way back to the first T-junction and paused:

To the left lay the way out through the hall where Tobias had died and to the right the mysterious set of large metal doors.

Trivel warned the others to avoid looking down the hole that lay at their feet.

Re: To Siren Wood.

As long as Colm can still see, he'll wear the ancient helmet on the way out.  He is curious to see if he sees, hears, feels any differences while wearing it?  As they enter the large chamber where Tobias died, Colm's attention is drawn to the columns with the strange symbols on them.
