Re: OOC Thread 2.

Chlainn Vacrolann:
A bonfire would've been great.  Set it at a distance, the time it takes us to get to the cliff face, the time it would take for them to check out the fire.  It would divert some of the youths without bloodshed and also kill a lot of woodland creatures.  Experience points for squirrels killed?

Hahahaahah! Exp for squirrels being burnt to death? Totally something I would expect from Kharille! :D

Actually I was thinking more of a smoky fire at the bottom of the stairway, something that will cause a slight commotion and draw someone out to investigate. But since you guys have already gotten to the entrance, yeah maybe a fire at the entrance would do some good too. After you take care of the two sentries you can start it. :D

But yeah...just sharing my thoughts. For your consideration.

Wonder if they have a kitchen or foodstores?  Something to divert and split them?  See if you guys see anything like a lamp oil store, or hanging laundry....

And by the rest I mean the piles of metal that are about to clatter to the ground alerting the entire mountain.

Alternativley I imagine someone could try and convince him to tell everyone he just dropped the pots on accident, though that would put everything in the hands of a random man. It’s what Usopi would do anyway. :)

Re: OOC Thread 2.

Surely, getting the lad to say he dropped the plates by accident would be the only viable solution right now. And if we all remain out of sight, it should be quite believable.

The idea is for Lann and/or Aphail to assure him we are here to help him and his friends. ;)

Re: OOC Thread 2.

Some clarifications GM. When Drake climbed up the cliff, he arrived at a "cave mouth", basically an entrance to a cave. And he saw 6 Borderer youths coming out of the cave mouth carrying sleeping furs. After exiting the cave, they walked up some stone stairs that are carved into the cliff wall, outside the cave mouth.

Is this correct?

Re: OOC Thread 2.

So, being more familiar with D&D than with dragon warriors, I’m curious, would it be plausible for Chlainn and I to rush these two sentries and knock them out without killing them in a single blow from the rear? That’d be the easiest way, theoretically, to clear this first hurdle on our end, but I’m not sure how difficult it would be game wise.

Definetely doable with successful Attack rolls. They're not exactly flush with hp.

Re: OOC Thread 2.

Ok so...I want to apologize to everyone. I totally misread GM's post about the cave layout earlier. I had thought that the steps were at the back of the cave leading deeper into the mountain.

I have edited my posts to describe Drake leading the stealth team to enter the cave, NOT follow the young Borderers up the stairs.

Usopi Venia:
Usopi waits patiently for the full count, despite the clattering sounds coming from the cave, waiting for the appointed time at which he is to step forth and announe his presence to the clansmen, whith Chlainn in hiding with his crossbow, Gat beside him with his teeth, as his new companions at the rear with their various weapons and stealth.

Just to be clear, Griff is also with Usopi, right?

I was under the impression Griff was with the sneaky team. I’m cool if heMs with us obviously, but I thought he was infiltrating on this particular mission.

Re: OOC Thread 2.

According to everyone's IC posts...

The Stealth team who climbed up the cliff:
- Dann
- Brannon
- Griff
- Lann
- Jon (NPC)
- Drake

The Main Assault team going by the stairway to the front:
- Chlainn
- Usopi

Lute (NPC) the simple giant is watching Chlainn's mount, plus all the other items left behind by the Stealth team.

I thought the Main Assault team needs beefing up - at least same size as if not bigger than the Stealth team. And ideally made up of everyone with heavier armor.

Re: OOC Thread 2.

Don’t Dann and Lann wear heavy armor? At the moment I think we’re fine as we are, especially considering Dann and Lann seem to have bonuses at diplomacy with other clansmen. (I also think we’re fine as we are in the future as well if Dann and Lann prefer to stick mainly with their older team members). There’s no telling how often the “heavy armor in front while everyone else sneaks” strategy we’re using now will prove effective. No better way to expose an enemy to attack from behind then by presenting them with a nasty looking enemy in the front to occupy their attention. (And Usopi certainly wouldn’t mind the opportunity to give every villain a chance at confession and redemption.:D

:) Sure I can go along with the force distribution. And oh...don't be rudely surprised if you find the outsiders neutralized...without their heads. Drake has different priorities and modus operandi. ;P

They are both wearing maille and yes probably should have gone with the knights....but their Reavers, they're a little loose with following orders.  Though maybe Danns near-death experience on the climb may have taught him a lesson. ;)

Re: OOC Thread 2.

I imagine what we need from the wilding group is less assistance in combat and more a promise that they won’t try to get in our way when we try to kill the cultists. But judging from what we’ve seen so far, even if they do try to attack us we’ll be more than capable of dealing with the wildings themselves.

Re: OOC Thread 2.

It’s good that we didn’t. It sounds like the people at this cave are just the last movers. If we’d just stormed the front we would have killed a couple malnourished babies. This way the little fella they recruited can come talk the sentries in to just letting us pass without sounding an alarm. Then we can just walk up to the new cave they moved in to without them knowing we’re coming.

Re: OOC Thread 2.

Hahaha...the point just came home to me hard that the front door assault team really needed to be more than 2 armored knights. :) Becoz the stealth team may need more time to scout and find out how to tackle the problem.

Ok anyways...yeah wanted to avoid too much metagaming here. So I had Drake present a plan IC.

Not trying to be pushy or presumptuous. :)

Re: OOC Thread 2.

Sounds good to me. Once the 600 count is up I'll approach the two sentries and suggest they lower their weapons and free themselves from the tyranny of the vile cultists. If they do then cool, we'll end up meeting you outside the first cave you guys are in. If not then we knock them out/kill them and then we'll meet you outside the first cave. :P
