Re: The Southern Pagans

Usopi looks over the collected items with a small bit of wonder, it seems a rather large haul. He glances up at the bird, and though not really believing that it is some sentient spirit, gives it a small nod of thanks just in case. Then he turns back to his companions.

”Come, gather up these items, and let’s shift this boulder over to the cave entrance. We can examine them for their purpose and value once our task is completed in full.” he says with a small chuckle as he once more braces himself against the rock, ”Of course, if we collect two of the cattle and tie a rope between them going around this rock, we might drive them forward and have them drag the rock for us. Though I am not an engineer and know not if that plan is sound.”

Toirneach Lann:
Lann tries to recall if he has encountered such objects in the years of warlock studies.

OOC: how long more to dusk for me to restore MPs? May I do an intel check to see if I recognize the items?

OOC: A few hours. Most of the items look to be of Borderer make though much finer than those made today.

In reply to Usopi Venia (msg # 1008):

With no experienced herders among them it took the group some time to drag the huge stone across to block the entrance to the barrow leaving a deep furrow across the valley floor.

Retiring to the valley entrance they spread their haul out on a blanket to examine it...

Re: The Southern Pagans

As the others take a closer examination of the items they had discovered beneath the rock, Usopi looks out over the valley and tries to figure out if they’ll be able to herd the cattle back down to clan Lamell once they’re ready to leave. He considers his time assissting the drovers of clan Cernach, and hopes it will not be to difficult getting the beasts back home.

In reply to Chlainn Vacrolann (msg # 1017):

The group seemed to come to an agreement to settle in for the night, making camp well away from the barrow and sorting through the treasures they had found.

A fire was built and they attempted to stay warm through the night...some better prepared than others.

OOC: Decide what you want and record it on your sheet, anything 'forgotten'off of sheets will be considered lost on the trek back. ;)

Usopi gathers up the items and hands them out to the others in what he thinks is fair, his distribution open to suggestion.(Outlined in OOC thread) Then he Packs up his belongings and moves to begin herding the stray cattle toward the general direction of mouth of the valley.

In reply to Toirneach Lann (msg # 1024):

The companions awoke early the next morning...nothing had occurred on any of the watches posted it seemed the dead slept peacefully once more.

They ventured out and gathered the cattle as best they could....they were not the best herdsmen but it seemed the beasts knew the way back better than they did and there were only a few breakaways that were quickly gathered back...

By afternoon they saw the Lammell holdings in the distance...

Usopi smiles as he walks behind the herd with Gat, much as he had while travelling with the Cernach herdsmen. He was gladd of Lann’s penchant for story telling, relieved that he would not have to boast about their adventure.

OOC - am I still at 3 hp or did I heal a tad over night?

In reply to GM (msg # 1029):

The companions were met outside the gate and herders took the cattle from them and drove them into one of the holding pens.

The group was allowed through the gate immediately, and a young lad came forward to take Chlainns steed from him,  they walked the main way towards the broch.   and were ushered inside where Bhan-mhorair Rigan sat speaking with a group of older men and women.

" Ah, Ye've returned. And no dead amongst ye."

She indicated the platform for them to sit, " Ta load off. Tell me wat you saw."

" And we're out of it without more blood spilt....its a good thing we had strangers to send this time. Times in the past it hasnae gone as well."

She fixed her gaze on Usopi, " So, yer here to claim your reward then?", she finished with a wink.

Then turned to Brannon, " Aye, we'll put our shoulder to Cernachs. But you'll need more than us....and we've an oath to the king. So we'll not war on him."
