Not sure how many HP Killman has, and it’d probably be really bad if we let the local Lord’s brother die on our watch. :(

Well, my Thousand Islands setting is basically SE Asia from Thailand through to Papua but theres no reason any of those folks couldn't be there.

I do have a bunch of Oceania and Polynesia notes around but I haven't gotten them in any sort of order as yet.

If folks from the region ( basically anyone with time and local knowledge want to take a look through the Thousand islands ebook its in the Fan Projects section...it still needs quite a bit of work as its basically all based on my outlook with help from the inlaws ( so basically Indoenesian and Malaysian with a touch of Papua).

Orang Bunian, I've kinda just done as reskinned elves for the moment...certainly an option if someone wanted to step away from my usual all-human games.

I've just skimmed through the stuff on the the DragWars WikiFoundry, and it looks great.

So, A few options I've thought of.

I stay outside the hut with Gat sitting by a fire. The creature comes and attacks me as the most visible target. When I signal everyone bursts out of the hut and fires their bows/fire/rocks at it, and then we try to take out its wings to stick it on the ground and then surround it so it can't defend against all our blows. (I would want full health for this though if I'm being bait for the big bad. Not sure how much MP Lann has left.)(Could a still living animal accomplish the same task? Say a horse or a cow ties up outside a fireplace?)

We all stay in the hut, Lann uses all his magic to heal, and we hope that it doesn't bust open the hut tonight and just goes and hits somebody else. (This is Usopi's least favorite plan.)

We all tie ourselves to stakes around the camp fire so that it can't pick us up and fly away? This would hamper our own retreat if the need arose.

We all go in the hut, but leave the front door open. It tries to come in and we bottle it up in the doorway and rotate in and out. (This is probably suicide because it's probably got disease effects and e'd all just die despite stepping back.)

We all arm ourselves with flaming logs and hope that blunt force and fire is enough to defeat it?

We find ourselves a very large rock and a tree trunk. We use the tree trunk to brace the rock precariously above whoever here has the best reflex. When the creature comes to attack that person the rest of us yank a rope that is tied to the log and drop it on top of the beast while the reflex heavy player dives out from under.

I've got no other plans at the moment, but I'll keep brainstorming. (To bad we've officially consumed all the turnip booze. That probably woulda gone up in flames real nice.



edit: I actually like the idea of luring it inside a hut and then setting it on fire. Depends how strong it is and if it can even fit in a hut. But if fire hurts it and it's not strong enough to break through the walls then that would actually be really good.

What if we stoke the funeral pyre so that it burns all night.  We can have extra torches to wield as weapons also.

We camp around the pyre, providing heat and light and an obvious target for the demon.

Aphail has an Amulet of Alarums, which he can set proximity alarms around the camp, in trees rooftops, etc.

Aphail also has his Stinger missile, but is best used to finish off the creature once it is engaged in melee.

This involved the tanks getting up close and personal though.

If only Kores and Colm were here, they'd rinse this thing...

Aphail will set up Alarums around the holding ( which he should do immediately considering the time)

Lann is planning on using a big spell to take out the enemy in one shot. Aphail is back up with his missile weapon.

Brannon is also on bow duty though aware he tends to shoot his friends quite often.

Kinda...I first determine if theres one in any of the areas I've detailed nearby ( nearby means different things for a Gray Gnome than it does for an Imp), then I do a quick check of notable NPCs nearby, then I go to treasure tables and the like. As Kores is the most powerful Sorcerer in Glissom ( Excluding certain Elves whose magic works a little differently), and I know for a fact that he has 2 then he's the nearest port of call. But he's in a city and a long way away, so I check treasure tables for other nearby areas in case theres a chance of one or two elsewhere.

I joined a cult....well my wife rejoined a cult from her childhood and I try to be supportive of what makes her happy. :)

Let's focus on what arrives first, the 3 Scrotum.  Missile guys loose whatever you can, arrows, javelins, rocks even.

I'd use turncoat on a cockroach (a big one), as the Big Boss might save/resist.  Wait until they are closer.

Chlainn, once I'm out of arrows, I'll crank the arbalest for you while you smash.

We all have torches right?  I mentioned torches before.  Melee guys light several now and leave them on the ground.
We can use these to fend off with when we withdraw to the barn.

In RL? Yup....online closest I got was half the players making a sacrifice play to redirect a skyscraper sized Thunderwyrm through a Pentex facility as the other half of the pack evacuated the kids being experimented on there.

In RL I had a bunch of 1st Rank muppets attempt to attack the Dragon in TKUTF.....that was a short game....also an Assassin who talked the rest of the group into attempting to assasinate the Pontiff....and another lot who kept drinking every potion they found without attempting to identify it first...acid is bad, mkay.

I would think the flyers are stronger than the cockroaches. (Just cause there’s more of the cockroaches). Also, we KNOW the flying things cause disease, and I’d rather make as few of THOSE checks as possible. (Cockroaches could/probably have disease also, but you know, assumptions.)

I suggest you switch to magical blade for the higher attack and defence. 10% better chance either way and higher probability of penetrating their hide and do more damage.

Yes, but in character Usopi is worried that the magical blade is cursed with darkness and might cause him to kill allies, so he’s resolved to only ise it in single combat or when the situation is basically certain death anyway. I’m gonna guess one, MAYBE two rounds before it becomes apparent the sword is necessary.

I left only 1mp. Griff is level 5? Maybe GM can be kind and make my hobgoblin appear with ammo lol. If it's midnight I can summon another fey.

I think Aphail can poke the flying creatures with his relic since it slays them instantly. Is it possible for me to switch to dealing with the devil spawns? I think usopi and I can deal with them since short of a critical hit we are immune to their attacks

Wasn't sure if it was going to be a one-hit-one-kill, but the GM described it as a Relic and the enemy as Hellrot so...

Can I throw my mace at the one attacking me and then shoulder tackle the ones on Griff in the same turn? I mean would the thrown mace count as an actual attack against this thing? I don’t want Griff to die, but my guess is I leave Gat to face this thing alone without throwing one more attack the thing’s way and Gat dies. :(

Anybody else got an idea for how to help out Griff? I’ll do it if I have too. <_<

Lol, I’d say it’s up to Griff, but if it were me, and my choices were ”definitely die of disease” or “probably die some other horrid way but also MAYBE cure your disease” I’d probably go for the one with the chance of working.

Also, I just went ahead and attacked the monster in front of me before putting myself between Griff and baddies. If throwing it would be an attack and move anyway then I may as well keep my hands on it.

Hm, detergents are simple.  You get some animal fat and combine with ash.  If I recall its just a fatty acid / long chain hydrocarbon with a sodium acid linkage.  It shouldn't be serious.  Its oxidizers like bleach or hydrogen peroxide that will burn.  Soap will sting but should be harmless.

Start yawning and encourage her to do so.  One of the ways I bring tears to my eyes...

I don’t know how major your issues are, but I get gnarly earwax build up. I use an over the counter ear cleaner called “debrox” when it gets particularly bad.

I think you've only visited 1 Selentine grave. Where Kores sold his soul to Shader...and got out of it by visiting the post-Fomorian era ruins at Mimir.  You visited some Fomorian era sites in the Bracks and at Lacklaw....I think thats it so far..

Numbers are as Dann posted, its somewhere between 240 and 250...its a makeable shot with the Quarrybolt....difficult with a normal arrow....also you'll need to locate the Quarrybolt again...reasonably quickly....but you have decent Perception so you should be able to see where it lands and being magic it shouldn't shatter.

Bloody hell, was that a HELLFIRE spell that somehow missed its target?  Are we having drunk spell casters miscoordinating their direct magic attacks?
