Re: Dorms, Female Room 6, Terri
Terri yawned and stretched and tried to rub the grit that had been accumulating in her eyes for the last two hours from her close scrutiny of the picture on her computer monitor.  There was something about it that was twigging her bullshit sense but she could quite put her finger on it.

A sudden loud flurry from the room next door announced another victim of the overnight power failure.  She didn't try to conceal her grin as she listened to the commotion.  The two in the room had kept her awake late into the night with a rather loud display of affection that the rather poor sound proofing between rooms had done little to dampen.  At least the two seemed to genuinely care for each other.

Leaning forward she adjust the contrast, pushing the aspect ratio up as high as it would go and enlarged the picture so she could study it one section at a time.  As she studied the distorted faces something caught her eye.  She enlarged the image again.  Still the detail failed to jump out.  Inverting the colors she looked closely and then began to smile.  "Got You!"  Grabbing her books and the original photo from her desk she ran to her Journalism class and Paul Nester.

Re: Dorms, Female Room 6, Terri
Terri blinked blearily as she stared at the computer screen trying to force the squiggles and lines into focus. Reaching out absently she picked up a mug that 3 hours before had contained coffee but now was half full of cold brown sludge that inspired a disgusted gag as she took a sip. Empty Five Hour Energy shots and power drinks littered the desk and floor around her. Giving up on the screen she turned to look at the clock on the wall with its larger numbers. 4:00 AM, the question was, 4:00 AM of what day? Pushing back from her desk Terri groaned as she stretched, realizing as she did so just how stiff and sore she was.

"How long have I been sitting here?" she muttered as she leveraged herself up onto her feet only to have pins and needles race down both legs. With unsteady steps she made her way to a small refrigerator and pulled out a bottle of water. Half of it vanished in three long swallows.

It had started out as a 15 minute task, organize and consolidate her notes and information, an hour tops. As one piece of data linked to another however she had become more and more absorbed in it. Small seemingly unimportant information began to take on more and more significance until she was fully captivated with solving the puzzle.

"I need sleeyaaaaawnp." She yawned shuffling back to the computer. "I can make sense of this when I ca n think." Typing in a command she tapped enter then waited while the system encrypted the data and saved it to three seperate locations. shutting down the computer she removed the cypher key and clipped it to her necklace.

"Wonder what classes I missed." was the last thoughts she had before the bed reached up and grabbed her.

Re: Dorms, Female Room 6, Terri
Terri rolled over with a groan as sunlight began to creep under her eyelids and assault her brain.  "GeeehhaaoutMmmslppnghr"  A sophisticated translation program may have been able to render this into "Get out, I'm sleeping here." but maybe not.

After a few more tosses and turns Terri finally cracked an eye open and glared at the window.  "What did I ever do to you?" she griped before setting up in bed.  "Gaaaah, what time is it anyway?"  A glance at the clock answered that question, 3:45 P.M. but raised another.  <Blue>"What DAY is it?"  That question was harder to answer.

Shuffling her way to the shower Terri shed articles of clothing as she went then spent the next ten minutes with her face turned up into the spray and let the hot water pound the sleep from her.  Shampooing her cobalt hair began to stimulate cognitive abilities.  "I'll need to review what I did last night for content, see what I've got.  Also need to find out if I've missed any important classes.  Why is the name Jericho going around and around in my head?  Is talking to myself a bad sign?  I don't think so, as long as I don't start answering myself."  Drying herself off she returned to the main room.

"Food or computer?  Computer or food? Why are the choices so hard?"  A loud cavernous rumble from her middle answered the question but she did takelong enough to download her files to her notepad before heading for the student lounge.

Re: Dorms, Female Room 6, Terri
Terri fought down a shudder as she stared at the picture held in her trembling hands.  It was one of several, the rest spread out on the table before her.  When given a choise the blue haired mutant always prefered hard printed photos over images on a computer screen.  Somehow they were more real, you couldn't just click past it if you didn't like it or it was disturbing.  You had to handle it, accept that it was real and not going to just dissappear into pixel heaven if you ignored it.

The sad thing was, the picture was not the worst in the group, but for some reason it had grabbed her more than the others. "Screw it, someone, everyone, should feel horrified by this.  Nobody should be able to ignore what was done to you." Terri said softly to the young man in the photo.  Not that he would ever hear her or anything else ever again.  Laid out on a bare stainless steel surgical table the young man, actually a boy hardly into his teens stared straight ahead into the camera, his head held motionless by clamps on each side.  That is he would have been staring at the camera if his eyes had not been replaced by two perfectly circular blood filled holes.  Similar holes were drilled through his shaved scalp in carefully plotted locations designated by the grid of lines that had been drawn on his pale skin.

The rest of the photos were all similar if not worse.  All of them coldly clinical documentation of physical mutilations and atrocities performed on mutants with less respect or consideration than a butcher would have for a bull sent to the slaughter.

"This isn't about getting the facts or the news story any more,  these Monsters need to be stopped by any method we can come up with."  Terri's eyes wandered to the folder at the edge of the table, with the new information she had now there was a good chance she had what she needed to do just that.

The question was, who could she trust with the information?

Re: Dorms, Female Room 6, Terri
Terri frazzled her hair as she leaned back in her chair.  It was with a feeling of satisfaction that she closed the file on her desktop, hopefully she wouldn't need to open it again for a good long time.  All of the information that she had gathered over the last several months about the Power Brokers plus all of the video and audio from the Terricopter was now saved in four different locations under different file names and padded to different sizes with LOLCATS videos.  She had used every shell account she could come up with to hide their place of origin and even if someone did manage to track them all down and delete them she still had all of the hard copy files.  Opening one last shell she typed quickly, attached the closed file and hit send.

It would be interesting to see if the FBI did anything with it.
