Battle on Duck You Sucker thread

Here are the initial positions of the combatants involved in the Duck, You Sucker! thread. As you can see, there's a lot of space...this battle takes place on a wide-open plain. The large skull things are the Cavalry troops riding horses

Fairchild's Boarding House Map

Map for Fairchild's Boarding house. Each square represents an Inch worth of movement, so if your pace is 6, you can move 6 squares.

The Professor and McCall are up on the second floor (the right-hand map) while everyone else is on the first floor (the left-hand map), more or less (remember that this place was constructed by M.C. Escher, so be wary of. Each of the rooms there is filled with stuff (various sorts of furniture, rugs, sconces, etc) that I didn't want to take hours to fill out, so assume that passing though a room is actually difficult terrain (half movement speed).

Jack is closest to The Professor (right up the stairs). Matthew is the figure at the bottom of the map. Janet and Mr. Sebastian are up at the top of the map.

There's a whole floor that is not detailed here, and the cellar isn't pictured, either (I need to make some icons for stairs to those places). The building is bigger on the inside than it is on the outside, so keep that in mind as you try to get anywhere.

The Train!

This is a fight on a prelude thread.

Special Rules!

All the Cheyenne are riding horses and most of them are within 24 squares of the train (Short Range for their Winchesters). One member of this group has a S&R Dynamite Launcher instead, and is within Medium Range of that weapon (he's riding perilously close to the train). There's another band of Cheyenne attacking the engine, using MUCH heavier weaponry. None of them have the Steady Hands edge, so their attacks are at -2 (plus any range penalties)

For the passengers inside the passenger cars, you have Medium Cover (Heavy if you crouch away from the windows, but then you can't attack). Unless you have the Steady Hands edge, you suffer a -2 penalty for the Unstable Platform of the train (the Witches, used to fighting from trains, have Steady Hands)

The stats of the Locomotive and Passenger Cars are below:

Locomotive: Acc/Top Speed: 2/30; Toughness: 16 (2); Crew: 3+4; Notes: Requires full minimum crew of engineer, boilerman, and brakeman to function.

Train Car: Acc/Top Speed: –/–; Toughness: 12 (2); Crew: Varies; Notes: Can hold a maximum of 100 passengers, less if designated for some other use besides planting one’s rear.

The Engineer is an extra with Driving d10 and the Ace Edge. The train is currently moving at Pace 15, which inflicts a -2 penalty on his Driving rolls. I'll rolling for his actions in response to the Dog Soldiers attacking the engine.

Bear Butte!



Here is the initial position of the various groups at the Bear Butte campsite. The image is, in fact, of the trail leading up to Bear Butte, taken with Google Earth.

Wovoka, Horn Chips, and the two Sioux braves who've been traveling with the party are on the middle left. The group of braves in the lower right-hand corner are the Cheyenne braves who were panicked by the arrival of Wanbli Luja. The Eagle himself is right there near the center, pecking at Hoarse From Roaring. Not far from that is where Rotten Bear Killer is facing down Art, with Thunder Walker and and Moses nearby. Up on the ridge is The Hooded One, speaking with Tan Xiaohan. Expect surprises, especially as the action heats up!
