It just means folk around have gone quiet and/or stepped back, I believe. Sort of a last chance to step in before Sam and Jackie are at each others' throats.

Whilst Jackie could probably take Sam down without raising a sweat, Sam's buddies are around, and being skirted and quite possibly corsetted* is a severe disadvantage in facing an armed gang. A tip from years of gaming with the Stray if you ever feel like acting on it, though: Stray does love a good duel.


*skirts so heavy and complex that rib-crushing whalebone framework was necessary, to allow the wearer to do anything but lie on the floor were still relatively common in the period...the stereotype of the fainting Victorian woman probably has far more to do with reduced lung capacity than socially enforced delicacy.

Bear with me. I've been a bit ill the last few days. Also, I'm going to need to start a new OOC thread soon...this one's almost at the limit.

My boss told me today that, because business has been slow, this might be my last week on the job. Since my boss is also my landlord, that may mean that I will soon be homeless.

I have hope that some of the resumes I've out in at some of the local game stores might pan out into something, but I do not know right now where I will be next week.

Therefore, I am putting this game On Hiatus until I know more about what my situation will be.

Just get yourself back on track!  We'll be here for you when you get back on your feet.

It looks like I won't have to move out by the end of the week, but as of the 4th of July I've been laid off. I have until the 27th to either find a new job (to start paying rent again) or to find someplace I can crash.

I may do some posting while I'm out and about looking for work, but it will be sporadic at best. Thank you all for the support, and an especially large thanks to those of you who've sent me links or otherwise encouraged me. You are a great bunch, folks.
