Re: Chapter 3.2: The Wicasa Council ((Bear Butte))
Hoarse From Roaring screams more gibberish as he raises his guns, but whatever nonsense he's screaming about is drowned out by the crack of powder as he peppers the giant eagle with bullets.
Sky Hawk, on the lookout for danger, watches three of the Sioux raise guns toward him and his charge. one of them, the stocky fireplug Little Crow, aims directly at him. "Goodbye, former brother. You should have never joined with these cowards and traitors to the people. Now you die."
He fires, and Sky Hawk feels a line of fire across his side as the bullet wings him. The other Ravenites shoot at Wovoka, but the Holy Man is young and spry, and the worst the bullets do is tear his shirt.
Meanwhile, in the chaos at the center of things, Moses and Thunder Walker also face attempts on their lives.
A Ravenite with a crazed grin on his face takes aim at the Scion of the Storm, cackling madly as he blazes away. The bullet takes Thunder Walker high on the shoulder.
A more deliberate, methodical madman takes aim at Moses, and the giant holy man feels the bullet puncture his chest.
The grey-furred man-mountain closes on Art. He moves far, far faster than any thing of his size has a right to move, snarling and howling like a beast, his blows coming too quick for Art to see, let alone dodge or block. The first blow dislocates his right shoulder. The second cracks three ribs and splits his side open from the sheer force, sending blood spraying. The third blow drives the breath from him as it strikes him right above the groin, sending him to his knees. The fourth blow comes as he struggles to stand, a vicious blow to the head, the sort of blow that could crack a stone in half...
As the carnage unfolds, The Hooded One watches with detached disinterest. [Language unknown: "Plsta seng ortweroul K has m? M io n whate rat. Ticavence Font n os onesheons himice. There's a wicked smile on it. [Language unknown: "I si ne illersver'ounate o pl io."]
As Quiet Knife leads Wovoka and Horn Chips towards the treeline, the brave spots a rustle from the trees. There's a glow from two shining eyes, and then suddenly a {CRACK!}
And then Wovoka falls, blood spreading across his chest...
((OOC: So I have a ton of NPCs in a row...including one you weren't aware of, hidden off in the brush.
First up is Hoarse From Roaring and his braves
HFR is Ambidexterous and has Two-Weapon fighting, and his got a brace of pistols. He's going to shoot at Wanbli Luja, though since he's in Melee with the giant raptor, he's going to have to hit Wanbli's Parry of 8 with his shots. He's going to Double Tap with each gun to get a +1 to attacks and damage. He gets a +2 bonus to hit because of Wanbli's size, so his total attack bonus is +3.
00:15, Today: Hoarse From Roaring rolled 8,4 using d8+3,d6+3, rerolling max with rolls of 5,1. Shooting!
00:14, Today: Hoarse From Roaring rolled 7,5 using d8+1,d6+1, rerolling max with rolls of 4,2. Shooting!
One hit.
00:16, Today: Hoarse From Roaring rolled 19 using 2d6+2, rerolling max with rolls of 1,(6+6+4)16. Damage. That's a Shaken and 1 Wound for Wanbli, which will put the spirit out of action unless it soaks.
The rest of the Ravenites aren't actually so crass as to attack the spirt, but they have other targets to take on.
Little Crow takes a shot at Sky Hawk, trying to finish what he started. 2 of the Ravenites shoot at Wovoka. One Ravenite each shoots at Thunder Walker and Moses. Since they aren't moving, they get the +2 bonus from their Marksman edges.
00:22, Today: Ravenite Braves rolled 5,3,6,8,17 using d8+2,d8+2,d8+2,d8+2,d8+2, rerolling max with rolls of 3,1,4,6,(8+7)15. Shooting!
Every target is hit once. Thunder Walker and Moses are Hit with raises.
Damage (Sky Hawk): 7. Shaken.
Damage (Wovoka): 5. No injury
Damage (Thunder Walker): 9. Shaken and 1 wound.
Damage (Moses): 20(!) Shaken and 3 wounds.
Rotten Bear Killer is up next. He has quickness active and Improved Frenzy, so he gets 4 attacks per round (2 on each of his actions) with his Bladed War Club at no penalty. He's also Wild Attacking for +2 Attacks and Damage and -2 Parry (lowering his Parry to 6 after the war club modifier).
He's going to make Art's day pretty miserable.
Frenzy 1: 00:32, Today: Rotten Bear Killer rolled 6,6,3 using d10+2,d10+2,d6+2, rerolling max with rolls of 4,4,1. Frenzy! (With Wild Attack). 2 hits, no raises.
Frenzy 2: 00:33, Today: Rotten Bear Killer rolled 8,5,7 using d10+2,d10+2,d6+2, rerolling max with rolls of 6,3,5. Frenzy! (With Wild Attack). again, 2 hits, no raises.
Here are the damage rolls (each must be soaked individually):
Damage 1: 18 (!) Shaken and 3 wounds
Damage 2: 19 (!) Shaken and 3 wounds
Damage 3: 22 (!!) Shaken and 4 wounds
Damage 4: 24 (!!!) Shaken and 4 wounds
Every single one of those hits was massive. All of them are crippling, and 2 are enough to incapacitate Art right out. Art, you might be best served just saving your chips for the Incapacitation roll, rather than blowing all your chips trying to soak all that.
It's Raven's turn next. He's going On Hold as he continues to Spill the Beans to Rabbit.
A hidden sniper, Heartless Hunter, reveals himself by taking a shot at Wovoka from the treeline. He has the Marksman and Assassin edge, but he doesn't get The Drop (because Wovoka, at this point, is expecting to be shot at, just not from this direction). He's at the edge of Short Range for his gun.
00:46, Today: Heartless Hunter rolled 10,5 using d12+2,d6+2, rerolling max with rolls of 8,3. Shooting! (Marksman). Hit and Raise.
Damage (Wovoka): 25 (!) That's a Shaken and 4 wounds, enough to Incapacitate the holy man if he doesn't soak.))
Summary:
Wanbli Luja: Shaken and 1 Wound
Sky Hawk: Shaken
Thunder Walker: Shaken and 1 Wound
Moses: Shaken and 3 wounds
Art: beaten to a bloody, bloody pulp.
Rabbit: matching wits with Raven, who is still Spilling the Beans
Wovoka: Hit by a hidden sniper for 4 wounds, enough to incapacitate him

Hoarse from Roaring and the Ravenites: 4H
Rotten Bear Killer: QC
Raven: On Hold
