Re: Fate Chip Awards!

I award Moses 1 Blue Chip for his taking on an entire squad of the Black Regiment just with his hickory stick and some holy wind.

I award The Professor 1 Red Chip because his Trouble Magnet hindrance just went off.

I haven't had a chance to award Janet Weiss many chips, so here we go: 1 White Chip for getting on Jack McCall's bad side, 1 Red chip for meeting up with Mr. Sebastian and agreeing to work for him, 1 Red chip for managing to intimidate the poor ticketmaster, and 1 Blue Chip for all her adventures with those files.

Re: Fate Chip Awards!

I award 1 Red Chip to Black Jack for his tenacity in not letting the slights of Horn Chips go unchallenged.

I award Tan Xiaohan and Thunder Walker 1 Red Chip for offering good advice.

I award Janet Weiss 2 Random chips from the fate pot because she's in some deep trouble, and for good RP (as I'm pretty sure the player saw trouble coming long before the character did...)

Re: Fate Chip Awards!

New Session!

This session is now over. A new chapter begins! We have some bookkeeping to take care of.

Experience!

The players involved in the Chapter 1 threads get 3 Experience Points, which should put everyone at 5 XP!

Janet Weiss, because you're prelude thread has been so long, you get 5 XP for yourself.

Advance!

Since all the PCs have 5 XP, that means everyone gets an Advance! Please let me know what it is you'd like to improve with your Advance

Legend Chip!

We have finished the First plot Point of this game, so I am adding 1 Legend Chip to the fate pot. When rolling for your chips, roll d36. If your roll aces, you'll know you got the Legend chip. There's only one, though, so once it's claimed it's gone.

The Legend chip must be used the session it is drawn, or else it converts into a Blue chip at the end of the session.

Discard and redraw chips!

Discard your chips and redraw up to 3. if you have any Blue chips, however, you can keep them...they are bonuses for really good RP.

Discard and Redraw Adventure cards

Please discard and redraw your Adventure Cards. I want to encourage a "use them or lose them" mentality for Adventure cards, so I'm not letting them be kept between sessions. Post your new cards on the Adventure Card thread.

Exception! Janet, since you are still on your Prelude, you have the option of keeping the cards you have.

Extra Credit opportunity!

If you want a chance to earn a free chip, write up a piece for me that sumarizes the events of the last chapter from your character's point of view. You can send this to me via PM (if you have spoilers in your bit) or you can post it here (if you don't).

Re: Fate Chip Awards!

I redrew my chips, 2W 1B, and posted in the Adventure Card thread for my new cards.
I'd like to use my Advance to raise my Agility by one step.

I've noted my changes at the bottom of my character sheet in the change log.

Chip Awards!

Janet Weiss gets 1 Red chip for completing her delivery to Roger.

Black Jack and Zach O'Connor each get 1 Red Chip for meeting up with Calamity Jane, and 1 White Chip for accepting her plea for help. They each get one Random Chip for discovering information on Carley Bull.

Nate and The Professor each get 2 Random Chips for learning plot-relevant information about Charley Bull and about the DMA. The Professor gets an extra Red Chip for stumbling on to one of another player's secrets (this is partly his Trouble Magnet hindrance at work).

Thunder Walker, Tan Xiaohan, and Moses each get 1 White Chip for accepting the pilgrim's request for aid in locating Sister Belinda. Moses gets one Red Chip for RP after breaking down and weeping at the scene. Thunder Walker gets 1 Blue Chip for his RP when dealing with the pilgrims. Tan Xiaohan gets 1 White Chip for her Trouble Magnet hindrance going off.

Fate Chip Award!

In accordance with the new Joker's Wild house rule, everyone gets a free random chip from Thunder Walker drawing a Joker (it was for another game, sure, but he drew it, so there you go).

Tan Xaiohan gets 1 random chip for Trouble Magnet going off.

Thunder Walker and Moses each get 1 Blue chip for their part in winning the Social Conflict with the Nakota.

Janet Weiss gets 1 random chip for meeting with Maddox and accepting a quest from him.

His brow furrowed with worry at the signs of Li's strange behavior. He spoke quietly to Moses. "Do you think that his brief captivity has unhinged him?" Only then did he realize that he had probably chosen the worst person to ask if another was unhinged.

I LOLed so very, very hard. Take a white chip, Thunder Walker.

Janet Weiss:
Janet put down her cards breathlessly.  "I only have two pairs as well.  See?  A pair of queens, and another pair of queens!"  She turns over her cards to reveal four queens.  They appear to be smiling merrily.

I award you 1 White Chip for the Maverick reference. I love that movie.

Re: Fate Chip Awards!

It looks like the Legend chip has been drawn! Remember, it's one use only--if not spent in the session it's drawn (defined by either a Prelude thread or a titled chapter thread), it's replaced by a blue when you draw chips again.

Re: Fate Chip Awards!

It's that time again!

New Session!

New chapters are starting up, and that means It's a new session for everyone! Well, almost everyone. A couple characters are still involved in Prelude threads.

Experience!

We've aggregated about 500 posts between all the Main threads, Preludes, and Interludes. That's a significant amount of activity, so I'm awarding 5 XP for everyone currently involved in the game.

Advance!

That means everyone gets an Advance! Let me know what you plan to improve, either on the OOC thread or via PM.

Fate Chips!

Either draw up to three (if you you had less) or discard down to three (if you had more).

In addition, the following players have earned some awards:

Black Jack gets an extra chip draw for remaining resolute at the sight of Roger's Shadow Puppet and for sparring with him over cards. The Professor and Zach O'Connor each get a White Chip for their interactions with Mrs. Fairchild and Roger Whateley.

Janet Weiss keeps her White Chip for the maverick reference, as well as for engaging James Wilder on that prelude thread.

Moses, Thunder Walker, and Tan Xiaohan each get an extra chip draw for successfully stopping the skirmish between the Pawnee and the Nakota. They get an extra chip draw for rescuing Sister Belinda.

Art C. Wiley has been meeting famous folk, so he gets an extra chip draw for his brushes with greatness. His interactions also will lead to a special award for all of you. Since his prelude is not finished, he gets to keep his legend chip.

James Wilder hasn't been active long enough to have made much of a mark, but that will be changing soon.

That leads me to this:

Legend Chip!

Art C. Wiley has been dealing with several famous folk, including Black Kettle, Custer, and Raven himself! Thus, as per my "brush with Greatness" policy, I hearby drop 1 Legend Chip in the pot! Remember to roll d36 when you roll for chips. When it Aces, you'll know you have the legend chip.

Adventure Cards!

Discard your cards and draw fresh, amigos, unless you're involved in a Prelude thread.

20:25, Today: Black Jack Boudreaux drew the 2 cards: 7H, 3D using a deck of 54 cards.

7H - Eulogy
“Arthur was a good man. Not so good with explosives, but a good man…”
Play after a PC dies and say a few words about his life to your comrades. Every PC present gets to draw 2 random fate chips. If at the end of an adventure, the extra draw occurs in the next game session.

3D - Mechanical Malfunction
“SPROING!”
A device malfunctions in some way: guns jam, bow strings break, etc. The device can be fixed by a Repair roll at -4 and 10 minutes work.

14:15, Today: Moses rolled 17 using 1d35, rerolling max with rolls of 17. Random chip.

Another white chip for Moses.

Also, adventure cards:

14:16, Today: Moses drew the 2 cards: QH, 4D using the Deadlands system. adventure cards!

QH - Love Interest
“Come here often?”
Play on a nonplayer character to encourage a romantic interest for your hero. The target helps to the best of his/her abilities, but may frequently cause trouble as well.

4D - Tale Teller
“It was a dark and stormy night…”
Your hero must tell a story of his group’s deeds to an audience of some sort (roleplay this) and make a Persuasion roll. If successful, the listeners become friendly and helpful to the entire party.

Hmmm.. I'll update the appropriate thread as well. Tale Teller's all nice. Love Interest? Got an idea on that, too....
