The future of Religions

I made this comment on another game and I wanted to bring it here:

Well Mormonism has a lot of interesting ideas, but I hate how the church wants to correlate everything.  In a way it keeps Mormonism cohesive instead of running wild with all sorts of ideas. Problem with Mormonism is that it wants to keep a white washed history while trying to be mainstream Christian church.

I wish Mormonism allowed for more internal debate with regards to its theology and history rather than just well that's what the manual (or leader's) say without allowing it to be contested.

What will be interesting is the future of Mormonism, but you will have to wait 20-40 years to see it evolve,  but my bet is it will change in the following ways.

1) No more one and only church speech, rather we are part of God's people with our corner of truth (more inclusiveness)

2) Acknowledgement that we got several things wrong among which will be LGBT issues. Expansion of doctrine and theology will allow for same sex relationships.

3) Priesthood offices possible given to Sisters meaning more meaningful assignments and responsibilities (I don't think equal or same priesthood offices)

4) More tolerance for unorthodox views while maintaining a divine or inspired views of the church origins.

I'll post more thoughts on this topic, but in which direction do you see your religious denomination headed? Or what changes would you like to see within your faith tradition or that of others?
