Re: Chapter Two: Experimentation
The camera's black eye stared impassively back, and William sighed, turning his head away. He didn't want to talk to her anymore. It hurt. He wished they would take her away, and that he would never see her again. But, to his surprise, the thought of never seeing her again caused pain as well. He closed his eyes, squeezing them tightly shut. What was happening? He felt so... broken. He had thought that he had only fooled them into thinking he was broken. He had been a cold, steel-hard thing inside, so that the monstrous things done to him in this place hurt less.
But she was breaking him. It really, really hurt, but it wasn't the same kind of pain given by the doctors and orderlies in this awful place. He couldn't name it, couldn't place it. But just because it was different didn't mean it hurt any less.
