Think about your tag scenes.

Zoey sat on the edge of a very large sheet of ice, Allura and Sam behind her, looking up at the sky for signs of where they might be. Every now and then she checked on her friends.  "Good thing for you two Im strong and can create this amazing floating ice bed.  Where would you be without me?"

She looks around, "Where are we?"

"Probably in  nice warm bed instead of on an ice block."

Allura looks around, "What happened ?"

Sam stretched and looked around, "Yeah where are we ? You able to tell Zoey ?"

Zoey chuckled, "That's probably true.  All I know is we got hit by something and crashed through the habitat.  When I looked around though, it was gone and we were here.  You okay?"

"I was cut up a bit, but Sam healed me."

She looked at Sam concerned, "Sam, you okay?  Im going to try to figure out where we are, you two stay put.  I wont be long."

"Can't you navigate by the stars or something ?"

She blushed lightly, "I failed astronomy.  Twice.  I was just going to talk to the fish."

Zoey splashed down into the waters coming across a whale.

Zoey smiled and reached out to touch the magnificent creature.  "Hello my very large and beautiful friend.  Im a little lost, can you tell me where we are?  What ocean?"

It communicates back to Zoey she is still in the Atlantic though it doesn't exactly know human maps. It does swim gently with Zoey though.

"Do you know of any others like myself?  Im trying to find the closest land."

The whale can swim you to the closest people it can find.

"Hold on, I"ll be right back.  My friends cant breathe under the water without help."

Zoey swam back up to where Allura and Sam were waiting, a smile on her face.  "Well we're still in the Atlantic Ocean, so that's good.  Im going to give you two some air bubbles again, and we're going to follow a whale to some people.  We'll figure things out from there."

When they were ready, Zoey caught them up to the whale and followed him.

"A whale ? Well I guess that's ok." Allura stands up and looks around.

Sam said, "Can it push us on this ice block ? I would rather not go back in the water and I am trying to keep us from catching cold up here."

"I can ask.  I dont want you getting sick, so hold on."

Zoey communicated the request to the whale and waited.

The whale agrees and pushes the block of ice along.

In the distance Zoey could see a whaling boat turning their way.

"Uh, guys we've got a problem.  There's a whaling ship coming this way, we cant let it catch our friend here."

Zoey turned her attention to the whale, "You need to get away from here, there's danger coming.  Thank you for your help, but I cant endanger you."

The whale took a big gulp of air and dove beneath the waters.

The whaling ship got closer and a harpoon on a long line slammed into the ice near Allura and Sam.

Zoey dove into the water.  She concentrated on freezing the area around the ship hoping to catch it in ice.

Flash lights and other lights on the ship are turned to the iceberg.

"There's people out there !" Called one of the crew.

"Thought it was a whale." comes a drunken voice.

Zoey swam closer to Allura and Sam staying hidden from the lights, "You two okay?  This can be your chance to get back to the States.  I dont think we're close to home, not with a whaling ship out here.  Or you can come with me."

She looked back towards the ship, "Make a quick decision though."

"Will you be able to get back Zoey ?"

Zoey smiled reassuringly at Sam, "Of course babe.  Dont worry about me, I'll see you as soon as I can.  I need to make sure the whale is safe from them.  Go.  I'll be okay."

"Hey you morons ! What's the big deal ?" She motions at the harpoon.

"Don't any of you dare say I look like a whale !"

Zoey laughed at Allura, "We wouldnt say that.  So what are you guys going to do?"

Allura, "Go ahead squirt, we will be fine. As long as Captain Ahab doesn't get gropy hands."

"You guys be careful, okay?  I'll find you soon.  I promise."

She gently pulled Sam closer, "Stay safe, keep an eye on her,"  then kissed him before diving deep into the waters to catch up with the whale.

"Lead the way big guy.  You know where to find people like me?"

Soon Zoey found herself following the whale back to Oceana.

(Finding Zoey) ^_^

Susan walked out of the library with Rory.  She looked confused and suspicious.
"I hate to sound like I'm complaining, but I expected more of a fight than that.  Granted, perhaps this Sphinx yahoo didn't expect anyone to find that book, but still, it feels like....well, like we've missed something."

Rory also seemed concerned. "Unfortunately, I don't expect this to be the end of it."

Susan looked at Rory, and gave a rueful chuckle.
"So....now what do we do?   It feels a bit anticlimactic to take in a movie?"

Rory seemed thoughtful. "I think that I will spent some time learning more about the Pharaoh. I could search for legends related to him online and visit the areas he is thought to have appeared in. If what he has said about being my father is true, I want to know more. How about you?" Perhaps not wishing to dwell too much on the subject, Rory turned to Susan. "In the meantime, we could go and see a movie if you are up for it. It would be nice to do something relaxing for a change."

Susan raised an eyebrow at the unexpected turn in the conversation, but nodded.
"I can see what my Bubbee knows, and research if the mystics of old have ever encountered or have heard of the Pharoah.  And i can help you, if you wish."
She hesitated, biting her lip somewhat nervously.
"And I'd love to see a movie with you. Rory.   Um...as friends or.....more....?"
Her expression was purposefully neutral, not so much because the answer didn't matter, but as if she wanted very much not to pressure Rory.

Rory seemed thoughtful for a moment after the first question. "Thank you. I would like your help with this."

The teen rubbed the back of his neck, apparently slightly embarrassed by the question and possibly turning a bit shy. "If it's OK with you. Maybe, we can see how things go."

Susan gave a very embarrassed and sheepish little smile.
"Just friends then.   I'm sorry to make you feel uncomfortable.  Just forget I said anything. "

Rory shook his head. "That's not what I meant. It's just... well, you know. I was thinking, maybe it would be better if there isn't any pressure."

Susan nodded, eagerly, obviously wanting to not pressure the young man.
"No worries.  Just a movie it is.  Perhaps something with some comedy?"

Susan smiled at Rory.
"I'll have to work on my magic, though.   We need to be ready for what Is next"

Rory nodded. "The library seems like a great place to start my research on the Pharaoh. "

Susan chuckled.
"A movie and some library time.   Sounds like the American Dream."

Rory laughed at Susan's joke.

When the two show up after the movie they find Allura there reading some of the books and actually taking notes.

She looks up to the both of them, "Ah didn't expect anyone to come here so late."

Susan chuckled.
"I think you're forgetting how nerdy we all are."

Rory also seemed surprised by the encounter. "I'm surprised to see you here this late on a saturday night."

"Well, this has been a really unusual day even for Arkham. There not letting anyone in the good books section, or maybe calling it the evil books section is more accurate."

Allura stretched out a bit.

"So are you two on a date night ?"

Susan smiled with convincing casualness, though it didn't quite reach her eyes.
"Something like that.   So..."
She moved to change the subject.
"Are you up for some study company?   What are you researching?   I was going to look around a bit, too."

"Studying up on fire magic, though they probably have better books in the private stash. I have better control now that you guys stopped the pharaoh. It stuck around the power."

Rory looked down with a slightly guilty look on his face. "Sorry that's my fault. The pharaoh's book is dangerous so I asked dad to lock the place up while we work on countermeasures. I seem to be able to stop it so I guess that there is no harm going there as long as you don't mind me tagging along. I have my own research to do anyway."

"Sure as long as this isn't two's company, three is a crowd type thing. I just want to see what I can find."

Rory blushed slightly. He turned to Susan. "I'm OK with it if you are? We can always spend more time alone next time." He rubbed the back of his neck. "Well, if you want a next time."

Susan smiled a little too brightly and laughed lightly.
"Don't worry, silly, there's always time for privacy later.  We'd love to have your company."

"How about the two of you ? Did your boost in power stick around ?"

Susan chuckled weakly.
"For better or worse, we're back to normal."

"Sorry, I guess it is kind of lame to get power and have it go away. I am glad mine didn't go away. It is kind of cool to be one of the gang finally."

In reply to Allura Danvers (msg # 57):

Susan pursed her lips, apprehensively.
"To be honest, my friend, perhaps I should take a better look at you.  While it's not necessarily a bad thing that whblackatever happejned to you is still there, but it is....strange.  I'd like to make sure it isn't something this Pharaoh guy left behind "

"What like a time bomb ?" Allura looked at herself.

"I don't feel very explody."

The brunette raised an amused eyebrow.
"If you 'felt splody' it wouldn't be an effective trap, now would it? "

"I guess not, but maybe my body is reacting to being under water so much."

"That is hell on your hair, ya know."

Susan frowned in confusion.
"I'm not even sure how that would even work.   But I should run some magic tests to make sure there's none of his influence left."

"Ok should we do it here ? I don't want to set any fires in a place full of paper."

Susan nodded, thoughtfully.
"No, done by the beach, with lots of water and less flammable stuff, makes sense."

"Maybe we could try it some other time, I just got back from the underwater world. I hope Rory is able to get us in the main library, I might be able to learn more there."

Susan shook her head.
"No, we need to do it now.  I don't want to forget or get distracted by anything. And don't worry, I'm not saying we need to actually be in the water.  Just a nearby lake or pond should be fine."

"Talk about a downer, you sure you aren't upset that I can do cool things now too ?"

"Fine maybe the college pool is open." Allura was obviously upset.

"Of COURSE I'm glad, silly!  Even though you're the toughest person I know, I was always worried about you when weird stuff happened.  I'm glad you have your own magic now to defend yourself better.   I'm just worried about this Pharaoh guy.  Shutting down the book felt...too easy.  I want to make sure we didn't miss anything."

Susan tried to be soothing in her reassurance, though she was distracted about worse case scenarios with the pharaoh.

OOC: Usually tag scenes are not a place for contests. Still what is she trying to do ?

"Alright, I don't want to blow up or hurt my friends. Let's go do this."

Susan says goodbye to Rory (unless he wanted to tag along, which she'd prefer) and took Allura to a secluded beach or lake in the woods.

Rory watched the scene in confusion but eventually shrugged and went along with the others.

Susan led them to an isolated area in the woods (trying not to say anything about witch stereotypes), and parked.

"Okay, let's get out in the open, and I'll start some magic rituals to see if there's any lingering magic from what's his face"

"Alright it won't hurt will it ?"

Allura stands where Susan directs.

Susan smiled ruefully.
"If it does, then there's something very wrong and I'm glad I did this."

She started casting and weaving her spells, trying to see beyond the veil of the mundane to what was magic.

Susan sees Allura is a very magical being including seeing the stone and earth magic that she taught Allura.

Puzzled, she tried to determine what kind of magical being

"What is it Susan ?" Allura saw the look on Susan's face.

Susan shook her head, slowly.
"I'm not sure....yet"

Allura fixed her hair, "Can we do this later, I kind of want to test out my fire power."

Susan shook her head.
"Your fire powers might be the problem.  I'd like to finish first."

"You have earth powers, Rory has weird big headed genius powers, and Zoey has water powers. I think your being just a bit too nosy. Right Rory ?"

In reply to Allura Danvers (msg # 83):

Susan sighed.
"We were all born to our abilities, especially Rory and Zoey.   You were normal before this, at least I thought you were.  So I'm worried that something else is going on.  I'm not saying I don't want you to have powers like us.  I'm really happy for you.  But I want to make sure it's not a gift with strings."

Rory looked like a dear caught in the headlights. Eventually, he raised his hands. " I'm staying out of this one."

Allura looked to Rory, "Coward." she said teasingly his way.

"Strings attached ? How do you check for that ?"

Susan shrugged enigmatically.
"Very carefully. "
Then she looked at Allura and sighed.
"Look, Allura, I'll be honest with you.  Our victory over that book trap felt....too easy.  I mean, it was really tough to figure out and get to, but I can't help feeling that there's something else going on,  and the book was just a distraction.    I'm trying to make sure your new powers aren't what we were being distracted from."

Susan can see the power coming from Allura not from any outside source. Though she can still see Allura as a powerfully magical being.

Susan tries to study and memorize everything about her friend, for later study and research.
"There doesn't seem to he anything affecting you from outside, but I'll do more research."

"So does this mean I get to be part of the super secret gifted people club ?"

Allura was smiling.

Susan chuckled.
"We'll give you a probationary membership, but it's not all it's cracked up to be."

She walked over to give Allura a hug, thought behind her smile was a look of curious concern, and glanced at Rory, as if making sure he was still there

Susan still senses infernal energy but it is not coming from outside of Allura.
