Location: Susan's House

Leads: Susan and Allura

Descriptors: Richly appointed, Quiet, and Library.

Allura is reading a book trying to learn more about magic while Susan sits nearby.

Susan is smiling patiently at Allura, and the audience can clearly see that she'd rather be studying her own magic than tutoring someone, but she's trying to be a good friend.  Also, since what she would have studied was Allura, it would have been awkward to do in front of her.

She had her own book out, but wanted to be available for questions (and had some text books out for social studies class, in case any adults wandered by)

"Susan, how come you specialize in earth magic ? You can do almost any kind of magic right ?"

Allura said going over the book before her and not really looking up.

In reply to Allura Danvers (msg # 3):

Susan blinked, a little startled by the question.  She smiled and shrugged, though chuckled to herself when she realized Allura couldn't see the shrug.
"Um...well, it's a little weird, but it has to do with The Golem."
She took a breath, remembering the answer Bubbee Kappy gave to the same question when she asked it.
"While I have the potential for learning all kinds of magic, my...body...is more attuned to the magic of the Ancient Hebrews, and that's linked to the earth.  It has to do with the clay used to make the Golem, the ancient protector of the Jewish people.  The land has always been sacred to the Jews, and when they started using magic, it reflected that connection."

"That makes sense, I guess you were born with a natural predisposition for it. Zoey was born with the seas and oceans in her blood and I have always been fiery. Rory though being air does that even make sense ?"

Susan chuckled wryly.
"Well, I could make the argument that he's always 'had his head in the clouds' or something, and his powers of the mind are ones that 'travel through the air', but it's probably a mistake to make too much of..."

Then Susan paused, frowning in thought.
"Then again, in magic there are few coincidences, to be honest.  Now you have me paranoid that we four were drawn together, for something big.  Some matter of grand importance."

"Really ? Like what." Allura put the book down and glanced Susan's way.

"I never saw myself having any great destiny, more a drifter."

In reply to Allura Danvers (msg # 7):

Susan shrugged, smiling wryly.
"Who knows?   Maybe it's this Pharaoh yahoo.  Maybe it's something else.  Or maybe it's one of those weird coincidences that people always make too much of, like being five minutes late for work the day there's an explosion at your building.
My mother is convinced that whenever she forgoes her normal make up routine, she's going to run into someone important.   It's nonsense, but she won't be swayed.

So it's possible that the world is just full of weird things, and we're seeing patterns where there are none.  But that's not important.
What's important is just being what we are, and the best we can be "

"Thanks Susan, I think so too. I mean I can understand some superstition it has to have some basis in truth somewhere. Though if you believe too much you wont go anywhere. Were uniquely us !" Allura smiled seeming happy.

Susan smirked.
"I never believed in any superstitions, or weird things, until I became one. It's important to keep fact separate from fiction.  We don't want to get too carried away."

"Exactly get too carried away and we will be tied to a stake and burned. That would be no fun at all. I remember last time those nutballs did that to us."

The buxom brunette nodded, shrugging.
"I was talking more about making assumptions until we think the Man in the Moon is plotting against us, but you're right about not getting carried away with actions, too."

"I think we did enough reading, want to head out somewhere ?"

Susan looked at her books, as if they would disapprove, and then sighed and nodded.
"Hmmm....well, maybe we can take a break."

"Let's hit the ice cream shop, we haven't been there for a while."

Allura got up and stretched.

"Your SUV or my Bike ?"

Susan nodded.
"I could go for a nice low fat, sugar free frozen yogurt."
She shrugged, torn between wanting the control of being the driver and an exciting loss of control while riding on the back of Allura's bike.
"Your choice."

"My Bike then, I have a spare helmet in the side car for you."

Allura through on her leather jacket and waited for Susan.

Making sure to hide her spell books and turn off her computer, Susan rose to join her friend.
"The side car is probably best, so i don't have to change out of my dress."
Though riding on the back of Allura's bike, holding her tight, had a certain appeal.

The two get into Allura's Motorcycle and roar off.
