Both boys are in the rare books section. A little envelope falls out of the book Rory holds.

Rory bends down to pick up the envelope and examine its content.

There is a letter inside in Rory's fathers handwriting.

Hello Son, I know you will be needing this to help your friend Zoey.
You will need to perform a ritual the details of which are below.

The ritual is described in the letter and seems to be something that Rory believes he could perform over an hour.

"Hey what's that ?" Sam reads it over Rory's shoulder.

"Your dad ? How did he know Zoey was in trouble ?"

Rory frowned. "I really don't know. Maybe, I should call him to make sure that he was actually the one who left the letter."

"Yeah that's a good idea. Too much messing around with us lately not to look in the Trojan horses mouth.

Rory nodded and laughed, in a 'he has a point' kind of way. He then took out his phone and dialled his dad's number.

It took a few rings but Rory was able to get through, "Hello ?" came his fathers voice.

"Hi dad. Zoey disappeared on us so I went down to the library to work out what happened and I found a letter in your hand-writting about performing a ritual to help Zoey. To be honest, I'm not quite sure what to make of it."

"A letter from me ? I didn't write a letter to you what does it say ?"

Rory read out the note without going into the ritual details.

There are a few moments of silence, "Was it in a book ?"

"Yeah." Rory read out the title of the book.

"Yes Rory, I guess I did write that but it was such a long time ago. Follow the ritual after you described it to me it makes sense."

Rory seemed inquisitive. "What do you mean a long time ago?"

"Decades ago son, I barely remember it. When you mentioned the book title it brought back the memory. I will explain it more later. For now help your friend. That ritual should do it."

"Decades ago, that..." Rory was silent for a moment. "It doesn't matter, as long as you're sure about this I'll trust you."
