Allura looks at the bubbling tubes and set up.

"You never told me you were a mad scientist Rory."

Rory raised an eyebrow and responded in a clearly humorous tone. "Mad? Allura... I believe that the politically correct term is sanity free. Or was it batsh*t crazy? I can't keep up these days."

Allura laughs, "I like the sanity free one. So how can I help out. I know it seems like I am going to rely on your brains for this project but I want to do what I can to make it a success too."

Rory laughed. "Sanity free scientist it is."

He seemed a bit more serious when the project was brought up. "Coming up with ideas is not just about brain power. It is also about imagination and lateral thinking to. So yeah, I'm counting on you." 

"This is supposed to be save the planet stuff, do you think we can make nanobots to clean the oceans of all the junk ? We could even give something like that to Amanda and Zoey because the Atleanteans could use that."

"Nice idea" Rory considered the idea for a few moments. "Unfortunately, nanotechnology is unpredictable. A simple glitch, in any of the millions of machines cleaning the sea and we could turn the whole world into grey goo."

Rory seemed to go back to thinking about ideas. "Do you think that drawing unlimited amounts of clean energy from sub-dimensions would be considered dangerous? It's not like anything can live in them so, the energy is just sitting there doing nothing."

"Subdimensions ? What like heaven and hell ?"

"Yeah, that probably wasn't the best term to use down here in Arkaham." Rory shook his head. "The multiverse theory would have it that there are an infinite amount of universes just like ours each created by its own big bang event. Unfortunately, a very specific mix of circumstances are needed to make these universes stable and only a small fraction of those are liveable. Many disintegrate, leaving behind vast quantities of energy just floating in space. Well, that's the theory anyway."

Then Rory grinned. "Imagine a place containing as much energy as our entire universe, all of it just waiting there to be used!"

"Let's do it ! The Oil companies might kill us but free energy for people would definitely be an ecological thing."

Somewhere far away a shadow occluded figure smiles before the camera focuses back on Rory and Allura.

Rory laughed nervously. "Well, in that case, we had better keep the secret top secret until the fair."

"Ok but how can I help you on this ? I mean I obviously don't know much about these unused dimensions. Any advice on what I can do, or what I should research ?"

Rory seemed thoughtful. "We'll need some form of energy containment device, I mean a battery, to activate it, an energy converter, superconductors, heat resistant reinforced alloy, a cooling system... Maybe you could look into the alloy and cooling system while I look into the battery and energy converter?"

"Alright, that I can do." Allura started  web surfing on her cellphone.

She decided to study cooling systems in supercomputers since she knew they couldn't make some cooling pool like a nuclear plant would have.

Rory seems to get inspiration and ideas from his own brainstorming on the idea which was way beyond what most scientists let alone high school students could think up.
