Al looks over and hops over to Zoey. He waves.

"What are you doing?" She asks looking over at Rory's table and gadgets. "Looks, um, interesting."

"We are working on enhanced vision paraphernalia for my suit. You know the usual gadgets, infrared, night-vision, zoom-functions." Rory turned to Al. "Al has been of great assistance as our tool specialist. I think that I've found my assistant mad-scientist."

Zoey laughed and looked around, "So uh, where's my cool gadget suit?"

"Seriously, this is all really cool Rory. I never would have thought any of this up. What brought all this up anyway?"

Rory seemed thoughtful. "It was a mix of things. While I was doing some R&D for Bruce, I thought that some of the technology might have some practical uses. But the idea of integrating it into a suit mostly came from Susan's suggestion to hide our identities and the Cowboy."

He cleared his throat a bit. "When he came to my house, he had no idea who I was. For a moment, I feared that he had come to me due to my heritage, or that he had been sent by one of the bad guys we stopped over the years. I realised that the more people knew about me, the more danger my father and friends would be in. So, I put on a facade, pretended to be nothing more than an ordinary honour student, with an uncanny ability for science." Rory grinned. "It was actually quite fun!"

"We can start looking at designs on the computer now if you want?" Rory turned towards Al again. "What do you think partner?"

Al gives his trade mark thumbs up to Rory.

"Cowboy Bob really got to us all." Zoey frowned a bit at the mention of their Old West friend and sighed.

She went to the computer to check it out too, "You know you're gonna have to explain this all to me. Its like reading Japanese."

"No problem. " rory began typing into the computer. "Just give me a minute to find the google translate page for science to English."

"Joking aside, there shouldn't be any science at this stage, we just need to decide on a good looking design and the main features you are looking for in your suit."

"I dont think I want a full face mask, maybe just something to cover my eyes. And in a light blue color works for me."  She moved so Rory could work on the computer and stood behind him watching over his shoulder, her fingers playing with her necklace.

Rory nodded. "Light  blue, partial facial mask." He did his best to draw a design following Zoey's instructions.

She smiled as he worked, "Maybe I can get some ideas from Atlantis too. I've been giving that a lot of thought lately too."

"Actually, that sounds like a great idea."

"What else are you doing today?" She asked.

"Not much, it seems like we are finally getting some downtime and that the city isn't in imminent danger of collapse for once."

Zoey half frowned and nodded, grabbing a chair and sitting in it backwards so she could rest her arms on the back while talking to Rory. "When was the last time we actually had some downtime? Come to think of it, when was the last time you and I got to hang out just us? With everything that's happened lately, I just really feel like I need some "normal" teenager fun. Know what I mean?"

"I don't know. I was looking forwards to trying out my suit." Rory offered with a grin. "...But you're right. We really haven't had much downtime lately. Maybe we can go to the beach? We could invite the others too. I'm not racing you in the water though. I mean, I wouldn't stand a chance."

She smiled, "That's true, you wouldn't. Lets give the others a call after we get there. There's something I wanted to talk to you about alone."

Rory nodded with an intrigued look on his face. "Sure sounds like a plan. Just don't tell me that we're getting invaded by aliens from the fourth dimension though."

He turned to Al. "How about it Al? Do you want to come to the beach with us? The water would probably be good for you. As long as you don't mind giving Zoey and I some time to talk privately."

"Gods I hope not. Seriously, some normal time would be nice." She smiled and shook her head.

Al makes arm motions like he is swimming then looks up at Zoey.

She nodded at Al, "Yeah we're going swimming. I just need to talk to Rory first."

Al gives Zoey a big thumbs up.

Zoey smiles at Al and picks him up placing the little guy on her shoulder. She turns to Rory, "So, go get your swim gear and meet me outside. Um, what's your dad up to by the way?"

Rory nodded. "Sounds like a plan."

"My dad? He is down at the library doing some 'light reading'. Knowing him, that probably means that he is researching obscure historical facts."

She nods thoughtfully then smiles at her best friend. "Alright, meet you outside then."
