"That's good to hear, that he's okay. Coast Guard should be here soon to take over things."

After making sure the man was okay, Zoey went to the side of the yacht to look at the cargo ship and the surrounding area. Hopefully whatever had sunk its claws into the hull was gone by now.

As she stood by the side of the yacht watching things, she turned quickly to Rory. "I have an idea if you haven't already done it."

She stepped closer to Rory and spoke quietly. "Can you scan these people and see if any of them know anything?"

Rory nodded. "Good idea."

He then activated his telepathic ability to try to learn what the strangers knew about the situation.

The only thing gleaned is that they are doing exactly what they said transporting equipment to a receiver in Arkham.

Rory shrugged. "Sorry nothing interesting."

She nodded with a frown. "How far can you do that from? The captain is still on his ship, can you check him from here? I just feel like someone knows something that they aren't sharing. You know?"

"I can give it a try." Rory tried to extend his powers to reach the boat's captain.

The captain is definitely stressed out. Going over charts and wondering how he could have hit a reef when he has traveled this way before with no problems. Worried about his job and his crew. Pushing further he was able to see that his superior in the company stressed getting the cargo to Arkham without delay and as safely as possible. Yet he doesn't know what the company was shipping.

Susan kept coordinating first aid and blankets

The Coast gaurd arrives and thanks the Captain of Susans yacht for his help.

They start taking people aboard.

"Wow! I think that the captain is about to kill himself."<Blue> Rory seemed to consider his option for a moment. "Zoey can you race over there and stop him? I will try to talk him down from here."</Blue>

Rory sent a telepathic message to the captain, doing his best to blend in the words with the man's internal monologue, playing on the man's masculinity. ~'Suicide isn't the answer. That would just let everyone down. A real man wouldn't do that.~

Zoey, surprised by what Rory revealed, nodded and quickly dove into the water to get to the other ship and its captain. Hopefully she would get there before it was too late.

Trouble Pool

The Captain latched unto Rory's words.


He looked at the pistol then threw it back in his desk drawer.
"Yeah a real man wouldn't do this. God what was I thinking."

Zoey peeks in and sees the captain turning to walk out of his quarters.

Zoey was afraid she might find something gruesome when she came aboard the ship, but let out a sigh of relief seeing the captain hadn't done anything stupid. She followed him quietly to make sure he was going to be fine.

He didn't indicate he was going to hurt himself and eventually started to talk with the coast guard about the accident.

Zoey listened as best she could to see what if she could hear anything important. If not, she dives back in the water hopefully unnoticed.

The Captain is clearly dismayed that he hit something below the waterline. He seems very upset about it but he doesn't indicate seeing anything or even seeing that there was a reef here. A lot of paperwork talk follows.

Zoey sneaks quietly away from the captain and coast guard, diving into the water as soon as she can.

Though Susan was worried that more weirdness was entering their already bizarre town,  she was glad they could help the (presumably) innocent sailors

As Zoey dives back into the water from the Luthor Corp ship, she takes a look around for the creature that attacked the ship.

No creatures are in sight for her.

As she looks off through the waters with a curious look...
