"Well, I can try Restorations. I'm pretty strong, so it'll be a while till I run out of strength. I can try to restore some of his life energy, at least."

Hmmm.

"Also, I'm not sure causing a Tsunami is a useful idea..."

As he starts hovering off the ground. Which might require hopping on Lareth if his wings can't handle the strain.

Re: Episode 1: Gateway

"...athirst of-" frozen in his incantation, the tall creature of water stops, and turns to the group. Slowly, it morphs back into pale, who hangs his head.

"You... you are right; I would destroy all. I must beg forgiveness. This world... it is dead, or at least so far away from life that even I cannot sense it. Being truly alone and apart from my world, from any world, and with the impetuousness of the power of creation within me... I was overcome."

Pale's expression morphs to one of deepest shame and he bows his head deeper.

"I apologize."

Tsu-na-mi... What... An... Interesting... Concept.

Those words formed slowly in Pale's mind as the consciousness of the newly-awakened planet flowed into his.

The others see Pale freeze, his eyes widening slightly with shock. Then he raises a hand. "I... I must go. I will return. Do not worry."

Bending down to press his hand against the ground, he sinks into it, his skin and face hardening to rock as he vanishes inside the earth.

The Baron nods "Understandable. Now if you will, I think that in many religions, the first lines of their holy book involve the greater divinity creating light. In this case, you would be more of the incarnation of Nature here. Might want to give that a shot first." he says with a grin.

Re: Episode 1: Gateway

Lareth, who was just ready for a flying charge, shot a final glance at the druid and landed close to Zhorr and Tilly - who seemed quite ready to fly away with the wounded magus.

"Dee? What have you gone and done to yourself now?" Very gently, she nudged the man's head: "Wake up, human! It's not polite to ignore a lady dragon..."

Following Lareth's lead, Mirelinda lands near Zhorr and Tilly.

"Did I hear someone mention diamond dust ? I just happen to have a few pounds with me. Useful thing, isn't it ? Good thing I kept it with me too."

Mirelinda hands Tilly the small silver chest in which she has been storing the diamond dust she has made.

Tilly opens the chest quickly, of course leaving bloody prints on it.  She then measures out what she needs--she's done this a hundred times; it's sort of like baking, and she's a baker.

"Alright, Zhorr, this ought to help."

Tilly casts greater restoration on Zhorr.

She looks at him and her and the chest and then shakes her head, clicking her tongue.  So much blood.  Wordlessly, she casts prestidigitation and removes the blood...  She can't be getting blood mixed in with diamond dust, can she now?

"Well, that's why I'm here, " Tilly says, matter-of-fact.  "You have talents I can't contribute... When he's recovered, let's fly up and get a better view of the changes."  She measures out some ounces of diamond dust and keeps it in her belt pouch.  Enough for a major miracle or a true resurrection.  They might just need it.

She will move Zhorr to a bedroll in the shelter, until he's up and moving again.

"What happened?" she asks.  "He's so light..."

(Thanks to their transformation, she's as strong as the strongest human athlete, and he is easy to carry.  But it surprises her.  Until now, she has not had anything to carry.)

(Zhorr is, in fact, only slightly above Tilly's light load, assuming they both have at least a modicum of equipment. With no equipment, he might just be withing her light load.)

As Tilly is carrying him, Zhorr opens his eyes slowly. The first thing he sees is the face of the very attractive Oracle. The second is a large reptilian eye.

"Hmmm... Did I just do something amazingly stupid? I kinda feel that I did, but I can't quite remember."

"You overextended yourself trying to protect us. There is no dishonor in that. I think you used what felt like the equivalent of a miracle to protect us, except, without gods to call on, it took the power from you. You're lucky you're still here."

So he understands it.

"Now that we have to be careful with Divine spells, I hope that we will all take it to heart. While I am glad to be out of the rubble, its back to square one for us. I had expected a 4 foot solid slab of stone would be able to support the weight of the tower, the bombardment of meteors did not help things. Now that things have settled down, Tilly do you have the spell known as Daylight prepared? If so, please cast it. I suspect that it will turn the darkness to a grey like an overcast day in a larger scale than normal. Though I suspect that if Pale were to cast it, with his connection to nature, it might be more powerful." says the Baron.

Re: Episode 1: Gateway

The spell works as advertised, and the object touched by Tilly begins to shed bright light in a 60-foot radius. Around that, for another 60 foot, the deep darkness is also brightened to a dim light.

Other than that, nothing much seems to happen.

With a hint of a smile, Zhorr says: "You have to dismiss it first".

As soon as Tilly does so, the others realize that the sky is filled with bright points of light.

Tilly just made the stars shine.

Re: Episode 1: Gateway

The Baron looks at the stars and starts to scratch his beard. "Well now, not quite what I was expecting but that will do. With stars, we now have a way of navigating during the night and knowing the seasons, once we start charting them. One of the spell books will come in handy for keeping track of the stars."

"So we have started this world and let us work towards preserving the place as I am sure that there are other forces that would like to have a say in what goes on here. Whats next? I would suggest that we start planning on what our actions are so that we are in agreement. While there are just six of us here right now, we have already started this place towards success or doom."

"Now that also brings up a point, who will lead this Merry band of Cut-Throats? I would suggest that we get that settled before we go any further.  Without someone to lead us, we will all start doing things that might interfere with another ones plans. Any nominations?"  He says

Re: Episode 1: Gateway

After some time, a dull grinding sound heralds the arrival of Pale, his elemental form bursting out of the dirt. Dismissing it with a shake of his head, the druid nods to you all. Where usually his face was still and solemn, it is now marked by a constant tiny smile- you get the sense that in anyone else he would be full-on beaming with happiness.

"Greetings, sirs and ladies. From how the sky twinkles so beautifully, I take it our spells are beginning to have some effect?" He smiles slightly more and sits cross-legged upon the ground. "I bring good news. The planet... is born. It is alive. I realize this may seem unlikely, but I am a druid of the earth; and I know. It is quite beautiful to hear it's voice, and amazing too- to have a planet, a spacechild, listen and respond and ask questions... it is all and so much more than what I have dreamed for so, so many years..."

He gives a happy sigh; the usually stolid druid is, again, much changed.

"In any case; it means that beneath us is something that will be shaped by what we do and say; and what we teach it. It is... something is a responsibility."

Once brought up to speed on Baron Sider's speech, Pale nods thoughtfully. "I will say that I thought us as close to equals as any other on our home plane. But if you feel direction is necessary, I will bow to whoever is chosen. Forgive my unfamiliarity with the concept- the natural world is a fascinating mix of chaos and order, balance and eat-or-be-eaten, and the concept of a leader- other than withih animal packs- is quite alien."

Dekar considers for a moment.

"It is true I know of leadership, and the philosophy of leadership, and practical experience besides. The problem to electing me, however, is that of the group who is here, my magic is weakest, and my experience with it the least. Still, if it is possible to teach the world beneath us of order and benevolence, that is definitely something I want to do."

If he could connect himself to the world...get it to think like he thinks...

Mirelinda smiles and her eyes tinkle with amusement

"Matriarchy is the way to go, we females have more practical sense than most males. We like to think things through instead of rushing off to bash the problem on the head with a big stick. I should know, I was the matriarch of my clans for two generations. I therefore nominate..."

She pauses for dramatic effect

"Lareth !

She'll make a perfect leader !"

Re: Episode 1: Gateway

"Tilly already seems to have taken the role upon herself, if perhaps accidentally. Divine magic is the key to the development of the universe, so it makes sense that a divine caster would take a central role." That was all true, but Zhorr left out the then fact that they were all supposed to become divine casters specifically for that.
