In the deep space on the Fringe, near the Agricolony of Toasaa the Havenspire Carrier Group patrols the darkness and stands between the Hegemony and the Dead Zone, a mostly uninhabitable swath of space filled only with rocks, ice and hidden corsair bases.

Attended by a handful of cruisers and a small swarm of frigates and support vessels, the old Dragon-class carrier is a relic of the Second Unification War, a time when the Houses of the Hegemony fought and maneuvered endlessly, before the rise of the Indaris Princes who brought peace with laser and sword. When the rebellious Houses bent knee to the First Prince, Havenspire was there in orbit, watching.

The carrier itself is a massive ship, dwarfing the cruisers that surround it. Named for the Palace arcology on Haven, Havenspire has long served as the Flagship of the combined Hegemonic fleets, directing even the dedicated House forces by right of conquest.

She is heavily armed and is home to over 1,300 souls, equipped with artificial biospheres, fuel bunkers, machine shops, refineries and thousands of tons of cargo space, Havenspire is as much city as she is ship, and is the secondary command center of the Hegemony High Command

Two full fighter squadrons operate out of the carrier at ten ships each, Skyserpent interceptors and Cobra attack bombers. These craft are nearly as aged as the great Dragon carriers, but they have a proven history against space, air and ground targets and are generally considered to be trusty military hardware. Given the relative peace of the past forty decades there has been little need to improve upon their design and they see limited but regular service against organized pirate forces on the Fringe.
