WAR RAGES ON, FRONTIER WORLD BOMBARDED FROM ORBIT, CASUALTIES IN THE THOUSANDS

Capitalis, Toasaa (HNM) -- The latest victim of the ongoing attack (pictured above) on Hegemony space, the primary agricolony on the world of Toasaa was bombed from orbit yesterday by a previously unknown fleet from the Unified Brotherhood. Casualties totals are still coming up, but so far estimates place it as high as 500,000 dead, 800,000 missing or wounded.

It's been two years since the Unified Brotherhood came from the Dead Zone and begin to attack Hegemonic space and tensions are still running high. Indari Minister of War issued a statement today in response to the attack on Toasaa: "The battle at the Gamma-071 system where the Unified Brotherhood fleet over-ran the Havenspire carrier group and forced their way into our space to wreak havoc was a turning point in our history, where the People of the Hegemony now must band together and fight to preserve our very way of life."

This attack joins literally dozens of others throughout the past two years, and total casualties are estimated to exceed five million dead, with that total rising every week. Hanmar II, Widow's World, Bothislia. These are all our worlds now marred by war, marred by the violence and aggression the Brotherhood has brought us.

Prince Vaynre Indaris has declared Bellum Totalis and consulted the War Gods: Kares, Gorum and Vauln. The portents have been favorable so far and tens of thousands have joined up with their House forces to repel the invaders. Patriotism and support of the Houses and the Hegemony as a whole are at a 15 year high, with even House Solune and Aesgar putting aside their traditional rivalry to launch a joint mission against a Brotherhood outpost earlier this year.

Thus far, attempts at contact have failed. The Unified Brotherhood appears uninterested in diplomacy or negotiation of any kind, leading House Aesgar and Revack to vow Bellum Exterminatis on the Brotherhood and any sympathizers or supporters. The other two Great Houses continue to stand behind House Indaris' Total War decree, openly on the fence about enacting the Law of Extermination. Without unanimous support, however, Total War will be continue to be the extent of the Hegemonic response.

INDUSTRIAL ACCIDENT PROMPTS EVACUATION

Sixth Ward, Indaris Prime(HNM) -- An industrial blaze is ongoing on the historic Sixth Ward district of Indaris Prime. Hajime Transstellar's Aizu-Komagatake arcology has erupted into flames over the night.

The death total is unknown at this point, but there are unconfirmed reports of emergency teams recovering bodies in the hundreds.

Ulthan street has been filled with protestors since this morning, they say, Hajime Transstellar has unsafe business practices and this accident only goes to show that the Houses need to place tighter regulations and oversight on the megacorps.

So far, these demonstrations have been peaceful, but the Indaris House 7th Division has deployed several platoons to maintain order in the lower levels of the 6D.

The CEO of Hajime Transstellar, Yuushi Kogake, has been unavailable to comment on the events surrounding the Aizu-Komagatake arcology. Representatives say the blaze will soon be under control, however there are rumors on the newsgroups which suggest that there is something sinister behind these accidents, and that they are in fact, attacks by either the Brotherhood or rival megacorps.

FOURTH FLEET DEFENDS GATHARTA AND DEALS A BLOW TO THE INVADERS

Harvest, Gatharta(HNM) -- Out of the ashes of Nergal comes sorrow... then anger. From the High Command, the Warmaster lays out a plan for an offensive against the invaders! The 4th fleet, supported by elements of the 3rd and 6th fleets move into position to patrol the border and prepare for a lengthy campaigned against the Unified Brotherhood.

It seems, thus far, that this offensive is proving highly effective against the invaders. Most recently: a stunning and decisive victory over the Unified Brotherhood above the skies of the Agricultural center, Gatharta near the frontier.

It is truly terrifying how far the invaders have come. Only a week or two away from our core cluster, the enemy continues their relentless assault. We now know that the Nergal system was overtaken only a few weeks ago, confirming what many already suspected. From that system, the Unified Brotherhood and their war-hungry zealots have begun launching their fleets further into our space.

Warmaster Green has promised that the liberation of Nergal is of the highest priority to High Command and the 4th fleet has been positioned to do just that.
