Annie folded her arms inside her red robe as she looked around at the engine room in satisfaction. She had just finished going over the entire thing with a fine tooth comb, as much to familiarise herself with the ship as to check the work of the previous engineers.

She was a beautiful vessel, with a beautiful engine... and a dozen other beautiful problems waiting to break. A voidsent cloaking system. It was like walking into a conspiracy theory, and the young Master of Engineering was loving it.

After basking for a few more moments, Annie realised she should probably go and report to the captain, especially since she'd seen some interesting names on the manifest. About-facing, she left her robe on a hook, revealing her standard uniform under it as she moved back towards the warmer parts of the ship.
