Re: OOC Conversation

I like Endeavor and Hunter as well, although having a ship named after me would be cool to. XD

Re: OOC Conversation

^^; Better than Endeavor or Scott, I'd like to suggest Endurance and Shackleton.

At least they lived. >>

Re: OOC Conversation

So, do we all have some background together, or are well all going to end up meeting for the first time?

Re: OOC Conversation

I've got a basic one down so far. Was a cargo shuttle pilot in Toasaa, a small agricultural planet. Saved up what money I could and bought flight to Haven. But that's it so far.

Some shared background might be interesting.

Well, I'm from Bolthisa. I hitched a ride off the planet to go and train my psychics.

Re: OOC Conversation

I'm ship-born, from the Harcourt, a sprint trader registered out of Phoenix. Spent a few years studying at the university on Gryphon, though, so that's what I normally give as my planet of origin since it's the planet I spent most of my time on. The place is like a second home to me.

The Harcourt mainly does the Phoenix-Toaslaa-Bothisla run, carrying luxury goods and recreational drugs, and the occasional passenger. If someone wanted to have used her to get to the core, that would work as a background tie-in, but it's be a bit of a loose one since I've not been crew on her since I was sixteen.

Re: OOC Conversation

Yeah....that makes sense. Heh.

And that could be a loose tie, though...I haven't exactly nailed down at what age he left Toasaa. >.>

Re: OOC Conversation

Well, how old is your character Annabell? Maire left Balthisa about 16 years ago. She's currently 31 years old. (That's how I planned her anyways.)

Re: OOC Conversation

Also, you're being assigned a ship by Ranger Section Command, so it would be curious if you all knew it each other before hand.

Maybe it's like a loose acquaintance? We've 'bumped' into each other. Though first time character interactions  are entertaining.

Also, what are the ships layouts like? Like are the weapons and such accessible via the cockpit or are there secondary areas for gunners like the millennium falcon had?

Oh me too. Forgive my reticence lately, it's my birthday week so I've been extra busy with social things. I promise we'll get into this soon.

Re: OOC Conversation

Just as a heads up, I'll probably be quiet tonight..light posting if any.  My D&D session is tonight starting at 6 EST.  My vote for the ship name is for Hunter, Endeavour, or Shackleton.  All sound neat to me.  :)

Re: OOC Conversation

Sorry, I'm entertaining a guest who's having some family trouble at the moment, which is why I've been kinda in-and-out focusing on character gen.  Don't mean to hold anything back.

Let's see, as far as ship names go, I'd personally have put forward the Wayward Star, Crusader, or Magellan (because, let's face it, we have no idea where we're going).  Among those put forward . . . the old Robotech fan in me would pull for the INS Hunter.

As for bumping into the other characters before the Ranger Assignment, from what you've put forward it seems kinda unlikely.  Dizzy comes from a cold water-world called Garesh, a world with little sway in the Hegemony's politics.  A war orphan raised in a local church, she went off world as support crew for a mercenary band in her early teens before transferring over to the Hegemony's armed forces as a Chaplain.

Annie's 28.

By my guesstimate, Endeavor's currently in the lead.

Re: OOC Conversation

According to my count (only counting the most recent name vote from each of the four of us), Shackleton, Endeavor, and Hunter all have two votes.  One of those votes is you, Luth, so if you don't like it it comes down to Shackleton and Hunter.

Re: OOC Conversation

True.  Let's make it easy, cause I'm honestly good with any of those, so I'll withdraw my vote on Endeavour, so it's now Shackleton and Hunter.
