OOC Conversation

Go ahead and introduce yourselves and coordinate character builds and such.

As it sands, I'm planning on there being an NPC captain for the ship. This may change in game.

Hey eveyrone, I'm Sam. I'll be your comms officer and resident pre-Blood War history expert

Re: OOC Conversation

Hihi.

I'm Annie, and I'm a xenoarchaeologist. I'll also be taking care of the ship while I'm here, and I'm no stranger to exo-armour. Lets hope for a safe, swift journey.

Re: OOC Conversation

So I should have a 4th player. Is everyone still interested in this game? If you are we'll get started asap (soft RP to ease us into the universe while we build characters)

Re: OOC Conversation

I'm still down to play.  Sorry if I've been a little distant, I was just waiting for us to hit the advertised four people.

I'm Dizzy, or Desna Hargrieve if you prefer formality.  I'll be functioning as ship's councilor, or chaplain for those of you who're more spiritually inclined.  Of course, this isn't a sight-seeing trip, so they made sure to send a priestess who's comfortable with a rifle in her hands, just in case.

Re: OOC Conversation

So, we have;

Sam the Commo.
Annie the Engineer.
Dizzy the Priest.

Well, have to say I'm liking the gender balance of the group so far. :D

Re: OOC Conversation

Bet you a farthing the last crew member is a guy.  Knocking it up to a whole penny, I'll wager he's a psychic necessitating an NPC pilot for this rig.

Okay, so, quick question.  We get a number of skill points per level, but we have to pay for training.  Does this mean that I've got 2 skill points laying around at Lvl 1, but I have to spend some of my starting cash to access them, or do the skill points not start accruing 'til level 2?

I just ask because I always feel naked without Combat (Unarmed) as a fallback.  Too many prison scenarios in my formative years.

Re: OOC Conversation

Hmm. I have a Combat skill. Not sure what to spend it on myself. Punching things doesn't seem like a very techy thing to do... *sigh* and since it doesn't seem likely I'll get any combat tentacle implants in the near future, I just don't know what to pick.

Re: OOC Conversation

Nothing says "techie" in my mind quite like an energy weapon, and in this particular system they're priced competitively with slug-throwers so it really does come down to a matter of choice.

That said, I'm waffling between Energy and Projectile weapons myself.  On one side, I really do love the mechanical action of slug-throwers.  On the other, this is an extended range mission and repacking brass casings only gets you so far.  I honestly figured I'd just ask the GM which are more prevalent among the Hegemony and default to milspec.

Re: OOC Conversation

Good plan. I'm a bit more artsy (born and raised on a trading ship), so I'll probably go with the less-walked road.
