"You look ridiculous, babe" Abernathy said, the smile replaced with a look of worry. "I don't understand. What's going on again? You look like my second kid's father when he got drunk at that Haloween party. Why do you have to dress like that?"

Re: On the road again

"Cossack sheep fuckers," Gavin said as he put on the uniform.  What is this, the Civil War? he thought to himself.  Didn't Ivan know that cotton was king?  Fortunes had been made in the South from God's perfect fiber and for good reason.  Sure, cotton was shitty insulation when it got wet, but it was summer right now.  These Ukrainians must not have a second set of uniforms for winter, Gavin surmised, much to his own dismay.

"Yeah, I feel ridiculous too," Gavin said, agreeing with Abernathy.  He would keep this outfit on only as long as he had to.  It would be coming off once Wilson's bullshit had been sorted out.

"Don't look for logic Tabby, it's the fucking Army.  We are sorting out one of Wilson's fuck ups.  Prick isn't going to transfer any ammo to 2-21st or fire a single round to help until we do.  You've got to admire the avaricious bastard," Gavin said.

"We've got to render unto Caesar on this one."

"Steel Rain, Steel Rain, this Bushmaster Six.  I am at map grid 9729396...

"Six, this is Steel rain, over" the TOC came back while Старший лейтенант Barr sat itchy and fussy in the back of the Wagon. "From actual...move to golf charlie niner seven fife, niner three six...how copy, over?"

Gavin struggled to get a grease pencil and write down the grid coordinate. He got the code, found the numbers in the third and sixth position. Ok, 56, that must be the woman's mother's address. Now, street...what was the street name?

"Roger Bushmaster Six stand by" the comm man said back at the TOC. He sounded like a young soldier from somewhere in the American Midwest. It was possible looked right at the man when he was back at the 3-19 FA TOC.

A minute or two went by as Abernathy drove the FISTv over terrrible Polish roads that weren't tended to  before the nuclear war that happened in this part of the world over three years ago. The FISTv's big tires hugged the road, and Abernathy sacrificed speed for safety in the inky black summer morning.

"S-Six, Steel Rain, over" the same comm specialist came back sounding less confident. "I have a message from Steel Rain actual, over. Please advise when you are ready to copy, over."

[Private to GM: I assumed that the location on the Google Map is the exact house.  If that's not the case, does Gav have any idea where he is going?  Or do I have to wonder up and down the street like fucking Hansel and Gretel look for house #56?]

Was that for me of for Wilson mate? :)

[Private to 1LT Gavin Barr: it's a cultural difference I'm thinking even Gav would not be familiar with. The towns over here are so small, the street names aren't named. My street address is literally "Town I Live In" Street, I shit you not!

I just wanted to throw a little wrinkle in there. That is the house. You're clear up to the pulling over 1000m away with the RCN rolls, so go ahead and post once that Gav gets there and he says or does _____ to/with Tabby Cat.

Re: Breaking the code

As the FISTv moved into position just outside of the village of Kamien, Gavin took a deep breath, while pulling and tugging at the uncomfortable uniform in an effort to make it more comfortable.

"Ok, stay here and keep watch.  I'll be back as soon as I can.  Keep the radio turned down and don't answer any calls unless it's me.  I'll have my hand radio, so if you have an emergency, give me a call and I'll come a running." Well, at least trotting, Gavin thought to himself considering the ill fitting boots.

[Private to GM: I had considered that the village might be so small that everything has only numbers, but figured I'd ask about streets.  Anyway, that was for Wilson of course... ;)]

"Hurry back, babe" Pfc Abernathy said to the FSO. "I don't like this at all."

OOC:

Gonna need a DIF:RCN, three AVG:RCNs, and a fairly clear direction, route-by-landmarks, and possibly a description of how Gavin moves, including as much detail as you wish. Basically, anything you think you can incluse so you won't get your face shot off.

Just before opening the door, Gavin heard the call from Alpha 1-40  He grabbed the hand set and replied.

"++"Alligator Six, this is Bushmaster Six.  Be advised - under orders from Money Shot Six Actual, Bushmaster has been unattached from Alligator.  You can take it up with him, but Money Shot is bingo ammo, so even if they wanted to help, they can't.  Bushmaster Six Actual, Out.++"

Out for a stroll

Gavin moved toward town through the woods.  As he approached various clearings, he tried to stay low and move at a trot between any walls, bushes, or other areas offering cover or concealment.  He made note of any streetlights and tried to avoid illumination.  It was late and dark - he hoped that would help him.

Re: Out for a stroll

As the man from North Carolina moved on the outskirts of the village, he judged the best spot enter the town was a small house, with vined iron pipe trellises and a rusted out Warszawa pickup truck in the yard.  The bed of the truck held soil and a small herb garden.

As he considered the scene under the dim moonlight, Barr was jolted by the sound of a dog barking and running.  A dark shape moved from the house, rushing toward him.

Barr herd a voice shout from the nearby house.

"Zamykany wy odurzony pies!!"

The Master Fister moved cautiously through the barn, as various scythes, pitch forks, and other sharp, slightly rusty implements could be found in abundance.  On the other side of the barn, a large door, through which you could drive a car or wagon, was barred closed with a long 2x4.

OOC: AVG RCN check if you want to try to unBarr the door and slip outside unnoticed.  ;)

Gavin dropped the bar, which hit a few rakes, which hit a few buckets.  It was as if a Rube Goldberg machine had been setup in the barn, with the sole purpose of making as much noise as possible.

"KTO JEST TAM?" issued out from the nearby house.  After a minute, the barn door Gavin had come through started to creak. Barr could see a shotgun barrel coming through the opening, it's owner not far behind.
