The party finishes the cultist and the octo-mass burst from it's chest.  They then spend some time searching throughout the room, and deciding what would be their next best course of action.

Everyone finds this room to be exactly like the last.  Atop the altar are four glossy black stones carved into perfect egg shapes, as well as a brass censer (worth 10 gp). The censer is warm to the touch and is the source of the foul smell.  The altar appears to be solid stone but is in fact only carven slabs that have been cunningly joined together to appear solid just like the previous room.

When the party moves the altar they again find a passage behind it along with The north and east walls have tiny, pinsized holes in them, at a height of about 2 feet from the ground just like the last room.

The Censer and stones are given to Mevoli as it's only because of his skill as a stonemason that the party has been able to find the imperfections in these altars.

This dark, cramped crawlspace is barely 3 feet tall. It is filled with
quivering cobwebs covered with spiders. The crawlspace recedes off
into the darkness.

The dwarves are able to move into the crawlspace without issue.  The Elves with their lithe bodies are slowed to half speed but are relatively unscathed.  The human members of the party are incredibly cramped moving at a quarter of their original speed and unlike the others they must stow away all heavy armor and any large weapons.

As the party begins to progress deeper into the crawlspace they find a lot of cobwebs and various spiders scurrying along within the corridor. As Nora walks even further a loud click can be heard and a rusty blade swings down out of seemingly thin air digging deep into the shoulder of Nora spattering blood along the wall. Mevoli and others on down the chain shout "Trap!." Nora screams in pain, pulls herself free of the swinging blade and  continues to fight through the cobwebs.  She nervously looks around hoping to catch any other unexpected blades coming at her.

The party comes to an intersection.  One goes further down the crawlspace while the other Is a semi-circular hole in the dark passage, dropping into what appears to be a deep chute.  Making a snap judgement and feeling slightly skittish after earlier events Nora and the rest of the party decide to drop into what appeared to be a deep chute.

Anmethwen pulls out a large coil of rope and the party descends down the shaft one at a time. As Nora and the others arrive at the bottom of this chute they find themselves in
a rocky cave about 50 feet across. The floor is littered with debris,
but what catches your attention immediately is the enormous
tentacle on the floor, undulating and twitching periodically. Its base
vanishes into the darkness of a wide hole in the center of the room.
The tentacle has a rope ladder and rigging strapped to it. The tentacle
arcs toward you as if it detects your presence, and slowly advances.

As the tentacle advances Mevoli and Nora being the only ones completely down here panic, shout, and draw their weapons.  Mevoli attacks wildly but his fear shows as his swings are very wild and find nothing but air.  Nora's club and shield strikes come closer to making contact but she also finds nothing but thin air.

Anmethwen gets down the chute surveys the situation and then quickly grab's the dwarves by the shoulder and yanks them back. "Thank the King of the Elflands what are you idiots doing? that thing's not going to hurt us look at it for a second.

Nora turns and nearly strikes Anmethwen when she grabs her shoulder.   When she realizes who it is she speaks to Anmethwen.  It come touch, so me whack it. Nora says surprised with fear of the tentacle still residing in her eyes.

Mevoli shoves Anmethwen back as she grabs his shoulder and turns staring angrily into her eyes.  "What are you doing this beast could kill us!"

Anmethwen laughs, Ahh your grumpy nature reminds me of my grandfather.  He was just the same never one for reasoning. 

Anmethwen pauses and chuckles to herself as the tentacle just floats a mere few feet away...  Look at the rigging on it's back and the hole it's burst out of.  Clearly that's how the cultists have been getting around.  Besides if you had hit that tentacle its unlikely either of you would have lived through the retaliation or very close to it.

The dwarves both nod their heads in silent agreement but stand ever watchful and wary of the quivering tentacle.

After careful consideration and despite the misgivings of the dwarves Anmethwen and the others find they are able to climb the rigging of the tentacle safely and without issue.


Considering the possible difficulties trying to use a grappling hook and rope to get back up the chute the party decides to climb down the rigging of the tentacle being very gentle as they go.

Dixie commands the snake to guard the room as it will be incapable of climbing with the rest of the party.

While a little strange the group has no issues climbing down the tentacle though it's tedious and time consuming as it twists and turns about the caves.  About ten minutes pass when they reach the next room the tentacle is connected with.

This rough-hewn cave looks as if it was enlarged by man-made
means. It is long and narrow, lined with wooden caskets resting on
stone biers. The caskets are marked with the symbol of Chaos. You
can see the white of bleached bones through the moldering, rotted
holes of the caskets.

The party gathers around the room looking at the caskets and the rest of the room carefully.

Chaos Runes, this room is teeming with fun.. with a small side of death.  I think it's best we leave it be despite their allegiances, disturbing a proper burial seems wrong.

Now Lass, I don't see anything wrong with taking a peek at what they have considering it'll be used to stop these crazy cultist bastards.  We just need someone not named Burt willing to play with chaos runed caskets. Burt steps back purposely sticking near the entry where the tentacle resides.

Working magic in this pit is dangerous enough.  While i'm intrigued who was buried here I won't risk angering a possible future patron by defiling possible worshiper's burial grounds.

Come on team lets go further down this is a dead end and a waste of our time. Not to mention the dangers you all have mentioned already.

Galasdaugion starts trying to usher party members back towards the tentacle and out of this room.

Lois begs the party to stop for a moment as she must speak to Azi Dahaka immediately to reassert to her god her devotion and dedication to him.  She then drops to her knees and begins speaking in tongues and her eyes roll into the back of her head.  She grits her teeth in pain and her body begins to turn bright red, then as quickly as it happened her skin returns to normal.  "Praise you great Azi Dahaka aid me so I may do better and be a vessel for your destructive ways"

She then continues on with the party down to the room filled with caskets. A fresh religious fervor courses through her giving her an almost insatiable urge to cause destruction for her lord.

We should destroy and defile these caskets.  The will of Azi Dahaka demands it, and anything found on their person we can use in the further destruction of this cult.  I think one of you big strong warrior types might be best at it though, perhaps you could give it a try.

Lois bats her eyes charmingly at the men of the party as she speaks.

Mevoli sniffs the air and gets an indication there is gold in the casket room.

"I smell gold, it's faint but it's in there.  I'm going in to investigate we could use any resources we can and it's worth the risk.

Mevoli goes to the back and begins to rifle through one of the caskets.  Inside he finds A platinum ring inset with a band of astrological signs (50gp).

Seven ghostly soldiers pop up out of the walls some flying and others floating just off of the ground. Four of them assault Burt with three catching him off guard and grabbing a hold of his throat.  The spirits sap the very essence of life out of Burt turning his face blue and causing him to nearly pass out.

The other three ghosts pop up in front of Anmethwen and she's only able to fend off one as the other two grab her by the throat and nearly choke the life out of her as her body starts feeling like it's going to give out.

Burt struggles to stay on his feet but throws a last ditch heavy hand axe attack at the ghost and solidly connect while his shield pangs against the wall.  A look of pure fear crosses his face as he sees his axe slides right through the ghost doing no damage whatsoever. "RUN! My axe went through this foul spirit we must flee before we all die!!"  Burt cautiously moves back towards the tentacle which allows an opening for one of the ghosts to try and reach out and grasp him.  The spirit moves awkwardly and almost seems like it had fallen but it quickly recovers and remains floating where it was previously.

Dixie seeing they are surrounded and fearing she has little chance of survival runs through the ghosts.  "We must leave now!". she exclaims as three of the ghosts reach out for her screeching in anger.  Only one of them grabs a hold of her arm which causes weakness and pain as she stumbles back to the tentacle and begins climbing down otherwise unharmed.

Another of the ghosts grasps Burt Luke Clay by the throat and drags him to the ground.  The dwarf's flesh turns pale as he collapses to the ground.  Though hes collapsed the ghost continues to strangle him.

Anmethwen grabs Burts heavy body and begins dragging him through the other ghosts. She gets about fifteen feet and surprisingly the ghosts don't attack as they move through them. Though they continue to come after them with their arms outstretched.  As Anmethwen herself gets a few feet away from the ghosts she feels her health almost instantly starting to return. Anmethwen regains 3 Stamina points

One of the ghosts moves up and reaches out and begins to again drain Anmethwen's life from her body but she seems to resist it better than she had before.  Another of the ghosts grabs and latches onto Lois, draining her life spirit her essence disappearing into the ghostly warriors grasp

Lois grasps her holy symbol to push back these ghosts when she hears her gods voice in her head. "These beings are of the same cloth. I will not allow you to shun them."  Lois then knew these were beings of chaos and took her only real option which was to run out of the crypt and down the tentacle with the others.
