Adrian smiled at the thought of a Mongoose ... Well I would have to consider it. That would pe quite a bit faster than my COM-2D ... but I was really thinking about the Snow Fox ... then again either would just be a stepping stone to where I want to be ... hmmmmm. ... What are you asking for it ?

Having already submitted her name, along with a few other Aces, to the list for the protomech testing mission before she came to the lounge Tomoe gets herself some refreshment and drinks it fairly quickly while waiting for the others to fill out their digital paperwork.

”It will be interesting to see how they want to arrange the second stage testing but I imagine the first will be interesting enough with a whole new style of equipment.”

Re: The Lounge
Jacob shrugs, wondering why there is need for DNA sampling and synchronization. Does it mean the protomech would only recognize the pilot it is first set to and will not work for others? It sounded more like a science fiction story that way...

The Bartender was just casually cleaning up used glasses from the regular patrons when one of the pilots from a large group broke away and asked him a question. The discreet bribe was enough for him to actually talk to the guy, "Ah yes, I heard about that but unfortunately you are too late, sir. Due to a recent bar brawl down by the streets below, apparently the man was drinking away his worries and got into trouble. The bank seized this opportunity as the 'last straw' and quickly possessed his spider under the pretense of bankruptcy."

"I'm sure the bank will be able to help you out, they'll be selling that thing at a lesser rate anyways. You can contact them via terminal."

"Thank you for the information" James says as he heads over to the terminal.

Tap, tap tap.  "Lets see, repo mechs, there it is. Hum, just added it to their listing today, better grab it" James thinks as he selects the Spider and added in the units account information to the terminal in order to purchase it.

Passing through the doors Richard walks straight up to the bar and plonks himself in a stool. Scratching at his beard he browses the liquor behind the bar before pointing at a dark coloured one. "Two of them" When the drinks arrive he downs one of the small glasses at once, before taking the other with him to a terminal to see what this gods forsaken place had to offer him by way of jobs.

Re: The Lounge
Browsing through the various contracts Richard finds one that catches his interest. It looked to be a grim one, but the compensation was reasonable, more than reasonable in fact. He quickly sends off a message to the employer indicating his interest and switched over to look through the independent contractors who might join him in the venture to give him some more firepower. All the while he is sitting he nurses his drink waiting for a reply.

New Message Recieved
Message pops up via the terminal accessed.

[Mission Code 61-38B]
Planet: An Ting, Algonquin Island
Mission Type: Pacify Riot
Enemy Forces: Civilian Militia
Unit request: 1-2 Lances
Pay: 1,000,000 (Per Unit), No Salvage. 5,000,000 per unit for accepting genocide -15 to Reputation.
Drop-weight Restrictions: No Restrictions

Mission Info: Four DropShips carrying refugees from the devastating Federated Suns attacks on Galedon landed on Algonquin Island. While planetary officials worked with the refugees who were short on food and shelter, and had left everything behind on the burned-out husk of a Combine prefecture capital—life began to regain some measure of sanity for the displaced citizenry until signs of the flu outbreak appeared.

The An Ting government is panicking and is hiring the first merc group that will be available at prior notice to help contain the mad rush, hoping also to contain the disease before it wiped out yet another world.

Thank you for submitting your interest for these request. Should you accept these conditions, this contract will be taken off MercNet for your review. Cancellation of contract will be fined with 100,000 C-bills per pilot unless prior notice has been given.

Since you are currently not registered on any known unit in our database, we are assuming that you will be leading this operation. We would like you to list down the Pilots that will accompany you for your required task.

If there is anything further we can provide you, please let me know.

Richard smiles grimly as the reply comes through the terminal. He finishes his drink before typing his reply. Conditions accepted. Pilots for the mission will be Richard Castle, Willow Beist, Jessica Galst and Denver Wales. I want more information about the Militia forces, what level of threat will we be facing?

Somewhat distracted by the messages on the terminal Tomoe does still hear Suleiman's request, or some version of it penetrates her concentration eventually as she turns away from the terminal to address him.

”We are on our way to a testing facility, if you think you have what it takes we can do your paperwork on the way and we will consider this a trial run for you.  Prove yourself more useful than annoying and you can stick around.”

Re: The Lounge
receives new response

Pilots Venus, Black Luster and Gunbound have been assigned to you for the mission. They have been informed of their contracts and will meet you at the Dropship Camelot. You may brief them during your transit, and upon reaching your destination, you will then be in direct command of them. Lead them wisely. Your current charges will be deducted from your balance while further charges (20%/10%) will be deducted upon mission complete.

This will be your estimated amount due upon return and mission complete plus any cost for repairs to the Battlemechs. [Salvage not calculated]

Jessica Galst [Venus] -250,000
Willow Beist [Black Luster] -200,000
Denver Wales [Gunbound] -150,000
20% Fee -200,000
20% Fee -200,000
20% Fee -200,000
Mission Pay 1,000,000
----------------------------------
Total Rewards -200,000
This will vary depending on Mission Salvage and Bonus Pay

The Militia will consist of mostly Industrial Mechs and intel suggests even one medium military grade Mech was stolen by the mob. Further details will be available in your dropship's tactical room. The Dropship Camelot is ready for you at the Spaceport and will depart as soon as you have loaded your team and pilots. Good Luck, Commander.

Re: The Lounge
Clayton walked into the lounge looking around, obviously a newcommer. He was dressed in jeans, a western cut flannel shirt, worn leather boots and belt with a shiny Texas shaped belt buckle in the middle. He dropped his kit on an empty table and placed his hat on top. The hat was in fact the only nice piece of gear that he was wearing/carrying that did not have the look of having been down some long road and then having been drug all the way back again through the dirt and dust.

Taking off his gloves he walked up to the bar and offered his hand to the bar tender. Then his fished out his cred stick, offered it to the gent and asked.

Is my credit good here ? I've been on the road a bit and I'm not sure if my promisary notes have quite caught up to me yet.

He looked a little nervous as the man checked his rating. To avoid looking as if he was playing his last c-bill on black 7 he dug in his pocket and pulled out a small business card and laid it on the bar top, very carefully.

You wouldn't happen to know a Mister James Trix ?  Would you ?

He peered into his vest's inner pocket and removed a very worn looking envelope, looked inside it, re-read something and then put it back while he waited.

The bartender looked up the man's balance and passed it up, "Its fine for now." he quickly returned the stick and handed the man a drink, "Mr. Trix is down by the Mech Bay, you wont miss it if you mostly follow all the mercs that leave this place."

Thanks.

He replied looking to where the barman pointed.

This hall ? Hey where is everybody, this place seems a little dead.

Without waiting for the answer he asked a second question.

Anywhere I can get a sandwich around here ?
