Re: Seattle
Brian sat at the table in his break room watching TV.  The show was one of the many sitcoms based around super heroes, and he was slowly shaking his head in a mix of dislike and sadness that this was what passed for entertainment.

"What's wrong boss?"  Gary, Brian's janitor and only employee, asked as Brian rolled his eyes for the thirteenth time this episode.

"I just don't understand this whole extreme idolization of supers," Brian replied, "It's a slight to the police if you ask me."

"Well boss they do risk their lives fighting stuff the cops can't."

"Right it's the risk I'm talking..." Brian was cut off as something drew his attention to the TV.

Re: Seattle
On the television is a local hero known only as Shaman. He claims there has been some mystic disturbance and warns that things will get much worse over time.
There is another report indicating that if incidents of random violence were a disease, the east cost is rising to epidemic proportions.

Re: Seattle
"... There, another example.  Sure some that will try to get a hold of Shaman will actually be skilled enough to help, but what do you want to bet we'll see a Calander Man or Color Lad in the mix?  I'm sorry, you know how I am, what do you say to us getting back to work and get closed up for the night?"  Brian asked as he continued his comments in thoughts to himself, "Can't believe kids today, but if they're going to be there I'll be there too just to make sure they won't get hurt."

With that, Brian switches off the TV and holds the door open for his friend to walk out before heading out to start his closing chores.

Re: Seattle
Steve watched the report with trepidation.  He had to give some credit to the one called Shaman, taken with a grain of salt, but at least given benefit of the doubt. Epidemic random acts of violence, he ruminated, there will be a lot of wannabes getting themselves killed trying to do good or at least minimize the epidemic.  He heaved a sigh even as he mentally prepared for what was to come.

Re: Seattle
There are posters, some on phone poles, some on walls, some in trash cans suggesting that some media companies are holding open auditions for supers to go to the East Coast and help with the storm. Fine print explains the reality show portion.

Re: Seattle
You may hear it on talk radio, have a police scanner, or just notice a tweet, but somehow you hear the call. The SPD (they use green spandex and baseball caps worn reversed for their uniforms) has issued a 'come and assist' bulletin for a robbery in progress. An armored person has tunnelled into the vault of the First State Bank and is attempting to escape with their loot.
They, apparently, didn't want to tunnel out because they would've hit the sewer and didn't want to face the smell.

Re: Seattle
As luck would have it, Brian heard the announcement in his car.  With a sigh, he pulled into the nearest parking lot and parked it.  Afterwards, he got out, and sought out the nearest place to avoid spying eyes, taking the opportunity to switch into his costume, and telekinetically lift the dirt burying his normal clothing.

His identity secured for now, he flew off towards the bank.

Re: Seattle
As Barnburner nears the bank, he sees a large armored individual who announces, "I'm gonna throw your own cars at you!" as he hefts a police cruiser in the direction of the policemen on their defense line.

Re: Seattle
"Get out of the way!"  Barnburner yells as he lands in front of the cops, his telekinetic force field pulsing dimly, and his hands held out in front of himself as he attempts to erect a barrier between the car and the cops, "As for you, surrender now and we can end this without anyone getting hurt badly."

You rolled 14 using 3d6 ((5,6,3)).

OOC: I'm not sure how to show dice rolls in here other than c&p, and I didn't add any additional dice due to power usage or such since that's GM's call.

Re: Seattle
Barnburner saves the policemen certain inconvenience as he conveniently stops the hurled squad car. One of the policemen, apparently the one in charge of the scene, nods and speaks to the newly arrived hero, "Good, our weaponry is no match for that armor, if you can't take him we're gonna fall back and he's gonna get away."

OOC: we'll ignore any expenditures prior to this point, it is phase twelve and Barnburner acts before the infamous Armadillo.

Re: Seattle
"Well, looky here. Now you boys got a real cape, now I can really show you what this hunk a tin can do!"
The armor holds its right thumb to its faceplate, and spreads the fingers spasmodically. No matter how well he does with the rest of the control, Randall still can't seem to properly thumb his nose at someone while in armor.

Re: Seattle
Not sure how much the armor can protect from and not wanting to overly harm the man inside, Barnburner decided to feel out his opponent first.  To that end, and desiring a little space between them, he seemingly pushed at the air.

The forces at his command rushed out of the motion, streaking at Armadillo.

OCV 7 +2 levels effectively 9 You rolled 13 using 3d6 ((5,6,2)).  Hits DCV 7

You rolled 25 using 8d6 ((4,2,5,5,2,1,4,2)). 7 Body x2 knockback.

Re: Seattle
Although the armor appears to dissipate the force of the blow, Barnburner's shove was effective. The armored villain flew back six meters, and would have gone farther but for the bank wall. The concrete wall cracks, and shows an impression of armadillo on it, which coincidentally looks more like a real armadillo than Armadillo does.
Armadillo pulls himself from the wall, and says, "Oh, yeah, well my shoulder blasters will show you what real power is!" and opens up with the shoulder mounted cannons he mentioned. He misses two cars, hits one car, one cop, and Barnburner. The car's windshield is shattered and the flashing leds are blown right off the top of it. The cop is severely battered and flies across the street and into some bushes. Barnburner is hit, but doesn't fly off, and a second squad car is hit, its trunk blasted open and rear tires flattened.

Re: Seattle
As he approaches the flaming wreckage, the caped master of the airwaves is directing his cameramen. "You two face the bank, get about a 75 arc between you and focus on armor guy. John needs to be back a bit and higher, see if you can climb a lamp post or something. The rest of you flank the area and maintain enough distance to keep the other cameras just outside your eff oh vee. We'll go in fifteen."
As he starts to walk to BarnBurner, he speaks into a small radio. "Test, test, test. Don't take any chances, we won't have time to fix anything before Times Square."

A nondescript man, wearing a trench-coated suit that screams subterfuge with its extreme banality, detaches himself from a group of the local police force and walks to Captain Karma. "Hey, cap, it would be a personal favor to me if you would back off for the next half-minute. I'm trying to gather some data, and you know how bad the data gets when you get started."

Captain Karma looks up at the man, quickly, then smiles and nods. "I'll do that, but you'll owe me one. I may need a return soon, too. You in New York?"

Re: Seattle
Despite what you may have thought, Armadillo does not get away. Barnburner delivers him to the SPD. They remove the armor from the dillo and pack man in a car and armor in a van. As the car drives away, it swerves to detour around Captain Karma. Just as it eases into traffic, Randall is heard to plaintively moan from the back seat, "Hey, my cuffs fell off, guys. It wasn't my fault this time!"
