Re: Green Room (OOC)

Which reminds me, I'm flying to Rome this Saturday (back next Sunday): between packing, unpacking and stuff, I'll probably fall off the the radar until then...

Re: Green Room (OOC)

Hi there, everybody.

Just dropping by to remind you that I'm still alive and kicking, now pretty much halfways done with my obligatory military service. It warms my heart to see there is still both life and undeath in here, and I hope that I will be able to join you again eventually. Sadly, it has been more or less impossible to combine army service with RPOL (for lack of both time and (creative) energy), but - all bad things must come to an end, and hopefully, the good ones won't for another good while.

I hope all of our pesky real life obstacles aren't being to much of a pain to you,  Compton, and I hope you do realize that what you have managed to bring together and create in here is something very special which I will not forget.

Whomever feels like having a few megabytes of myself in green (sometimes, this whole thing feels like the world's biggest LARP) dumped in their mailbox need but provide me with an e-mail adress (and hope I find a certain cable). MP-5 and P-80 aren't just weapons from CounterStrike, and thirteen thousand pounds of Belted Wagon is fun.

 - Yours sincerely,
Corporal Eide

Oh, and - I love to see you writing for Johnny, Compton - in much the same way, I guess, as a man can love to see another make his ex-girlfriend happy.

Johnny! Very cool that you were able to drop in for a visit. Hope you’re able to rejoin us soon and that things go well for you with your military service.

Sorry for the delay in my posting, everyone. It’s been a busy couple of weeks.

Re: Green Room (OOC)

Just for clarity, who all is in the current scene? Just Pieran, Mike, & I? And we’re currently in the private lounge, right, with the bar and the kitchen? We are not in the room where the poker game is going to be played.

Pieran, Mike, Raven and Alex are in this scene. You are in the kitchen just off the VIP lounge on the top deck. You are not in the card room.

Re: Green Room (OOC)

Director Compton:
Dren, You and Johnny will arrive and first go to the VIP room I described then onto the private poker room. We could work out the start of that scene in side scene, group 2.

This works for me but I need a spring board to start something off - sorry. Even a two line description of where Dren is coming in. Thanks.

Re: Green Room (OOC)

I’m traveling again for 2 weeks and the bad news is that my ability to connect is going to be much worse than I expected. I’ll do what I can to keep things moving. Please bear with me.

Dren, I’ll try to get something set up for you in group 2 asap.

Sorry for the delays everyone.

Johnny, If you find that you have time, please, by all means, take control. The last thing I want to do is horn in on your girlfriend.  ;-)

...

..

Waaaait a sec... since I'm also in most of Johnny's "private scenes" I think a bit more clarity is in order here...

Now that I think of it - if this WERE a real series, it'd only be a matter of time before the Fan/Fic would start up Dren and Johnny stories I'm sure.

Side bar: Finally saw the Christmas Episode of Tru Calling.
Damn that show had potential...

Re: Green Room (OOC)

Saturday, in quick succession, two disks of my RAID5 decided to abandon their posts. As a result, I have 700 GB of inaccessible data, and can no longer connect from home.

I'll have to connect from work until I find a new computer.

Re: Green Room (OOC)

Welcome back Compton...

And I'm back myself: new computer has arrived, is 80% set up, and eems to be working quite well.

A laptop this time, with no RAID whatsoever. I figure when this disk starts having bad sectors (by the end of the year), the controller won't mark it as "offline" and send all my data to a limbo -- instead, it will politely inform me (by way of a line in the event log) that 512 bytes out of 120GB are now inaccessible and I should really do a backup.

I guess there's bad design, really bad design, and intel design.

Meh.

Re: Green Room (OOC)

I did some reading up and I just had to point out a few of these tea-all-over-the-keyboard moments:

Mike, during the catering-negotiations:

"Mr. Chorro! Very pleased to meet you," he said, extending his hand across the table and having a seat beside Pieran. "Please, don't let me interrupt if you were talking about menus." He leans across the table toward Chorro and stage whispers to him. ""He hates to be interrupted when he's talking about menus. "

Pieran, getting his character into character:

"I guarontee it.  You see, ‘am goink to lace ma deeshes wit ma signature, secret weapons: primordial glazier watar and vairgin saffron.  Togethar dees forces are eerreseesteebul.”

Compton's first posting with Chorro as a full-fledged NPC, including a Dracula-ish black/white portrait.

I think this one was Pieran.

That’ll be my signal to Dren and ‘Cincinnati Slim’ that the game’s afoot.

Raven, after already having scared me once with the garish shirt comment follows up with another tidbit of scarily accurate memory:

"I can wear my ugly, librarian-style glasses instead of my contacts, tuck my hair up in a bun, maybe even give it a different tint. Johnny could use that black hair dye he was sporting when we first met him."

Raven, regarding Pieran getting his character into character (that typed-out accent is about ten times as confusing as Dren's):

Maybe she was just too distracted by other concerns but, she was only able to understand about half the words coming out of Pieran’s mouth. The imposter chef had so deeply immersed himself in the role that Raven wondered if Pieran was channeling one of his ancient souls.

Dren, introducing his alter-ego:

"Good ta meetcha. They call me 'Randy Barrows'."

Yes, Happy Easter! May the Bunny of Chocolate bless your home.

Yesterday, we had the most snow we have had here all winter. Just a dusting, but it covered the grass and the roofs of the houses. It was pretty, but it ruined my plans to mow the lawn. I just got a new mower and was actually looking forward to using it. Guess that chore will just have to wait.

See, that's why Pieran's post make my day more often than not :P

I don't know whether you just do an amazing amount of research or you simply know a bit of everything, but still... Lovely job :)

EDIT: fixed a typo I hadn't noticed (man I hate those laptop keyboards...)

Re: Green Room (OOC)

Just letting you all know that I will be out of town and out of touch for this weekend starting Saturday and the better part of next week. I will be assisting my parents in a move from one state to another, traveling halfway across the country to do that. I will be back in touch on next Thursday.

Re: Green Room (OOC)

You don't want to know how much a semi-professional StarCraft-player hates laptop keyboards, particularly those misplaced ctrl-buttons. The only saver is better access to F2-F4 (no empty space).

Well, seems I've got a military excercise coming up. I'll be unavaiable Monday through Friday, barring some uncannily good luck. Sure hope it won't be too much trouble.
