Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

Frequently forgetting to check in on RPoL, getting engaged, having an otherwise awful 2013. ;) But 2014 seems to be shaping up to be a bit better so far!

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

In reply to Alexis Taylor (msg # 279):

Yeah, same here.  I wrote a poem recently, or rather, i plagerized one; was going to post it ...but i forgot to log in and by the time i remembered to log in, i'd forgotten the poem.  I hate when that happens.  Damn, and i was in a particularly romantic mood at the time.

Agree again, 2013 was the pits for me also; it even came with a pendulum!  However, unlike you, 2014 isn't offering any improvement.

Anyway, you will make a more concerted effort to pop in with increased frequency, won't you?  I, for one, miss your charm.  And your increased attendence might even jar my memory ...and plageristic quill.  But no promises.

Meanwhile, welcome back, thanks for stopping by, and....

....wait  --did you say, ENGAGED!??

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

So I guess this is as good a moment as any to announce that this year I had my first child :)

A little girl, to be precise, born on February 26 :D

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

In reply to Iain R. Short (msg # 281):

You know, they know what causes that nowadays.

Iain!  See what happens when we turn our backs?  You sneak off and do something good!  Permit me then to be the first to congratulate you!

It used to be the custom in this country to gift the new father with a fat cigar, don't ask me why.  Today they send you an insurance adjuster.  But you know me and my preference for the pre-modern.  So Iain, have a cigar!

(Pieran uploads a cheroot)

<§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§§#

Forgive the quality of the cigar; it's an AASCI Brand and i've never tried one before.  Just know that best wishes for you and yours sail from my heart.  Congratz, Iain!!

Yours,

Pier

p.s.  NO SMOKING near your girl!

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

I hope everyone who celebrates it, had a happy Easter. It's nice to hear that you're all doing ok.

Alex, I wish you the best for your upcoming nuptials. Iain, congrats again on your new bundle of joy.

Pieran, at least ASCII cigars aren't as bad for your health, and a lot less prone to bother those near you.

It may be a bit late for St. Patrick's Day, but let me give all of you an Irish toast:
The health of the salmon to you; a long life, a full heart and a wet mouth!

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

We started this game over 10 years ago -- how crazy is that? A decade later and it's still one of (if not the) best games I've ever been a part of. Thank you all for that. :)

I second that. This still remains... I'd say my favorite game ever, really, as far as tabletop rpgs are involved.

I just looked back over the posts and how weird is this? My son was born this year - on February 26. :)

Re: Green Room 2 (OOC)

Well, talk about coincidences :)

My little girl is... Growing, yelling at mommy and daddy when they tell her not to break the house, getting sick, throwing stuff on the floor, yelling at mommy and daddy when they tell her not to throw stuff on he floor... Basically, being a fairly normal one-year-old :P

Not talking yet, but with three "native" languages that's pretty much expected. Plus, as long as she's not talking, she can kep pretending she doesn't understand what we tell her :P

And: congratulations :)

This game will always have a warm place in my heart, too. We were very lucky with the group of players we had.

Alex, congrats! Hope you enjoy your first Mother's Day tomorrow.

2023. I have a feeling some of us who were here back then may not be here anymore.

I was *hoping* 2022 would be a good year... And then Ukraine happened.

So, yeah, happy 2023 everyone. Hope you are all well.
