In reply to Maeruhn (msg # 970):

Alas...I have already entered..but I did think the same things...especially when DM said he wanted me to move my icon on the map so he knew where I'd be...lol...But oh well..Dak knows not of such things...he has never played D&D, though he has heard of strange games where people pretend to be others, and such....;)

OK, so I have repositioned myself...I assume rolling initiative...and then we may go before the statue does again, as I understand it...

Not really, but think we are supposed to squeeze by the wall

I believe I might try to get to the south east corner of the map...with a run action...and then see what happens...

No need to run, you can take 2 move actions.

Remember you are prone it will take one move action to get you to stand or move half your speed as a crawl action.

HEY! That may be the answer! Can we crawl below the sword? I mean if it swings around 360% in a predictable arc, perhaps we can just duck below it?

Why are we even fighting it? It seems like we can just walk around it.

Fine by me, just don't leave me bleeding like this...if we are going to try to pass by, we don't know what is past here...or even if we can just pass this by...

In reply to Dak Helranth (msg # 984):

I should point out that when I say "fine by me" that is me, not Dak..Dak will not be very well inclined to leave this statue be, not that it has drawn blood...he is Dragonborn after all...he has rage issues..but he will likely follow the group if everyone else attempts to leave, because rage or not, he is smart enough to know that his chances on his own are slim...

Re: Table talk (OOC)
I'll heal Dak tonite, but my suspicion is that we've not seen the last of the traps in this room. The other statues, particularly the ones near the south door, are likely to do something nasty to us also, and we may be better off if we turn off the big statue before we have to deal with anything else.

There may be a better way to turn off the big statue, without risking Splug getting pummled while he works on it, so I'd say let's see if we can find it. Then we can see if there's any other surprises in store.

Having said that, Tijis is likely to do something rash, like sprinting to the other statues to find a true off switch, in his guilt at getting Dak hurt. :)

In reply to Tijis Gildentree (msg # 986):

Dak is already thinking that some ranged attacks might be the best option...though he is unsure what kind of attacks might be effective against a statue...and with that in mind...I'm going to roll a...nature? check to see if I can determine what will or wont be effective against a statue...

Re: Table talk (OOC)
Well, with the stats our Storyteller has posted, we can take the statue don easily with ranged attacks.
3 of us have ranged at-willattacks (Dak, Splug (with his magic dagger he can throw and the dagger will come back automatically), and me). So really it is just a matter of time.

And even better is this: My arcane attacks ignore fire resitance up to a total of 5...which means my attacks will hit will full effect...:) God I love being a Dragonborn Sorcerer...

Re: Table talk (OOC)
Unfortunately the statue's resists are vs ALL damage, so your ability to ignore 5 fire resist won't help us here.
But is that the plan then? To destroy the statue with ranged attacks?

Ah...well that sucks..I figured it would work...but oh well..Dak's preference would be to attack. and I happen to agree...but As I stated before, Dak (and I) would go with the majority..

Re: Table talk (OOC)
In reply to Dak Helranth (msg # 991):

Still...I am guaranteed to hit with ANY attack I try, as all my attacks go against Reflex...and his is only 5...and my lowest roll will be with a +4 (basic ranged)

Though I guess if I rolled a crit miss I do miss...but I'd say the odds are in my favor...

so even without the ability to penetrate his "resist all" I can still hit...

From Heroes of the Fallen Lands, page 346:

Thrown Weapons: Any magic light thrown or heavy thrown weapon automatically returns to its wielder's hand after a ranged attack with the weapon is resolved. Catching a returning thrown weapon is a free action.
