The Game
Soon, a whistle played over the intercoms signals all crew to meet on the bridge.
Olek stands in front of the massive glass screen, the dark green murky depths highlighted in searchlight behind him.
Solemnly, he leads the crew in prayer and remembrance of those departed. Those who died in noble service, sealing themselves in the Cargo hold to prevent the rest of the crew from drowning with them, and he who died apprehending a dangerous traitor.
It isn't a long speech, but it is deep and resounding, the sort of speech that hangs with you hours after it's over and that very few GMs can write effectively.
At the conclusion, as per Gnomish Maritime tradition, the crew proceed to the Dive Room where the bodies are dropped through the moon door to be turned over to the briny deep. All present drink a toast to the departed, one beer for each, then a drink for the survivors, then one for the mission and, lastly and most importantly, one for the Empire.
A while later, when the toasts have worn off, the crew get the ship underway and the Red Spring continues its long journey.
