Re: The Game

In reply to Alveris Alderis (msg # 891):

I agree, your tactical assessment is not lacking in the slightest.

Doro looks around.

Then again I seem to have nothing with which to shoot.

Gracefully, Doro leaps across the hallway.

YOU THERE!  He calls out, to one of the Storm Troopers.  Try to hit THIS!

He does an elaborate handstand and cartwheels to one side, and when he lands he hurls a small pouch from his belt at the Storm Trooper. (opposed Agility Check: Trick 2 vs 7 failure).

The Storm Trooper is not moved by Doro's antics and keeps his gun level.

Shit!

In reply to Doro of Mya (msg # 894):

Conrad goes down in a hail of bullets, and does not get up.

[Vigor: 0]

Xerxes has dissolved away from combat, but the autognomes are still in it to win it. The solitary gnome draws his axe, and all three converge upon a single target...

[Attack: 3]
[Attack: 2]
[Attack: 4]

... leaving it spotless.

James pulls Conrad from Combat as far as he can and shoves some gauze into the worst of Conrad's wounds.

I'm getting really sick of this Connie.  I think I know your insides better than you do.

Re: The Game

In reply to Alveris Alderis (msg # 899):

~Combat Round~

Disposition:

Near the door to the engine room, Uthor hides in the pipes, Doro dances in the hallway and Alveris poses menacingly with his knives and a devastating smile.

There is then a cluster of three Gnomish Storm Troopers, one of which is pointing his gun at Alveris/Doro.

On the other side of the cluster, the Storm Troopers are engaged in melee with 2 AutoGnomes.

Behind the AutoGnomes, Conrad is lying on the deck with James tending to him (Conrad cannot take actions but will not have to re-roll Vigor while James tends to him).  An impressive pile of cool artifacts (scimitar, Jar of Unlife and Water Spirit globe) sits beside them.

Doro - Queen of diamonds - 1st
Enemy - Queen of clubs
Conrad/AutoGnomes - Jack of clubs
Alveris - 6 of hearts
James - 3 of diamonds
Uthor - 3 of clubs - last

Re: The Game

In reply to GM (msg # 900):

One more time:

Doro bolts to one side, swinging his weapon around and feinting left and right (8 vs 5: success!).

The Storm Trooper has trouble tracking Doro's movements and shifts his stance uncomfortably (is at -2 Parry next time someone goes after him this round)

Re: The Game

In reply to Doro of Mya (msg # 901):

The two Storm Troopers engaged with the AutoGnomes do their best to fight their way out, deciding to bash with their shields rather than drop their shotguns just yet.

One of them manages to hit an AutoGnome pretty solidly, spinning it's head around comically (Shaken).

The Storm Trooper facing the Fey decides he has one round in the chamber and all intent to use it.

BOOM!

Doro is thrown back (gracefully) and slams (less gracefully) into the bulkhead (out of action)

Re: The Game

In reply to GM (msg # 902):

Conrad continues to bleed impressively, while the shaken autognome attempts to put itself back together.

[Recover from Shaken? 8]

It manages to do this with clockwork grace, and joins the other autognome and flesh-and-blood gnome in attempting to kill the distracted trooper.

[Attack (gnome): 2]
[Attack (autognome 1): 7]
[Attack (autognome 2): 8]

The autognomes connect, dealing damage.

[Damage: 8]
[Damage: 4]

The first blow lands with a deafening PLINK. The stormtrooper is perfectly fine behind his ridiculous armored hide, though a bit shaken.

The second blow rattles him again, shaking him further.

In reply to Conrad Deepsavior (msg # 903):

Whoosh.

[Throwing (Wild Attack) 21]
[Damage 14]

A dagger lands squarely in the shoulder of the gnome who knocked down Conrad. The satisfying, fountainous squirt of blood suggests the dagger has hit something important.

Plenty more where that came from ladies.

Lord I hope Connie's ok. I can't imagine Jamie's moping if he dies..

Re: The Game

Uthor sneaks up behind the unshaken stormtrooper, who until this point was completely unaware that he existed.

[Stealth 5 vs. Notice 2]

He brings his axe down, splitting the offending gnome's head open and dropping him to the ground in a spray of blood and brains.

[Wild Attack, with The Drop, Called Shot (Head): 9]

[Damage 16]

He literally never knew what hit him.

[OOC]Modifier calculations - Attack: +4 from The Drop, -4 from Called Shot, +2 Wild Attack, +2 Gang-up (I put the wrong modifier in the dice roller)= +4

Damage: +4 from Called Shot, +4 from The Drop, +2 from Wild Attack = +10

In reply to Uthor son of Magnusson (msg # 905):

~Combat Round~

There remains one standing (shaken) Storm Trooper, engaged in melee with 2 AutoGnomes and Uthor.

James is tending to Conrad.

Doro and the Gnome are down.

Alveris stands nearby.

Enemy - King of clubs - 1st
Alveris - 2 of hearts
Autognomes - 9 of spades
James - 6 of diamonds
Uthor - 4 of spades

The Storm Trooper refuses to yield (unshake: 9 success and can act)

"Death is Duty Done," he recites.  "Until then..."

He whirls on Uthor and slams him with his shield (damage 7: Shaken)

Nevermind I shouldn't have gone ;).  From a kneeling position he does a handspring behind the pair of autognomes bringing his spear to bear on the shaken gnome.  His spear goes wild however as he tries to reach between the gnomes.

What about our previous interactions led you to believe I wasn't the sort of guy who would throw a dagger into your back?

In this, they fail horribly.

In reply to Conrad Deepsavior (msg # 910):

Youre hopelessly outnumbered.  You have no chance of going home.  Do you think that you can truly defeat us?

James taunts from between the autognomes.

Death is duty done.  Until then....

The gnome responds entirely not rising to the bait

[Taunt 3 vs 10.  Fail]

Will you stop saying that?!  ITS ANNOYING!

James flicks the spear from between his phalanx of autognomes again.  This time he strikes true and clips the gnome in the face stunning him temporarily.

Uthor steels himself against the blow, regaining his composure instantly.

[Spirit 8 - Recovered and can act]

He lets out a yell and brings the axe down.  The trooper, addled by the previous attack, turns just in time to expose his neck.  The axe cuts into it, and he falls limp to the ground.

Re: The Game

In reply to Alveris Alderis (msg # 913):

"Not yet."

Conrad struggles to catch his breath, eventually hauling himself upright with major support from the autognomes, which flank him on either side. James has extracted some, but not all, of the lead in his chest, but the bleeding seems to have slowed to a trickle.

"Deep... Deepsavior here," he croaks into the PA. "Engines... secure. Hall sec..secure. Recommend surv...surviving pirates be placed into pro..protected custody."

He flicks off the PA and, with help from the autognomes, begins to make his way to the bridge.

"There was an agent le... left with the Captain," he explains as they go. "We need to... to take him alive. So many ques... questions. Then, we can final...finally rest."
