Character Name: Talivar Thunderbow
Race: Elf
Class: Magus (Myrmidarch)
Gender Identity: Male
Alignment: CN
Traits: Magical Knack, Magical Lineage
Description: Talivar stands 5’6” and weighs in at 145 lbs of solid muscle. He has long jet black hair and storm grey eyes. He favors dark clothing that allows him to fade into shadows and use his terrain as camoflauge. He has been trained to present a stoic demeanor and when he is set to this purpose, it is nearly impossible to break his composure. Conversely, like many elves, Talivar has a great zest for life.
Character History: Originally from Munse, the Thunderbow clan are renown archers. So much so that it got Talivar and his two brothers in no small amount of trouble as the years passed. First, they were drawn into defending their mother Moranda’s choices among the council of mages about the rules regarding the new towers of magic. She was adamant about her choices and this often brought her into conflict with other councilors. And then there was Rohan’s horse racing, which he used to supplement his income. Which was fine in and of itself, but there was a little matter of disagreement about the betting which certain bookmakers frowned on not being a part of from the beginning. And Leaf had a certain way with young women. A way that led to broken hearts and enraged fathers. When the opportunity came for them to move to Vereghei to join Queen Avala’s huntsmen, the three jumped at the chance.
While his brothers were settled in their new roles, Talivar was slightly restless. So when the chance came for Talivar to take up training as a Myrmidarch, he gladly took it. Once successfully trained he was allowed to go on missions to bring down some cultist holdouts. This chance at adventure was much more to Talivar’s liking.
In Character Writing Sample:
[SAY]No bread, just stew.[/SAY] Talivar said to the serving girl who had approached his table. [SAY]And wine, the strongest you have. I don’t care if it tastes sour. It staves off the plague.[/SAY]u
Now that more was known about the poisoned grain, such precautions might not be necessary, but Talivar felt no need to take a risk for a few bites of comfort. He could buy a bag of radishes if his stomach was not satisfied.
The girl returned with his meal and Talivar paid her in full and offered a few coppers to her in gratitude for her service. Though the days may be dark, it was no excuse to break protocol. And those few extra coins might help pay for a healer for someone in her own family.
The stew was spicy this time. There were those who said it helped burn away the flux as well. Talivar would not dispute it or turn away anything that maintained his health. The wine was not sour, but it was strong. Good. Good.
A shadow fell across his table and Talivar looked up to the tall red headed man who had cast it. [SAY]Yorick! You found me after all. Please, take a seat.[/SAY]
[SAY]I don’t have the time.[/SAY] Yorick responded. [SAY]I have a patrol to see to tonight.[/SAY]
Yorick was a Captain of the Queen’s Guard and the man who had sponsored Talivar for magus training. Talivar was forever in the man’s debt for that act alone, but the truth was that Talivar considered the captain a personal friend and one who had done much for him both in his official capacity and simply as a good person. It almost pained Talivar to make yet another request of his friend, but the need was great.
[SAY]Rohan lies sick and sweating in a bed in Lithraggar. There are not enough healers to go around fast enough. And Leaf nearly died. These are my brothers, Yorick! I heard Queen Avala’s address. Please tell Felrick that I want to be assigned to the team. I have served well in bringing these saboteurs to justice in the past. I will do an even better job with a personal stake in the matter.[/SAY]
[SAY]I will see what I can do.[/SAY] Yorick promised before turning on his heels and walking away.
Talivar considered it as good as done.
